Winning you over was the hardest thing to do

Candace's pov-

I sat in my room as I began packing my items from my childhood. There were so many loving and painful memories in this house, it's sad that I have to leave it, I don't have to but I want to. The abuse has gotten worse, the drug use has take over, the beer bottles filled the house. I sighed as I grabbed an old Picture that was already framed. It was a family photo. My parents did not use drugs, my brother and sister didn't hate me, I was actually happy. I wish that I could go back in time and fix everything.

I threw the picture back in its place as I kept packing all sorts of clothes that are too small or too big on me. I packed my keyboard and other instruments. I went to my car and loaded the things in. My parents weren't home so this was the right time to do it. I left my spare key on the coffee table and a note in my old bedroom. I took back everything I ever gave to them. I started my car and looked back at my house for the final time. I didn't want to cry but I did anyway. Then I left my home town Phoenix Arizona for the last time. The only thing that could calm me down was listening to the radio. I shuffled through the stations hoping to find a decent song. Finally the radio host said "Here's the number one hit for the second week in a row, 'hold on till May' by Pierce the veil" he said.
Finally the lead singer had started. "She sits up high surrounded by the sun, one million branches and she loves everyone, mom and dad, did you search for me? I've been up here for so long I'm going crazy!"

This song already made me sad. I haven't heard of this band, but this song was good. I had finally arrived at my best friend TJ's house. She said I could stay here with her. She is originally from San Diego but decided to stay here sometimes with her brother Cody. I knocked on her door with my suitcase in hand.

she finally answered "CANDY!" She squealed giving me a huge hug. Candy is my nickname. I hugged her back. "It's been so long" she said into my hair. "It's only been two weeks" I said.
"so? I still missed you" she said pulling away this time. "Come in" she said as she opened the door. I nodded and walked in. It was actually a really nice house. It was quiet, which is unusual because Cody always practices around this time. I shrugged it off and threw my suit case in the guest bedroom. I went into the living room and sat by TJ. "Where's Cody?" I asked. "Staying with his friend in Tucson" I nodded understandingly.

There was silence filling the room. "Candy, now that you're here, can I ask you a quick question?" TJ suddenly asked. "Shoot" I said in response. "I was wondering if you would want to go to a concert with me?" She asked preparing herself for a no. "No" I said. "Why?!" She began to whine. "You know I don't like going to concerts, I prefer to listen to CD's in the comfort of my home" I said crossing my arms.
"Well you're in my house, so" she began to say. "No TJ" I said making myself clearer. "Please" she begged making puppy dog eyes and lowering her lip. "Ugh! Fine!" I finally gave in. She quickly rejoiced and started doing a little dance. "YES!!" she celebrated. She looked at me and grabbed my hand.
"We need to pick your outfit for the next two days" she said. "Two days?!?!" I asked in shock.

"Yep, we are going back to San Diego tomorrow and the next day is the concert" she said again. Oh god this is going to be hell.

NEXT DAY-
Candace's pov-

The light turned on in my bedroom making me wake up. "Turn the light off!" I groaned throwing a pillow beside me at the door. "Get up, we have to leave in 1 hour" TJ's voice said. I let out a sigh as I lifted myself out of bed. I checked the time. 2 o clock in the morning. "TJ! It's 2 I clock in the fucking morning!" I screamed "We have to be there at 3 in the afternoon" she said throwing me a shirt. I got ready and we left in my car.
