Let Me In

Nirvana Pool

Sarah and I had gone to brunch on our own and it had been delicious; after last night we’d woken up with an appetite and so walking into the breakfast area overwhelmed us with the beautiful scent of fatty bacon, fresh pancakes and other stuff. Sarah wasn’t very picky with her food but finding her favorite breakfast food, french toast, was quite exciting for her. I had what I like to call a little bit of everything, which Sarah called ‘three plates of everything’ but who was keeping count right?

“Let me tell you that sex burns more than 100 calories every half hour, so we can say I burned at least one of these plates last night,” I said with a wink as my excuse whilst commenting on the duration of our night. Sarah rolled her eyes and took a sip of her cappuccino and we enjoyed the huge meal.

The two of us had come downstairs already dressed in pool attire and so after Sarah and I had finished eating, we headed outside towards the area called Nirvana Pool where everyone was waiting for us; it was really big and the entire perimeter of the pool was surrounded by sunbeds and people running around. Little kids splashing water at the shallow areas whilst the adults headed more into the middle where it was slightly deeper. Vic, Jaime, Tony and the girls were at the south edge of the pool from the building which was a more secluded area, and so we headed over there holding hands the entire way.

“Hey sleepy love birds!” Tony yelled, waving at us; everyone else smiled in response.

“How are you guys?” I asked, wrapping my arm around Sarah’s waist.

“Well, clearly not as good as you two!” Vic winked making everyone else laugh “it sounded like you two had a fabulous night,” he continued with a large smile, and at this point Sarah’s face had turned completely red. I tried to hold in my laughter but it was hard.

“Oh, leave them alone Vic,” Danielle added, feeling a little bad for Sarah but clearly grinning; whatever Vic had heard, Daniella probably did too.

Sarah and I dropped our stuff besides Vic and Danielle where the sun was the strongest; I covered the sunbeds with our towels and took off my shirt before sitting down. I was aware of all the purple stamps around my neck and upper chest but at this point I was shameless - plus, it wasn’t like anyone here had ever had a couple of their own. I turned towards the pool and found Sarah in front of me beginning to undress; she was wearing a high waisted pair of jean shorts and a white beach cardigan on top of a low cut, black and pink bikini with black bands that curved upwards, leaving a patch of uncovered skin, that defined her curves a little more. This felt like that point at the movies when they put the slow song and everything is in slow motion; she was so damn attractive that I couldn’t stop staring at her, coating herself with her sunscreen lotion. This was probably one of the hottest sights I’d ever seen. She of course had put a little waterproof makeup on her hickies, however I was very good at my job and they were so dark it was impossible to fully cover them but no one commented on them.

“Hey, would you mind doing my back?” she asked softly, snapping me out of my trance. I nodded without words and she sat down in front of me and pulled her hair into a ponytail so I could cover her back fully. I squeezed a little sunscreen on my hands and slowly ran my hands down her back and sides, taking the advantage to tickle her sides just a little; this made her shake a little and giggle.

“Wow,”I said.

“What?”

“It’s just that you look so hot in that swimsuit, I can’t stop staring at you” I whispered in her ear, making her giggle a little.

“Oh get a room, you two!” Jaime yelled before taking a sip of his beer. We had told everyone last night that we were officially together and ever since they just hadn’t shut up about it; not that we really cared though, we were just happy to finally get that out of our system.

“Do you wanna go for a swim before we lay down?” I asked Sarah as she began to stand up from my sunbed. She turned around and nodded as she extended her hand for me to take it and lead the way. We walked together, hand in hand, to the edge of the pool and she dipped her left foot in the water and immediately removed it.

“Oh God, it’s cold,” she squirmed a little.

“Oh, really?”

“Yes,”

“Well, you’re going to have to forgive me for what I’m about to do,” I said as I swept her off her feet quickly and jumped in, taking her along with me. She screamed but it was too late because we were already submerged in the water; it was a little chilly, but nothing that you couldn’t handle. I opened my eyes, feeling the chlorinated water make contact with my eyes and found Sarah doing the exact same thing. I stuck my tongue out to her and she did the same. It wasn’t too deep so we were able to swim back to the surface and I couldn’t help but laugh at both our childishness and my little mean trick.

“Oh my God, you’re such a jerk!” she screamed at me half laughing, as she splashed water in my face.

“Nah, you know it was funny!” I responded, pulling her by the hand, grabbing her by her waist once she was close enough and planted my lips on hers. She wrapped her legs around me and her arms around my neck as she responded to my kiss; I realized that we were, again, probably breaking some PDA rules but I didn’t care. Ever since we defined our relationship and considering what happened last night we had been a little more affectionate than usual. With her strapped around me, I walked slowly to a shallower area where I found a sitting block. She released me and I sat down on it as she followed by sitting on my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck. We were far away from everyone that we could talk about what happened the night before.

“So just to clarify,” I started “Was last night as fabulous as Vic claims it sounded like?” She blushed at my question.

“Oh, yeah. Definitely” she winked, stealing a small peck from me. I moved her hair from her neck and noticed that her makeup was not waterproof enough to stay whilst she was submerged in a pool.

“Your makeup is fading,” I warned her but she didn’t seem to care much at this point.

“Eh, we’ve all had them at some point right?”

“Exactly my point,”

“As the saying goes, great minds think alike,” she winked and giggled ever so slightly.

We sat there talking about different stuff- mainly stupid things like we usually talked about until we got on the subject of the upcoming concert. She seemed a little nervous about it, but I tried to explain to her the entire schedule: we’d leave in a couple of hours to the venue, set up, have a sound check, we’d run through the logistics of the show and then we’d play and after that we’d go out for drinks; everything was pretty routine for us.

“You’ll be in a separate area with the girls watching the show, after we’re done playing we’ll head over there and then a body guard will escort us backstage when the show is finished”

“Sounds fancy,”

“It really is, you’re one lucky girl,”

“Oh, Fuentes, you underestimate me…”

“What do you mean?”

“I’m lucky because I’ve you, not because I get special treatment at concerts,” she began “I’m lucky because I found someone who likes me for who I am, enjoys my sassy and witty comments and can make me smile like no other,” At that point I was more attracted to her than any other time. Not only was she insanely beautiful, but somehow she liked me for who I was - which didn’t happen often; sometimes being a famous musician made it harder to find people who were genuinely attracted or interested in you rather than what I did for a living. Not only that, she knew my past; she knew first hand what I did with other girls and trusted me enough to still hang out with me, and well now date me. It just reminded me that I was very lucky to have her, and that I didn't want anything to ruin this. I finally felt like I had managed to turn my life around and place myself in a good track after the couple of rough months I'd had.

“Damn, Hayes, you always find a way to enchant me more,” was all I managed to say before I planted a kiss on her lips. Whenever we kissed it seemed as if the world stopped and no one else mattered; it was unlike something I had ever experienced.

After a couple of minutes of discrete making out, we headed back to the sunbeds in which Sarah laid down on her chest and began to tan her back. Vic had ordered beers for everyone and when the waiter brought them I handed one to Sarah and took one for myself. As I enjoyed my cold drink, I took advantage of the beautiful view I had: Sarah’s hair was still wet, droplets were falling from her sloppy ponytail and rolling down her arched back as she used her elbows to hold herself, using one hand to hold the bottle of beer and the other one holding her phone. I went into my instagram and took a quick picture and posted it with the caption:

“Life’s good ;) #whataview #vegas”

Within minutes hundreds of comments asking who the mystery girl was and celebrating how excited people were for the upcoming show. However, my favorite comment of all was what my lovely brother wrote:
#noisy @sarahayes.

A couple of seconds later, I heard the ring of a new instagram tag, and a couple of seconds later I heard her gasp.

“Oh. My. God. Mike!” She turned around facing me, making Vic laugh his ass off.

“Hey it was his comment!” I pointed at Vic.

“It was your picture!” She said with her face all red; it was adorable.

“It really is a great view,” I added and she blushed even more. This was the first time anyone saw a picture of Sarah in my social media and revealing her to the fans was definitely interesting; Vic made their lives easier and by giving her username away and so her profile began to get countless requests as the minutes passed by. “You’re one of us now,” I said with a laughter as I kept hearing her phone buzz a hundred times per minute.

“One of us, one of us, one of us,” Tony began to chant, and Jaime joined as they quoted ‘Finding Nemo’ which made everyone else laugh.

We sat there for a couple of hours, occasionally switching sides and reapplying sunscreen. Sarah got to talk a little to Danielle and the girls, which was good since I didn’t want any bad blood between them - with the whole Alysha thing - as well as some group bonding time with everyone. Eventually, we all gathered our belongings and got ready to leave and get ready to head to the venue.

“How about we meet at six o’clock downstairs and wait for Casey, Michele and the rest of the tech crew?” Vic suggested and we all agreed then each of us headed to our respective rooms to get ready.
