Tables Turned

Dance All Night

Saturday morning rolled around and I somehow ended up sitting on the couch in the living room with Vic watching the Rugrats. We didn't argue, moan or give each other a cross word. It was kinda nice to not want to strangle him for once.

"If you coulda played Rugrats when you were a kid who would you've been?" Vic asked me suddenly. I gave him a thoughtful look and smile.

"I was totally Lill." I grinned at him.

"Really?"

"Well I have a twin brother and we totally ate bugs when we were kids." I shrugged and looked back at the tv.

"It's a shame that Rugrats didn't exist back when we were kids." Vic sighed heavily. "So what did you play as a kid?"

"Well actually, we used to pretend that we were in Star Wars." I told him. One of his eyebrows rose up.

"Really?"

"Yeah, me and my brothers played it a lot. I was the only girl so I got dragged into all that shit." I shrugged casually.

"Let me guess, you were Leia?" He grinned at me.

"Of course I was!" I smiled at him.

"You look like the damsel in distress type." He gave me a shady look.

"What about you?" I asked him as I looked back at the tv screen.

"I was always Han Solo." He announced. I looked back at him and cocked my head to the side. "It's funny actually. Tony was my neighbour as a kid so he was always Luke Skywalker and I'd be Han Solo. Mike, my little bother always insisted on being Yoda and we always made our dog Chewy." He explained. "None of the girls in our neighbourhood liked us so we didn't have a Leia."

"That's so sad." I frowned at him, I was obviously joking but he made a pretend sad face.

"It's okay though, girls have cooties." I laughed. Vic laughed too and nodded his head.

"My brothers friend Jack always insisted on being Han Solo because he had a crush on me." I shook my head and laughed. It's so weird how I'm suddenly talking about my personal life as if it's totally okay.

"But you're ew." He made a face at me. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest.

"This one time I cut my moms white satin curtains up to make into a dress like Leia's and she caught me. I got grounded for two whole weeks and then when I was allowed to go back out to play, my brothers had moved on." I explained to him. "This girl moved in across the street, Alice. She was somehow more interesting and fun to hang around with so they stopped inviting me out to play. For days on end I'd climb up the tree in our garden and watch them play games. Just hoping they'd invite me but they didn't." I shrugged. "A whole month passed before they realised I'd been watching them. That's when I realised boys suck." I said sticking my tongue out at Vic. He had a sad look on his face which confused me.

"Girls aren't so great either." He retaliated. "In second grade Jennifer McAdams told everyone that I escape from the borders and that I was gonna kidnap her." Vic told me.

I couldn't help be laugh a little. "Oh my God."

"Yeah so funny to know a 6 year old was racist and down right mean. I had no friends until 4th grade because of that incident." He pouted. It was kinda cute actually.

"I'm sure once you grew up you had no issues with girls." I said rolling my eyes.

He raised an eyebrow in a questioning way and was about to say something when there was a knock at the door. "Tony must've forgotten his key again." Vic rolled his eyes and jumped off the couch and over to the door. The tv caught my attention again until Vic called my name.

I looked over to the door and my heart basically fell out of my ass. "Jake? What are you doing here?" I asked, totally confused and shocked that he was even here.

"Well I asked you to come home but you didn't really reply." He shrugged. I walked over towards him and expected Vic to leave but he just stood there, arms crossed over his chest with a small smile planted on his face.

"So you decided to fly down to San Diego to surprise me?" I frowned a little.

"Well don't act too excited to see me." He rolled his eyes and pulled me in for a hug. I looked at Vic and he had a thoughtful look on his face. He shrugged at me and then walked back over to the couch and continued watching cartoons.

"Well thanks for coming." I said pulling back from Jake. "We are actually having a big party tonight." I told him.

"Oh right, that's cool. I actually booked us a hotel room in the city for tonight to have some alone time." He grinned down at me. I looked at my feet and nodded.

"Thank you." I mumbled.

"Can you show me where I can dump my stuff?" He asked pointing at his bags. I nodded and took him to my room and for the first time since I moved here, I couldn't wait for the alcohol to pass my lips.

-

I smoothed out my black dress and fluffed my hair as much as possible to make the curls look nice. Tonight was gonna be special no matter how much I protested.

I decided that I was going to give Jake what he wanted. Maybe it was going to make us closer together. I looked at my tattoos in the mirror. It's kinda funny because my dad went crazy when he found out I had a half sleeve and other wrist and hand tattoos. The one he kicked off the most about was the neck one. I love the fly on my neck though.

I always wore shirts or hoodies to cover my tattoos so most people don't even know I have any. "Savannah!" Lynn

"Yeah?" I turned to see Lynn standing at my door, stumbling a little.

"Your boyfriend and Ben are talking and it's not looking good." She drunkenly announced.

I nodded and we left my room and went into the tiny living room that was now filled with about 40 people that I barely even knew. I spotted Ben and Jake in the corner, it looked like whatever they were talking about was serious. I walked over to them, my heels clunked off the wooden floor but it couldn't be heard over the blaring music. I donated my Blink 182 and Sum 41 collection to the cause. "What you guys talking about?" I asked as I approached them.

"Ben was just telling me about the difference between British and American economy." Jake smiled at me and then wrapped his arm around my shoulders. He took a swig of the beer in his other hand.

"Cool well I'm gonna go and get a drink." I told them and then headed over to the counter where all the booze spread out, covering it from side to side.

I picked up a bottle of Tequila and poured myself a shot of it. "That's my kinda drink right there." Tony staggered up to me. I smiled at him and grabbed another shot glass for him.

"Well here you go amigo." I said handing him the shot glass. We clunked ours together and then did the shot. The liquor burned down my throat but it didn't even touch the sides. I needed much more to give myself the courage to face the night.

"Thanks Sav." Tony grinned from ear to ear. His teeth appeared and they were blinding white. "I'm glad you're one of my room mates, even if I don't really say it. You're a nice girl and I hope we can be really good friends." He drunkenly told me and hugged me.

Vic appeared and gave us a confused, questioning look. "Are you two drunk already?" He slurred at us. I looked at him and shook my head no.

"Tony is though." I grinned and patted his shoulder. "Watch out for him, we don't want him going home with a boy and having unprotected sex." I laughed. Vic chuckled too but Tony just pouted.

"I like girls thank you very much." Tony said with a z snap and then grabbed the bottle of tequila and ran over to Vic's brother Mike, shouting tequila.

Vic stood in front of me with an awkward look on his face. "So your boyfriend is talking to the new boy in your love interest. Doesn't that scare you?" He asked with a glint of amusement in his eyes.

I just shrugged and then grabbed the bottle of vodka sitting near me and took a swig from it. He raised an eyebrow at the fact I just drank straight vodka. "I like the taste."

"You're so fucking weird." He laughed and shook his head.

I nodded in agreement and drank a few more mouthfuls of vodka in a bid to forget a bit until I had to leave with Jake. "So Vic, if you're single and so damn good with the gals, why are you here with me and have had no sign of being with any girls since I moved here?" I questioned him, catching him totally off guard.

"Um, I don't really like any girls here." He shrugged and then scratched the back of his head. "I only came over for a drink anyway." He said and then grabbed a beer and walked away.

Jake sauntered over to me with a grin on his face. "Wanna take off now?" He asked with a sly grin on his face. I felt sick but took another couple of swigs of my vodka and then placed the bottle down with a shaky hand.

"Sure."

Notes

So Jake is being portrayed by Derek from State Champs.
