To the future.

Nearly at Vic and Mike’s, Mike takes a different turn.

“Is it okay if I stop at the corner store I need to buy some spin and these guys are literally fucking dumb. Vic and I went here and they seriously thought Vic was my little brother. So I buy my smokes from here”

“Yeah that should be fine, I want to buy some lollies.” Tony adds in. I think them being kept down has mentally impacted both these idiots. I can’t talk though.

We pull up and we all get out. I have no money so really I should still be in the car. They singularly file into the shops and I end up following Mike who is now in front of me. We all enter breaking off to look around the store. I see the lolly section and make my way to Tony who is having some trouble picking. He stands there deciding, going to reach and grab a bag but stops mid way and takes his hand back. I laugh at how bad he is at deciding.

“Shut up. They’re all good and I cant decide.” He pouts.

“Well why don’t you get a mixed bag and then your top 3 favorite’s?”

“Or why don’t you choose two and I will choose two. Then its solved” He smiles ear to ear.

“Sure then.” I grab a bag of red frogs and a bag of mixed colours clouds.

“Nice. I was thinking of the clouds but I kind of feel like ears”

My face drops. “Dude don’t. I haven’t had them in ages!” Tony laughs.

“Well I’ll grab the ears and when its time for the movie we’ll share.” He puts his arm around my shoulders. “Don’t tell Jaime either cause he likes all of these and he might steal them okay.” Tony is looking for Jaime’s whereabouts. I nod and put my choice down on the counter, Tony following after me and paying.

I look back and Tony still has his arm around me. We look like the sneakiest dick heads the cashier is even getting sketchy.
We take the lollies and just leave everyone behind and jump back into the car.

“You think he saw?” I cant stop laughing.

“Did you see the cashiers face. We started to sketch him out. I think he thinks that we stole something” I crack out into more laughter.

Jaime and Mike assemble out of the store giving us weird looks making Tony and I giggle.

“What you idiots doing” Jaime asks making us laugh.

“Are you guys high or something? Hey Liberty have you ever smoked weed before?” My heart started to thump hard.

“Uh no. I didn’t really grow up with anyone who was cool enough for that kind of stuff” I might have offended Mike a little bit.

“I don’t smoke it to be ‘cool’. You’ll understand. By the time its midnight, imma get you hiiiiigh”

“Do you guys smoke?” I look at Jaime and Tony.

“Only when he peer pressures me” Jaime says playing around with Mike.

“Dude. Shut up. I wouldn’t do that to you dickhead.” Jaime laughs at his reaction.

“I know dude, I’m just tugging on your tic tacs” Jaime gives him a light punch.

All of a sudden Mike slams the breaks on the break causing Jaime to fly of his seat and hit the dash board. Luckily before Tony and I put our seat belts on.

“What was that for!?” Everyone has busted out laughing but Jaime.

“I wonder” Mike rolls his eyes and takes off towards our destination.

Before we know it we’re pulling up to the house, the car full of an entertaining conversation.

We all get out laughing and carrying on all filing into the house same way we did at the shops. Mike in front of me turns around and catches my attention.

“You can help yourself to anything you’d like. I know you’re a little shy so if you need anything you can ask me.” He smiles and takes off to his room. My face slightly heats at how he just openly tells me he knows I’m shy. Maybe I’m over reacting but that made me abit… Shy..

I follow the noises of the boys talking and touch my heated face to try and cool my cheeks a little with the back of my hands. As I’m about to take my seat I hear my name being called. Sounds like Mike’s voice.

I questionably look at Tony and Jaime.

“Go” Jaime nods his head towards the hallway.

I confusingly turn to the hallway and try to find Mike. I come to the second door to the left and pop my head around.

“What are you doing, come in” Mike laughs “Take a seat”

I awkwardly come in and sit on the bed next to him. “Sorry I’m always like this coming into peoples house and I haven’t been here before.” I try to explain.

“Yeah cause your shy.”

“Are you making fun of me for being shy?” I ask, why does he keep mentioning this. Pointing out the obvious it makes me want to curl up and sleep.

“Because your cheeks. They go rosy red and frankly it’s cute.” What the hell. How can he do this so calmly?

“Do you like the sight of a shy girl squirming over your words?” That came out really wrong and kinky in a way. This made him laugh.

“Shut up.” I play around. “So why’d you call me in here?”

“Oh yeah.” Mike leans over to his bedside draw and opens the top draw pulling out a cigarette.

“Wanna smoke it with me, it’s a spliff” He looks excited.

I’m not scared to try drugs, it was obviously going to happen sooner or later.

“Yeah, why not.” I shrug.

He places the spliff between his lips and lights the lighter not breaking eye contact with me.

“Any rules I should know?”

“Just puff puff pass and don’t slobber on the end and close you lips around it like this” He demonstrates.

“Ive smoked a normal cigarette before I’m not that oblivious.”

He hands it to me. I take a hit before doing the ‘Puff puff pass’ and honestly I want to cough my lungs up. I exhale and try to keep my shit together.

“You alright?” He’s watching closing, a small smirk forming on his lips.

“mhm” I mumble and take more hits, following the ‘puff puff pass’ rule. “Are my fingertips supposed to be numb?” I slightly cough getting the itch out of my throat.

He laughed. “Its working, that happened to me also when I first got high.”

“Ha ha, you’re my first” I shut my mouth and stare at Mike but can’t help but to laugh. “Why is that so funny?” I laugh even more making Mike laugh.

“You’re fucking high” Mike laughs and we continue to finish the spliff.
