Going Back To the Past

Mike was standing in the middle of Megan's huge yard, we both started to walk towards each other. Once we met Mike reached in for a hug which I accepted. "Annabel, how have you been? What even happened to you? You pretty much fell off the face of the earth after high school." Mike asked.
"I've been doing really good, I moved to Seattle and when to college. Now I'm a nurse working nights and sleeping in the day." I replied
"It's amazing, you seriously look the same as you did that day that we met in high school. Just now you have grown to be a total babe." Mike always had a way of flirting with everyone, but I took It as a complement.
"Well have grown up Majorly since then,'' I added.

He really did look so much different than he did when we were younger. He had long hair and tattoos. Actually a lot of tattoos, even a few piercing.

"I bet Mother doesn't like your get up'' I said
"She has grown to accept it. I mean I'm an adult now and can do as I please.''

At this time Mark had made his way back out into the yard. "Mark, this is Mike, I went to school with him, he was a few years behind me. Mike, this Mark. He's practically my best friend.'' They both shook hands and then started taking I was pulled away from the conversation by Megan. It finally hit her the I was actually standing in her back yard once again.

The party went on I talked and caught up with a bunch of people I hadn't talk to since High school. Everything was going great. When I first saw the extent of the "dinner" I was really worried. Worried that I would Miss it here and want to come back. I did miss it but not enough to leave Mark and Seattle.

It was starting to get late so I went to search for Mark. I found him in the living room playing some game with Mike. "Hey Mark, It's starting to get late do you want to head out?" I asked. "Yea sure let's go," he said while putting down the controller and standing up. "Boo, Anna ruining the fun," Mike said sarcastically.
"Mike I'm not afraid to kick your ass again" I threatened.
"Okay.... Um, yea Have a good night, send your mother my love." Mike quickly changed the subject.
After waving goodbye we started to leave when mike came running up to us saying. "Hey wait, Anna, Me and Vic are having band practice tomorrow and I thought maybe you could come over and watch. we are leaving for tour soon, And it could be like old times. I think Vic would love to see you."
"Okay if I have time tomorrow I could come." I gave him my number. He hugged me again and whispered in my eye "Maybe only you should come, For Vic's sake."

We got back to the house and started to settle in for bed. Mark and I were sharing the same bed, Again our strange dating but not really was coming into play. Laying in my bedroom, even after all the changes seemed oddly comforting. These four walls were my heaven and hell growing up. I was just staring at the ceiling when Mark broke the silence,
"SO how long have you know mike?"
"For a long while, we met when I was a freshman, and he was still in middle school.''
"How did you meet?"
"I was friends with his brother, so we ended up being around each other a lot." Why did Mark care so much about Mike, He had never asked me about my past so the sudden interest was unexpected.
"He seems to really care about you"
"Yea, I mean we were friends" the conversation started to get a little awkward.
"So are you going to go to his band practice?"
"I don't know, I may or I may not. It would be good to see them playing again."
"You should go, I want to go do touristy things go, You can go while I do my own thing." Mark always tried to do as much stuff as possibly when he traveled. He would say he was trying to get the biggest bang for his buck.

The next morning I woke up and Mark had already left. I checked my phone and had a message from Mike saying,
"Hey, Anna we are practicing at noon at our old house if you want to come, I told the guys and they can't wait to meet you. Even Vic is excited."

Well looks like I'm going.
