Can't You Just Stop

Noortje’s POV

It was four weeks after the ultrasound and we were back on tour. My morning sickness had just reached it’s peak, or what I hoped was it’s peak, and I hated the fact that I was stuck on a moving bus. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing being able to tour the world and it was my favourite thing to be on the road, but with all the nausea I felt, it wasn’t that great. What made it even worse was that there were more people on the bus and they were getting curious. My stomach bug excuse wasn’t going to work forever. There was one more week until my next scan, and only after that I was going to tell them. But I was honestly terrified to tell, especially Vic. They all overreacted when they had found the pregnancy test, so they probably also thought it wasn’t a good idea to have a baby. And then Vic, he wasn’t going to like it either. I had told him countless of times that I was going to stay with Tony, but he kept thinking that he still had a chance, even though he said he knew. I could just tell it from the way he looked at me.

Whenever Tony and I were in the privacy of our own bunk, he would pull my shirt up slightly and caress my still flat stomach. I wasn’t was along yet to start showing yet, however in about five weeks I would look a lot more fat than what I actually was. It would exactly be a baby bump yet, but it would come in a matter of time. Just like all those other times, Tony had his head on my stomach and was listening closely. He claimed that he could sometimes felt something, but I doubted it. It was only when he started giving my stomach butterfly kisses that I suddenly felt nauseated again.

“Tony, move,” I tried moving my body.

“What?” Tony looked at me like I had just offended him.

“I feel sick,” I groaned, not daring to open my mouth any further.

“Oh, shit, sorry.”

I watched as he quickly pulled back the curtains and jumped out. He went to help me, but I quickly scrambled out and hurried past him, relieved to find that the bathroom wasn’t occupied. I clutched the toilet and hung over the toilet bowl before I started expelling the contents of my stomach. Luckily Tony was there to hold my hair back before anything happened, or there would have been sick in my hair. I caught my breath after I finished and saw Jay standing at the door in his pajamas. I didn’t know anybody was awake. He handed Tony a water bottle and watched as Tony helped me sit down normally. I took the water bottle and rinsed my mouth before gulping some of it down.

“Is everything ok?” Jay didn’t move from his spot and crossed his arms.

“Yeah, everything’s fine,” Tony shrugged off. I nodded in agreement.

“You know, you guys should tell me if there’s something wrong with your health or something else, because it might affect tour and I need to be able to arrange things.”

“It won’t affect anything… well until a few weeks…” I accidentally blabbed out.

Tony’s eyes widened and he glared at me. He mouthed words I couldn’t make out and I sighed, “We were going to tell him anyway, why not tell him now, it’s only 9 weeks away.”

“Nine weeks?” Jay questioned.

“Maybe we should go in the back lounge where nobody can hear us,” Tony suggested.

So that’s exactly what we did. Tony and I were sitting on one side of the couch that took up three walls, while Jay sat opposite from us. He looked at us thoughtfully as Tony grabbed my hand, probably needing my support more than I needed his. I was looking for the right words to start with, I wasn’t really expecting to announce my pregnancy like this. Surprisingly enough, Tony and I had already thought of something to announce it, but that wasn’t going to be for another few weeks.

“So umm…” I started.

“You’re not dying, are you?” Jay blurted out.

Tony chuckled, “no she’s not. We weren’t really going to tell you like this, so we don’t really know where to start.”

“Let’s start with why you,” Jay pointed at me, “will somehow affect tour in 9 weeks, which I would like to remind you, is not that far away.”

“Well, my doctor adviced me to stay home from then on,” I explained vaguely and looked at Tony. He just nodded at me to continue, but I couldn’t.

“Doctor?! Ok, are you sure you’re not dying?”

“Yes, I promise I’m not dying,” I grinned, “It actually has something to do with Tony’s birthday present and an incident that happened a while before that.”

“Oh my god, just tell me already!” Jay groaned.

“Ok, fine. I’ll just tell you up straight then,” Tony’s grip on my hand tightened as I was about to say the words, Strangely I had never said them out loud before, “I’m pregnant.”

“You’re what!” Jay shrieked, “Oh my god, congra-” he suddenly turned serious, “it’s a good thing, right?”

Tony nodded grinning widely, “Yeah, we had actually been trying for 8 months…”

“It all makes sense now! The constant sex, Tony’s birthday present… Was it also the reason why you were crying when Vic called you out for having used a pregnancy test?”

I nodded, thinking back to that wasn’t such a nice memory, “I kind of lost hope, and then everybody getting mad at me wasn’t really helping.”

“Oh… I’m sorry about that.”

“It’s ok. Anyway, I will be able to finish off this tour, but there’s no point in me going along on the next one because I’ll only have a couple of days.”

“I’ll figure something out for that, but I’m happy to know you’re not dying. And, oh my god you guys, you always seem to hide everything from us… You might be engaged or married for all I know.”

“Well… umm…” Tony interrupted.

“What! Are you kidding me right now!” Jay exclaimed.

“Yeah,” Tony laughed.

“Fuck you guys. And, Noortje, if you have any special requests, like food, just tell me, ok?”

I nodded and got more comfortable as Jay left. That went a lot better than I had expected. I put my head on Tony’s lap and lied down. Tony laid an arm over my waist, his hand protectively going on my stomach again. He slowly rubbed circles as he stared off into space. I had only been pregnant for a couple of weeks and he was already subconsciously making sure to keep his hand on me whenever he could.

He looked down at me and beamed, “I love you so much.”

“As much as I love you too, Jay just mentioned food and now I’m hungry. I think I’m starting to get cravings, because I do not think normal food will satisfy me,” I sat up straight and got up, “You go back to bed, I’ll be there in a second.”

“That phrase reminds me of when you wouldn’t go to bed anymore…”

“I know, but that was a year ago, I am actually coming to bed. Plus, I’m super tired, so…”

“Ok then,” Tony gave me a careful kiss and disappeared into our bunk while I went towards the front lounge and the kitchenette.

I opened the fridge and looked inside. There was some bread, which I happily took out, some peanut butter, and hot sauce. I wasn’t sure if it was good to eat hot sauce when pregnant, but I really felt like eating it. I turned around to build my sandwich, when I saw a figure sitting on the couch.

I jumped, “oh god, Vic, you scared me.”

“I’m sorry,” I couldn’t see his facing expressions, but I knew he was staring at me right in the face.

“It’s fine,” I turned to the counter and took out two slices of bread, “can’t sleep?”

“No… not really… there’s stuff on my mind… a lot of stuff… What about you? I heard you were throwing up earlier. I was sitting here with Jay when it all happened.”

“Yeah, I’m all good,” I finished spreading the peanut butter and squirting the hot sauce on top of it. I was so concentrated that I didn’t realise Vic was standing behind me until I turned around again.

“Good,” Vic breathed out and leant forward and upwards until his lips touched mine. I didn’t want to be rude, so I slowly pushed him away instead of forcing him backwards like I had done before.

“Vic…” I sighed, “No.”

He shook his head, “I can’t.”

“You can get over me, I promise. It’s not that difficult. I’m not that amazing and you’ve got a wonderful girlfriend waiting for you at home.”

“I know, but-”

“No, Vic,” I took my sandwich and walked to the bunks with tears streaming down my face. Tony gave me a concerned look when I came into the bunk crying.

“Did making a sandwich really make you cry?” He chuckled.

I shook my head, “Vic kissed me again… I was making my sandwich and he was there, when I turned around he just kissed me. I told him not to and my hormones are only making this upset thing worse.”

Tony gave me a sympathetic smile and brushed away some of my stray hair, “I can see that your hormones are not really helping. Now finish your sandwich and come cuddle with me.”

I smiled through my tears and mouthed an ‘ok’. Pregnancy was really taking its effect on me. I couldn’t imagine how Vic would react when finding out I was pregnant. Maybe it would be the last push he needed to get over me, maybe it was the first push, but it could also make him completely heartbroken. I knew Jaime and Mike would be happy, or at least I hoped. They also got mad at me when they found out about the pregnancy test. This could either go right or terribly wrong.

Notes

So school is going crazy again. This is why I wanted to write a couple of chapters before uploading anything... Unfortunately this is the only chapter I actually had written already, so there might not be any chapters till the very end of this week. I hope not though, because that would be a bummer and I love writing.

@Nickyvlxx
You still have one epilogue to go ;) but it's still in progress, so now you also have to wait patiently :P
Good luck with the ATL stories, by the way, I hope they don't bore you.

@aweirdkindofyellow
Wow, someone's been keeping busy ;) but don't push yourself, if you don't have time, you don't have time. I mean you're doing 3 at once! That's amazing! Just let me know when you've posted the new one! ;*

@Thebandobsessedgirlwithnolife
Yep, it was my first, and you can definitely tell by how badly The New Member is written at the very beginning. And I'm thinking of starting a new story, I have an idea, but I already have three stories going on (two on the ATL website and the collaborative story I'm writing on here) so I'll have to see when I can write it. I first want to plan it out completely, so it might take a while.

@aweirdkindofyellow
That was your first?! Holy! I can't wait for you to write more then! You did an amazing job! <33
