Song For Isabelle

I fill the cup with ice and coffee for the old lady who waited patiently at the counter. Once it was full I turned around and finished it off with a load of whipping cream, just like she had asked for.
"Have a nice day, Agnes!" I called after her, waving.

A man maybe mid thirties rushed in, almost knocking the eighty-two year old women over. I frowned in disapproval as he cut in front of the people waiting in line.
"Yeah, can I get a -" I cut him off.

"Only if you go to the back of the line." I say and point across the shop where the line and significantly gotten bigger as each minute ticked away.

His face turned from stressed out to rage as he began to yelled profanities at me."For your information I have a buisness meeting to attend to in twenty minutes, I don't have time to deal with your stupid fucking line or your bitchy attitude!"

"You think all these people have time-" he picked up the tip jar and threw it at me. It sailed about three feet then slowly plummeted, landing with a great thud on my foot.

I yelped in pain, but continue to tell the man to leave. Thing had gotten nastier and he was now trying to climb over the counter to get the coffee himself.

When I thought all hell had broken loose and I grabbed 'The Problem Solver.' A young man pulled the other man off of the counter by the nape of his neck and pulled him out of the shop. "Stay out, you grumpy dick." He yelled and walked back through the glass double doors. The, he proceeded to stand at the back of the line.

Once it was finally his turn, he grabbed his wallet and ordered. "Put that away," I smiled. "It's on the house." I handed him the coffee but he didn't move away from the counter.

"May I ask what the name of my knight in shining armor is?" I said with a cheesy grin.

"Vic." He said with an even goofier smile. "Vic Fuentes."
