Look into the emptiness & step into the cold
The moon light danced against my pale skin, as I wondered the streets of down town San Dieago. The streets were still bright from lamp post and you could see small groups of drunks making their way home. I tried to avoid them at all cost.
I made my way off F street and onto 5th passing The Tipsy Crow. I had heard it was an old historic bar, but that was all I ever heard about it. As I walked past the front doors, a man was being thrown out probably due to his intoxication level. I quickly made my way around him and proceeded down the street.
"Hey!" I heard the drunken man call from behind me, "Wait up!"
I ignored the man in hopes he'd leave me alone.
"Lady, wait!" I heard the man call out to me again. I grabbed the pepper spray key chain out of my pocket. The bottle had never been used and I honestly don't know how to use it.
I could hear his steps catching up to mine. For a drunk he sure could keep up. Before I realized how close he was, I felt his hand on my should, "Lady, you drop -" I turned to face him and let the pepper spray hit his face.
I quickly dropped the bottle and began wiping away at his face, "I am so sorry!"
The man in front of me was not the drunk but someone completely different. He was tall and lanky with blonde spiky hair, "It's fine." He squinted and stuck out some money,
"You dropped this."
"I am so sorry for this. Please let me buy you something to eat." I placed the cash back into my pocket.
"No really it's fine." He rubbed at his eyes, "I should have said something about the money." The whites of his eyes were now crimson.
I looked at him for a moment admiring him, "Please," I smiled, "let me get you something to eat. My name is Fiona." I stuck out my hand.
He chuckled and smiled, "You aren't gonna give up til I have dinner with you huh?" I shook my head, "Name's Mike." His hand completely engulfed mine, "Now lets go get something to eat."
