The sound of the voicemail picking up on the other end makes me more anxious. I’ve probably called twenty times by now. Sitting on the floor of my room, clothes scattered, the room went from nearly spotless to barely being able to see the floor in one night. I can’t be bothered about the mess right now, all I care about is getting the hell out of here. I can’t handle another night with my roommates, and they’ve made it quite clear that they don’t want me here. I know it’s my fault. I’ve become a burden to them, or maybe I was always a burden. Like they said, I was just brought in to help with rent. I thought I had them, but truth is that I never really did. The only people I have now are the four guys I spend 90% of my time with, Vic, Mike, Tony, and Jaime. Which brings me back to the phone calls. One last call before I give up, I dial and hear the ringing on the other end.

The ringing stops after two rings due to someone answering it. “Hime! Finally, you fucking pick up your phone.”

“Hales, it’s Tony. It’s 5 a.m. why are you calling?”

“Oh, uh, sorry Tony, I thought I had dialed for Jaime.”

“You did, he’s asleep. Like I should be. Why have you been calling?” I can hear the sleepiness in his voice, either he needs coffee or to just pass out.

“I need somewhere to go, I have to get away for a while. I don’t know how long I just know I can't stay here when my roommates are all over their boyfriends or they're not home, either way I’m alone and I can’t take it. I was going to ask Jaime if I could crash in his room for a night or two,” It’s not exactly a lie, part of it's true so I guess it should be fine.

“Why didn’t you call any of us other than him?” Hearing the hurt in his voice killed me.

“I didn’t want to put it on you guys, but I’m near being completely packed and I need to get out. Can I please come over? I’ll walk, you guys won’t even know I was there, I’ll leave before any of you even wake back up.”

“You’re not walking, I’m on my way.” Tony hung up the phone and I instantly got back to packing, making sure I have everything I need and throwing in a few extra things.

After trudging my bags downstairs I would usually write a note to Jenna and Taylor letting them know where I was going, but after what they said to me last night there’s no point. There’s a light knock on the door as I pull a sweatshirt over my head, hiding my bare torso. I open the door as quietly as possible and begin to pick up my bags to carry out to Tonys car. I pick 2 up and Tony grabs the other 3, throwing them into the back seat as I lock the door behind me. The drive to the house that the 4 guys share is silent, most likely because I’m still trying to figure out what I’m going to do and Tony is most likely because he’s so tired.

Tony leads me into the house at 5:45a.m. Carrying all my bags in along with us, “Tone, we don’t need to bring it all in. I’m just going to stay for the night.”

He looks over at me, shaking his head and saying, “Like hell you are, Haley. Do you really think we’re only going to let you stay for one night? I’m going to go up to bed, you can do what you want, I don’t care just let us sleep.” I nod, smiling at the reassurance of being welcome in the house. Turning on the TV I switch to a movie channel and lay on the couch, sleep finally catching up to me after being awake for so long.
