JULIE'S POV

Shoving all my books in my annoyingly small backpack, my attention was caught by the sound of soft knocks on the door. Before I managed to scramble to even the top of the stairs, my Mum had got there before me.

'Hi?' she asked.

'Hi, I'm Tony. I'm here to pick up Julie for school?' said Tony quietly, his voice a little shaky.

'Julie!' called my mum. I tip toed back to my room to fetch my things, listening in the best I could. 'So, are you two friends?'

'I- I'm her boyfriend, ma'm,' approaching the top of the stairs, I giggled slightly at how formal Tony was is situations like that, it was adorable.

'So, what are your hobbies? Are you two in the same year?'

'Yeah and, um, they're mainly musically orientated, I play guitar and write a little.'

Rushing down the stairs, my Mum turned to me and began, 'You never told me you had a boyfriend, Julie?'

I flashed a look to her before grabbing Tony's hand and hurrying out the door, yelling goodbye to her over my shoulder before it slammed shut. We laughed merrily as we stumbled down the path and on to the sidewalk, Tony's cheeks a bright shade of red. I stopped abrupty and he followed my movement, staring down at my frozen feet. I pulled him in close to me and pecked his warm cheek gently in multiple places.

'You're fine,' I smiled, lowering myself back on to my full foot. Smiling down at me, he stole a kiss from my lips before hurrying along the path. Although neither of us mentioned it, we both had remembered that this was the day we were going to announce our relationship, or at least make it a little more obvious. It had already began by accident and went fine (although Tony may argue otherwise), so we were both silently praying school would go as well.

'Hey,' said Austin, smiling. His hands quickly trailed down our arms and landed on our linked hands, 'Knew it.'

'Knew what?' chimed in Jaime as he entered the group which only consisted of us two, Vic and Austin. Vic pointed towards our hands and Jaime's expression instantly changed. 'Tony, can I talk to you for a minute?'

As Tony let go of my hand, my heart flew into my throat. I had noticed a change in Jaime's behaviour since me and Tony became close, but I was unsure whether it was because he had feelings for me or not. I grew anxious as the two wandered off together, close enough to seem like it was just a friendly chat.

TONY'S POV

'Look Tony, I need to talk to you...' I waited for Jaime to admit it. I just wanted him to admit he had feelings for Julie. 'I'm sorry about the way I've been acting lately, it's just that Julie is my only real friend and I was terrified that I'd loose her. I know she's yours though, you and her need your alone time. I just, I was going to tell her something that's been on my mind for quite a while now and I-'

'You like her don't you?' I blurted, getting a little annoyed at how much he was ranting.

'No,' he said, shaking his head as his hand ran through his hair. 'I- I think I'm gay.' I exhaled deeply, feeling a great sense of relief. 'I never felt as though there was any line to cross with her because I was never attracted into her. I'm really sorry, man. Please don't tell anyone? I'm not ready to come out...'

'Dude,' I smiled, placing one hand on his shoulder, 'You're fine, seriously. If you ever need to talk, I'm always here.'

'Thanks for being so cool about this,' he relaxed.

'It's alright,' I replied, 'Just tell Julie, okay?'

'Yeah,' he agreed.

Patting him on the shoulder once more, we smiled before heading back to the group.
