I care for all of my patents and often end up forming bonds that last longer than their hospital stay. Making people feel better has always been a strong point for me. As a kid I was the one standing up for people and trying to make good out of a bad situations. I think that's why I love my job as much as I do. I also like to believe that I'm a good nurse, or at least I try to be. A lot of my now friends were once a patents in the hospital I work at, is that weird? Maybe a little.

After getting home from work I called Mark, he is my friend, well more of a boyfriend without the title. He was one of the first people I met after moving to Seattle. We had English 101 our freshman year at Washington uni. Ever since we met we have had a strange relationship.

"Hey Man you coming over tonight?"
"Yea hun, I'll bring the wine you pick the movie." he replied
"It's my night off can we go out to eat or to a club, anything but staying home" I pleaded
" How about we do something we haven't done in years?" he asked
" What would that be?" I asked in an unsure tone.
" LAZER TAG!" He practically yelled through the phone.
" Okay it going to be like old times I will beat you then you will want to go home" I joked.
"Alright so we both will win tonight you get to beat me at something and I still get a movie night." He was quite the con artist
"Sounds like a plan, I'm going to go take a shower then go to bed." I really did need to be going
"See you tonight doll face" he said before hanging up

It was 5 o'clock and I need to be getting ready for my date with Mark tonight. since I worked 12s I only work three days a week, another perk of night shift. I got up and got ready the usual makeup and hair business that every girl does before going out. After getting dressed I sat on the couch and ate a snack. I knew better than to actually eat a full meal before going out. Mark was a fan of stopping at a few places to get a snack. I swear he doesn't actually eat full meals like a normal person he just snacks around all day. It was a little past 6:30 when Mark showed up. "Hey chicky let's get going" he said as I opened the door. I grabbed my satchel and headed out the door.

The arcade was only a few minutes away but like I predicted Mark wanted to stop and get ice cream before going. Me being me I couldn't say no, so we stopped at this cute little shop and each got a cone. We decided to go on a walk to a park that was close while we finished our ice cream. The park was quiet and peaceful, because it was getting dark, so there was nearly no one there. After finishing our ice creams we headed back, We passed a record store, in the wind there was a sign saying "New! Pierce the Veil Album Sold Here" I stopped and looked at it. "Something caught your eye?" Mark asked. "Pierce the Veil, a boy at work was talking about them let's go in. I think they have movies you can look for one for later and I'll get a CD" I said "Okay let's go"

We both entered with missions of our own, after some searching for a bit I finally found the display with Selfish Machines by Pierce the Veil on it. I grabbed a copy and looked at it. "I hope this is it" I thought to myself. "Did you find it?" a voice for behind me asked. I turned to see Mark with a copy of House of 1000 Corpses. "Really House of 1000?" I asked " It was in the clearance bin" He retaliated. "Okay let's go pay" We headed to the front of the store and payed. The guy working the cash register noted that both choices were excellent.
After leaving the store I asked, "Hey can we stop by the hospital before lazer tag?" "sure, but why you were just there?" Marked asked. "I bought this CD for a kid" "Alright let's go". We got to the hospital "You can just drop me off in the circle around this won't take long" Mark did as he was told and I went in alone.

I got to Alex's room and knocked, He was on the phone to whom I presumed was his mother. "It's in my room just bring it to me. In the night stand. No the other one" Even after seeing me he continued his conversation. I grabbed a sharpie out of my bag and wrote on the bag from the store "Hope this makes you feel a little better, ask Mary for the CD player." I sat the bag on the side of the bed then left. Again like I predicted I beat Mark at laser tag and we retreated home to watch a movie.
