We'll Start A New Revolution

You Need A Doctor, Baby? You Scared?

Kellin

'He's in a critical condition. He fell off stage and... and... I don't know what to do, Vic!' I shouted into the phone, tears threatening to spill over. 'He's in an ambulance and... We're heading to the hospital now.' I saw Justin motioning to me, car keys in hand.

'Okay.' Vic said, his voice cracking. He hung up, and Justin helped me into his car.

'Is he going to be okay?' I asked Justin, still shaken from his unexpected fall. If I was in this bad a condition, I didn't even want to contemplate the thoughts going through Justin's head. I realised that this was probably the worst thing to ask him. Justin was so much closer to him, and he was probably shit scared for his friend.

'I'm sorry, Justin.' I said quickly. 'I wasn't thinking. Justin had both hands on the wheel, gripping tightly. His knuckles were almost turning white. I reached out and touched his arm while we were at a red light - the ambulance had just zoomed through, its sirens blaring - earning a flinch. Justin turned to me with a wild look in his eyes. Maybe it hasn't been the greatest idea to let him drive.

'He'll be fine.' I said, hoping that it wasn't a lie. The last thing I needed to do was jinx his friend's well being.

We arrived at the hospital and I saw a familiar car slide into the parking space next to us. I got out first and opened the door for Vic, throwing my arms around him as soon as he was able to stand properly. I looked down at him and he reached up ad brushed away the wetness on my cheeks. I hadn't even realised I'd been crying.

'Please, don't comfort me. It's Justin who needs it.' I said, contradicting my past actions, letting go of Vic and walking over to Justin.

'Where are the others?' I asked, engulfing his shaking body into a hug. Vic placed his arms around both of us. Justin shoved his head into my chest, grabbing at my shirt.

'They were in the ambulance with him... They just texted me and he's been taken into the emergency room. No one's allowed to see him.'

We walked into the hospital waiting room, being greeted by three other worried, tear streaked faces. Justin ran over to them, and they hugged each other, sniffling as they did so. Vic and I stood to the side awkwardly. A nurse walked by and, noticing our discomfort, smiled and came to a stop.

'Hello, I'm Stacey. Is there anything you need?' She asked, smiling widely. I shook my head, indicating for her to move on and do her job - not realizing that this was what she had been assigned to do - while Vic said,

'Ahh, yes, actually. Our friend has been put into the emergency room and if we could be told anything about him to put at us at a calmer peace of mind, that would be great.'

'Of course!' Stacey replied, leading us to the reception counter. 'I just need the name of your friend.'

I replied to Stacey's question, twisting my ring around my finger.

'I've got the room number, I'll go check out the situation now.' Stacey disappeared down the hallway, shoes making dull noises on the tiles.

I turned back to Vic, before looking over at the group of four. They had settled into chairs in the waiting room. Justin's knee was bouncing up and down, unable to keep still. He also had his phone out, no doubt telling his wife about the situation.

Stacey appeared back next to us.

'I can't reveal anything at this point in time. I'm sorry. The nurses don't want anyone getting their hopes up.'

My optimism deflated like a lead balloon. He wasn't going to survive. They may as well have just said he was dead. Vic led me over to a seat and pushed me down into it, before patting down my pockets and retrieving my phone. He walked off, scrolling through the saved numbers. I didn't tell the guys, and neither did Vic when he returned a few minutes later. He handed me back my phone and I accepted it, pocketing the device. Vic sat next to me and held my hand, rubbing the back of it. It was a blow to him to contemplate his friend's death; but he hadn't been as close to him as me, and neither of us had been as close to him as the rest of the band.

'Who did you call?' I asked, looking up at Vic. It had been a few hours, and the wait was excruciating. Vic had called the person twice since the first time, and I only now registered that it might be of importance. I was laying down in his lap, sleep deprivation combined with stress overwhelming my senses. He had been stroking my hair, coaxing me into a subconcious state.

'I'll tell you when you wake up.' He said, moving my hair out the way and kissing my forehead. 'Shhh.' My heart fluttered, but the reason I was unsure of as I slipped finally into a restless sleep.

Vic

I combed his hair with my fingers, looking at his angelic face eventually go slack and his breathing slow. His head rolled to the side, his whole body relaxing. I looked over at Justin and the guys. They had stopped crying out of fear a few hours ago, and they were all dead on their feet. They were curled in their chairs, one by one nodding off, only to be haunted in their dreams. I stayed awake and watched over them, ready to help at a second's notice. It was going to be a long night.

Oh no, Vic told him the "fictional" story, but Kellin was already dying. He died as the words "what if I told you...' passed Vic's lips. He wasn't listening to Vic. He was thinking of Vic, thus the muttering under his breath. That was him saying Vic's name.

And Mike knew. About Josh.
