Ella and Vic were nothing short of soul mates.
In elementary school, Ella protected Vic from the playground bullies.
In middle school, Mike dared Vic to kiss Ella. He did, and got punched in the face shortly after. Ella ended up forgiving him, and apologizing for the nose bleed.
In high school, Vic admired Ella from afar. She was head cheerleader, he was the loser in the back of the class.
Ella went to college, Vic started a band.
They couldn't stay away from each other forever, however, as they grew up next to each other.
One New Years, they laid in Vic's parent's backyard, laughing about the past and counting down to the New Year. They were both sober. Vic leaned in and kissed Ella at 12, and she didn't punch him.
They fell in love, they got married. Everything was perfect in the Fuentes household.
Until, a terrible accident happened.
