Was it really your time?

I'd kill for one more way to tell you how you make me better everyday

*Vic’s POV*
“V—Vic!”
And then there was a hit on our wooden floor.

“JENNA!” Quinn was still on my arm. I ran as fast as I could. I went back to the kitchen but she was nowhere to be found. Quinn was crying, loud, very loud. I couldn’t digest what’s happening. Where is she?

Shit. There she is. Oh my god. She’s lying on the floor and there’s just too many boold. My knees suddenly became weak. I put my daughter down before I could drop her. I walked to Jenna. Okay get it together, Vic. There was two things I have to do. What is it? Okay, call 911. I don’t think I have the energy to even get my phone and dial, but I have to do this.

“Hello? 911? My name’s Vic Fuentes and my wife’s bleeding on the floor. She’s nearly 7 months pregnant. Yes, she’s passed out. A-ambulance? Okay.” I looked at my daughter as I gave them our address. My mind’s just zooming out. What could we have possibly done wrong? I’m just thinking of questions that would make me panic even more. “Okay, thank you.”

Okay I have to call someone. Just dial Vic. Anyone. The most recent contact on my phone is Mike.

“Mike. You have to help me. Jenna’s bleeding and I need you to watch over Quinn, please. Come over, please. I don’t know what to do man.” I said as tears started to form a pool in my eyes.

“okay, okay. Calm down. I’ll be over in 5 minutes. Clear your head man. Calm down. Did you call 911 already?”

“yeah.” I put my hand over to my mouth. There is soooo much blood.
I hung up the phone.

“Jenna..” Fuck. I’m crying. What is gonna happen now? “Everything’s gonna be fine. You’re gonna be okay.” I said as I hold her in my arms. I turned to my still crying daughter. “Q, come here.” I held them both in my arms. “Mom’s gonna be fine, Q. I promise.”

Mike arrived in less than five minutes. He took Quinn, and the bag we packed for her for emergencies like this. It’s good thing we did that. It was Jen’s idea. Even though we travel a lot, I know that Quinn loves her. She’s such a good mother. She never missed a birthday, a school event, or even Quinn’s first tooth. She’s always there for her. We can’t lose her, not now, not ever.

The ambulance arrived not long after Mike and Quinn left. The ride to the hospital was long. I’m trying to stop my mind from thinking, and over panicking but I just can’t.

*end of flashback*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You really sure you want to stand?” I asked again.
“VICTOR! OH MY GOD!” She exclaimed.
“Uh guys, we’re just gonna go outside, okay? I think Quinn wants to check out the hospital playground.” Mike said.
“I do?” Quinn was surprised, then Mike gave him a look as if saying ‘just play along’, “Oh yeah! Cmon uncle Mike!”
“That’s why you’re her favorite uncle.” I slowly shook my head. “Mike!”
“Yo!”
“No sweets this time, aight?” I reminded Mike. The last time he took her out, he pumped her up with sweets and I had to pretend like I’m Alice in Wonderland ‘til 12 am.
“You got it!” Mike said. And then they went out.
I turned to my wife who’s now grasping the bed railing. “I am just concerned.” I said
apologetically. She rolled her eyes out on me and then looked at my one more time before shouting in pain.
“Jen! What’s wrong?!” I said holding her in my arms. She collapsed in them and as I almost shouted for a nurse or a doctor, she opened her eyes and laughed in my face.
“Got ya!” She said still laughing.
“SO NOT FUNNY!”I said pouting. But it really isn’t! We’re in the middle of a crisis here.
“You look so cute when you’re worried. I’m fine. And the baby’s fine. This is just normal pregnancy pain or whatever. They said that they’re gonna check my placenta again later.” She said.
I think she noticed my expression dropped.
“It’s going to be fine. I’m sure my placenta’s progressed, and I’m going to have a normal delivery.” She assured me. She turned around to face me and wrapped her arms around my neck. I put mine around her waist to support her.
“You still think I’m..” She mumbled as she looked down.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Come on what is it?”
“S..”
“S-what?”
Then she gave me a look. A look that’s not really so hard to get. A look that I’ve seen a thousand times before. A look that got us our first baby.
“Oh you bet your ass you are.” I said proudly.
“Really? Even though I’m three times my weight and if we’re lucky, by the end of the day, I have given birth two times already? Oh my god, by the end of the day we’re gonna have our second baby!” She said so enthusiastically, all my agony and worry disappeared as I saw that smile I haven’t seen in about a week. That smile, is her real smile. The smile that gets me through a tough day, the smile that lights up my entire universe, the smile that I go home to after a long period of touring and performing from city to city. I can’t ever imagine a world without this smile.
And so I smiled too. I tuck her hair behind her ear. “You’re still sexy babe. And you will always be to me.”
