We'll Start A New Revolution

Last Year's Wishes Are This Year's Apologies

We were finally home. I missed the San Diego sun beating down on my back, but most of all I missed home. So much for seeing Vic first thing in the morning, I woke up late and had to rush for an early show. I then discovered that he had played the set time before mine and had gone home. So, in reality, I didn't see Vic until one thirty. I called out his name when I entered the house, opening the curtains in the living room as I did so. Why was it so dark in here?

I turned around and saw Vic standing in the middle of the room, an arm looped casually around a blonde girl, her hair up in a ponytail and a wide grin on her face. Evie. Beside them, stood a taller redhead, a dark hair and skinned beauty, and a shorter tanned brunette. All girls had wide smiles on their faces.

'Did you plan this?' I asked Vic, it would make sense as to why he hid from me. Sort of. My face already ached from the smile that had grown over it. But Vic shook his head, releasing the girls to run over to me and greet me. I placed kisses on each of their cheeks, keeping an arm around Ginger and Evie.

'I've missed you so much!'

'Aww, we've missed you too, Kells.'

'They just showed up here. I had nothing to do with it.' Vic interjected, finally answering my question.

'We marked the day at which we thought you'd come home.' Evie shrugged, as though it was no big deal. She earned another kiss on the forehead for saying so.

Three Years Later

I never knew three years ago that my life would only get better. Sleeping With Sirens had broken up, mutually agreeing that the rough times were only going to get rougher. After all, Jack and Jesse had been given offers to join other bands, and Gabe was trying to start a committed relationship. Justin had become a husband a year ago, and now wanted to stay at home with his wife who was pregnant. I, on the other hand, had tired of all the travelling. I had finished my accounting degree and had managed to score a stable job at a firm. Vic had continued with his band, and even released his own clothing label to help with the money situation while I climbed the social ladder. I was in charge of all money-related business with it, which was very nice of him. Come home from work only to have yet more work to do. Josh had also been kicked out of the band. I had no idea why, just that Mike strongly disliked him and had spearheaded the whole thing. They had let Jaime back on, albeit begrudgingly.

I waited in the small extra room at our house, waiting for Vic to arrive back home. While he was away, I had done some painting and revamping of the room, and I had a proposition to make with him. We had discussed it breifly before he left for Warped, and I was excited to see his reaction.

We were sitting at the dining table, pasta in front of us. It was a quiet dinner, neither of us was talking much.
Vic was the first to break the silence.

'I've been thinking,' he said haltingly, as though unsure as whether to go on or not.

'You've been thinking,' I prompted after a few more seconds pause on his end.

'Never mind.' Vic decided, clearing winning some sort of battle in his mind and shaking his head, having a forkful or pasta.

'No, tell me what you were thinking.'

'Of maybe. I don't know. It's silly.'

'Of course it's not silly.' I said, slightly worried. He could spit out anything, and Vic wasn't usually one to hold things back. Vic mumbled something under his breath at me, and I leaned forward, as though the words were going to dance from his mouth to my ears if only I was close enough. 'What did you say?'

'Of maybe having a child.' He raised his voice, not daring to meet my eyes. 'Like I said, silly. Never mind.' I blinked, my mind processing the statement. In reality, I had never thought of it. I had accepted my sexuality a long time ago, and accepted the fact that I may not have kids. Now that the option was here, right in front of me, I had no clue how to answer. Vic, meanwhile, had already moved onto another conversational topic, his cheeks slightly pink.

'Kellin?' I heard Vic call as he walked into the house.

'In here!' I shouted back, not able to contain my excitement.

'Where's "here"?'

'Spare room.' I watched Vic enter the room, his suitcase left behind presumably in the lounge room. He stared at the room, before his eyes fell on me. He raised an eyebrow, and I smiled in response, walking forward and giving him the first kiss I'd had in months, finally wrapping my arms around his warm body, not just looking at a cold screen, that cruelly showed me everything I wanted but couldn't have at the exact moment.

'I love you,' I murmured, the words sounding more real than they had in a long time.

'Love you too, Kells. Now, what is this?'

Ah yeah. I've got fics up and running on my mibba and wattpad. Not any PTV related though. Though I do have a Perrentes coming out in about a month or so. Maybe more. Keep a look out for December? I don't know yet. I'm participating in NaNoWriMo so I may not have time.

Oh no, Vic told him the "fictional" story, but Kellin was already dying. He died as the words "what if I told you...' passed Vic's lips. He wasn't listening to Vic. He was thinking of Vic, thus the muttering under his breath. That was him saying Vic's name.

And Mike knew. About Josh.
