When we pulled up to the music store where Tony worked, I spotted Jaime right away with his skunk like hair do and he seemed to notice me too as we pulled up. I could see his eyes get wide with excitement.

Jaime ran to the car door before Vic even fully parked, “Keri! Keri Thompson!”

“Jaime Preciado!”

He opened the door and pulled me out of my seat into a hug, “You’re home, you’re home, you’re home,” he sang.

Yes, I’m home,” I laughed.

“So what’s up with the surprise visit?”

“Um, where’s Tony?”

“Who cares about him, let’s go out to lunch."

"How about we go tomorrow, this is really important. "

"Fine."

I gave Jaime another hug and a kiss in the cheek, “You’re the best. Come on guys."

“Who are they?” Jaime asked.

“My best friends in the whole wide world and boyfriend.”

“Ha, well thanks a lot. Hey, Tony, look who’s home.”

Tony looked up from tuning a guitar, “Keri?!”

I couldn’t help but to blush, I have honestly been in love with this kid from the day I met him.
“Hey Tony.”

He got up and bear hugged me, “I’m so happy to see you.”

“Same here, but, hey guys, listen I want you to meet Mike and Vic…and Aaron my boyfriend but he’s slightly irrelevant to what’s going on.”

Aaron found a seat and sat, “Thanks, love you too.”

Mike, Jaime, Tony, and Vic shook hands.

“We have well had a band, but a few members left, we need a bass player and lead guitarist. Keri told us your band has recently broke up too and well yeah, we’d love to hear you guys play if it isn’t too much?” Vic asked.

“Well hell I’m in! I’ll have to work something out with my job, but fuck it I wanna give it a try.” Jaime shouted.

“…Um I don’t know.” Tony said looking down.

Tony is shy and he isn’t into hanging out with new people often.

“Come on Tony, it’ll be great.” I said encouraging him.

“Oh alright. Anything in particular you want to hear?” Tony asked.

“Whatever you feel comfortable playing,” Vic answered.

“Hey how about that Pantera song, um… This Love. That song has been stuck in my head all day.” I suggested.

"Sure."

Tony started to play and Jaime picked up soon after; I couldn’t help but sing along quietly as they played.

“If ever words were spoken.

Tony and Jaime stopped and looked at me along with everyone else.

“Oh, sorry."

“Sometimes I forget you can sing Ker-Bear, keep going.”

“Okay.”

They picked up from where they left off and I followed. I wasn’t into the whole screaming gig so I sang it softer and it actually came out nice.

“Yeah Ker-Bear, you go girl, work it!”

I laughed at Mike, “Thanks Mike.”

"Babe, you sing?" Aaron asked.

"No."

“You just sang, how can you say no?”

"Because I don’t. So guys?"

“Let me have your numbers, I’ll call you soon so we can jam together.” Vic said.

“Why can’t you jam now?” I asked.

“Right now?” Tony asked.

“Yes now. Your shift ends in what, thirty seconds?”

"How do you know?"

“I secretly stalk you.”

“Literally,” Mike said under his breath.

I guess he already picked up on my liking for Tony. I kicked him anyway.

"Well okay.”

“Awesome. Vic, go get the car started.” Mike ordered.

“Michael, stop bossing Vic around. Vic, go get the car started, but I’m driving with Jaime or Tony. You’ll be okay with the boy’s babe?”

Aaron shrugged, “Sure.”

“Come on people we don’t have all day. Tony your shift is over, let’s go.” I said as his co-worker stepped through the door.

“Already bossing people around and you just got here,” Tony mumbled as he put the guitars away. “Hey Dave.”

"Sup."

We all walked out together as Tony punched out of work. All I could do was stare at him, I mean come on he’s just so cute. Would it be weird if I asked him out on a buddy date? Yeah I think so, but ugggghhhhh. Fuck me and relationships.

Mike noticed me staring like he does with every boy I look at and shook his head with a cocky grin.

I was just going to leave this one alone for another day.
