Going Back To the Past

Where the fuck is he? I asked myself. I was sitting outside of Alex's house, we were going to be late getting on the road if he didn't hurry up. IT was around 5:30 in the morning, instead of staying two nights in George we were supposed to leave early this morning so we could make the 2 and a half hour drive.

"Finally, It's about time you showed up. I was about to leave you." I said as Alex got into the car. After sitting his bag in the back, he put on his seat belt and we were off.

At first, we were both really quite, we sat in silence just listening to the radio. The morning news report was playing. That when Alex broke the silence "So what bands do you want to see?"
"This is your day we can see any band that you want to."
"But that won't be any fun for you tho."
"Trust me I will have plenty of fun just being there."
" I bought this CD, It has everyone that is playing on tour on it, Can we listen to it?"
"Sure pop that sucker in."

He put the CD in, there were a bunch of bands that I had never heard of. That's probably one of my favorite parts of Warped you seriously get to listen to so many new people, and it's great.

After about an hour I thought it would be a good Idea to stop for breakfast. I pulled off the interstate and saw a small dinner with a gas station next to it. "You go get food and I will fill up the car" I ordered Alex. I gave him money and then told him what I wanted.

After I pumped gas I walked over the dinner. Alex was sitting at the counter. In front of him was a huge pile of pancakes and a coffee. Beside of him was a plate which I assumed was my food. "You should have gotten more than that, you will need the energy," Alex said while I sat down. "I can't do big breakfasts, they make me sick. Eggs and toast will hold me over til we get closer." It was true eating a bunch of food when you first wake up was not my thing.

Alex paid while I went to the bathroom. Only an hour and a half til we get there and I don't want to have to stop again. After I was finished we were back on the road. At this point, it was almost 7 in the morning.

Around 8:45 Alex fell asleep, He was such a great copilot. I'm joking. the first rule to long drives the person in the passenger seat has to stay awake. Traffic had started to pick up so I turned off the music a while ago, so I could keep focused on the road.

We had finally made it I parked a few blocks away it was around 9, and it was already crazy here. I thought It would be a good idea to go Ahead and wake up Alex so we could take our place in line.

Alex was so excited to be here, he practically ran to the where the line had already begun to form. Only a few hours and Warped tour would start.

As we waited we had talked to a few people. I had gotten a few bands CDs. Yea no one may know them now but one day they could make it. So why not go ahead and take their CD it's free. The time passed relatively quickly. Before I knew it the line had already started to move, with people Entering the venue.

" What stage are we going to first?" I asked Alex
"Just follow me" He started walking away so I followed.

I wasn't kidding earlier when I had told him I would have a good time just being there. The vibe that came from the experience was great. At warped you could like anything and there was something for you.

"This is the stage," Alex announced when we got the beginning of the crowd.
"Who's playing here," I asked
" Few people so we can hang out here before the surprise," Alex Said as he started to make his why through the crowd.
