Don't Hit me

While Tony is asleep I go see Vic and Jamie.
“Hey how is Tony?”-J “He’s alright for now. They still have him on a lot of medicine so he’s sleeping a lot. (at this point they have been in the hospital for one week and Jamie and Vic are going home in three days) “Man I just wish we could se him. At least they let Mike walk around.”-V “I know. But I think they’re gonna let him try and walk later today.” “Speak of the devil!”-V I turn around and see Mike. I give him a hug. “How are you?” “Better. I went by Tony’s room but he’s still asleep.” “Yea he’s been doing that a lot. Where’s Danielle?” “She went home to shower and change clothes with Erin.” “Oh. Where’s Victoria Vic?” “She has to work.”
I walk back to Tony’s room. When I get back he’s awake and talking to a nurse. “Hey babe guess what? I can walk today!” “That’s great babe!” “Well he’s gonna to try. We had to put three screws in so it might take a couple weeks to be walking full time.” The nurse walks out. “I don’t want you to push yourself too hard.” “well if I spend one more day in this bed I’m gonna go crazy.” We spend the rest of the day watch bad soap operas and making fun of the bad acting.
“Alright Tony are you ready to try and walk?” “Hell yea. Oh. I mean. Yes ma’am.” Two male nurses help him stand up then hold his arms. I stand on the other side of the room and he has to walk to me. He is very shaking. I can tell it hurts. “Tony.” “I got this.” “I’m right here. You can do this.” And he does. He walks very slowly to me. By the time he gets to me he is sweating and tired. His present is a kiss. “Do you want to try and walk back?” “of corse” he walks back a little bit faster. “I’m proud of you. Are you sleepy?” “Yea.” “Okay babe. Go to sleep. I’m gonna go see Vic and Jamie.”
“Hey guys.” “Hey what’s up?”-V “Tony did some walking.” “That’s great.”-J “They’re going to let us go home early. Like in a couple hours.”-V “That’s awesome. When is Mike gonna get out.?” Probably in a couple days.” –V “That haven’t even talked about Tony getting out.” “Hey Taylor.”-E “Oh hey Erin. Did Danielle come with you?” “No, she was still in the shower. She said she would just take a cab.” “That’s not like her. I’m gonna go over there.” “Here take my car.” “Thanks!”
I drive to the house and find Danielle in Mike’s bed. “Danielle?” “Yea.” She’s been crying. “What’s wrong?” “It’s just not fair ya know? Like we find these amazing guys from our favorite band and they love us. Then they almost die. IT’S JUST NOT FUCKING FAIR!” I walk over to bed and lay next to her. I start to cry too. “I know. But it happened.” “What would we do if they did die?! I don’t think that I could ever walk in this house again. Cause every time I walk in here, I feel like I’m at home. And it’s because I know he’s here. Cause he’s my person. And he almost died.” “Shhh, it’s going to be okay, I promise.” I brush my fingers through her hair and we’re quiet for a long time. “Hey” she finally says. She sits up. “Do you remember when we use to stay in the car when my mom went to the store and pretend we were in a rock band?” I laugh at this. “Yea and we would go on world tours?” “Well now it’s like our dream is coming true. But even better cause we get to watch them do it and we get to go! And we don’t even have to do anything. We finally found our family.” We smile. “Yea I guess we did.” We hug each other. “Do you want to go back to the hospital?” “Do I want to? No but, my person is there. And my person needs me.”-D “Then lets go. But I have to grab something first.” We walk down to Tony’s room and grab Star Wars and his Star Wars blanket. “Okay lets go.”
We get back to the hospital and Tony is already awake. “Hey babe how are you feeling?” I give him a kiss. “Okay actually. Whatcha bring me?” “Movies and your blanket.” “Ah could you get any more perfect?” For the night we stay up and I crawl into his bed with him and we actually watch Star Wars. We fall asleep holding hands and everything is peaceful.
