Diamonds and Gold

I unlocked the door as quietly as possible. I feared waking Wade up and having to see him. But he wasn't home. He probably wouldn't be until late tomorrow.

I could feel the alcohol wearing off as I gathered up most of my things. I stuffed as many clothes into my two suite cases as I could. The closet and drawers looked almost bare with only Wade's things in them.

The sound of my phone made me jump causing me to drop the eye shadow palette in my hands. It crashed against the hard bathroom floors and covered the white tile in all different shades, "Fuck." I whispered to myself.

"Hey, Ashley," I said placing the phone on speaker as I try to gather up what was left of my palette.

"Did you make it home okay?" I could hear the worry in her voice.

"Yeah," I gave up on the palette and left it in the floor, "Do you mind if I crash at your place for a while?"

Ashley was quiet for a moment, "Yeah that's fine. I'm hardly there anyways. I'll drop a key off under the mat."

I grabbed my phone and walked back into the bedroom with the rest of my makeup, "Thanks. I'm fixing to head that way."

"You know you can talk to me." Ashley almost sounded like my mother for a brief moment.

I sighed, "I will when I'm ready."

With that I hung up and proceed to take my things to the car.
