The Move

Vic’s POV

Noortje had decided to move in with Tony just three days after he had asked her. I was happy she found a place to live where she would be save. I felt like such an ass after Tony had told me what had happened, I can’t help but feel like some of it was my fault. She had her first mental breakdown a few weeks I had left the apartment complex, even though she ensured me that it had nothing to do with me, that she had been slowly losing her mind for months. Then I caused her second mental breakdown by telling her I was thinking of moving out, and then another after we argued!
My train of thoughts was broken by Noortje entering the room again.
“I finally finished packing all my portfolios in a box!” She happily exclaimed.
“Haha, well I just nearly finished packing your whole room.”
“What!?! I have just done one box and you have done all this? Vic, you shouldn’t have.”
“Well, you barely have any possessions, surprisingly. It’s just 2 boxes… What happened to all your stuff.”
“I may, or may not have donated most of my stuff the day I decided to clean up my room, which was yesterday.”
I nodded
“I’ll just need to figure out how to transport all my guitars now.” She huffed.
I laughed at her and shook my head. She went to the basement with me following right behind her. I sat down on the scrawny old couch while she walked by each and every one of her guitars. She looked so concentrated and I just couldn’t help but admire her. I’ll be honest, and tell you that I had the slightest crush her the first few weeks of knowing her. The first time she knocked on my door asking about the toilet brush, I thought there was an angel coming to bring me to heaven. However, I had a girlfriend so I decided to not act on the feelings and they slowly passed. She was very touchy with me, so the morning after we had sex, I was freaking out. I thought I had led her on and that she would want more, but I was so relieved when she asked to stay best friends. After that I thought the was a lesbian for the longest time. She didn’t bring any guys home and she always talked about girls with Mike. But that soon changed when she did bring a guy home and I confronted her about it. It was awkward to say the least.
Now, here we were packing all her boxes into a van we rented, ready to drive over to Tony’s, or should I say Tony and Noortje’s. Just before we entered the van Noortje decided to make one last round around the house to check if she had forgotten something. She was taking quite long, so I decided to look for her, finding her in her room, or old room. This was getting really confusing.
I looked at her before speaking up, “Tony’s a good guy you know.”
“Oh, I know” She said nonchalant.
“No, I’m being serious. I see he makes you happy.”
“Wait, what do you mean with that?”
“There’s obviously something between you and Tony.” I replied.
“Huh,” She laughed, “I never thought about him like that.”
That got me confused, “What?”
“He’s my bestfriend, I never thought about him in that way.”
“Okay?” I said not believing her, “Wait, you just called him your best friend, what am I?”
“Vic, you’re like my brother, no need to worry.”
I sighed in relief, I thought she no longer wanted to be best friends after the argument we had.

Noortje’s POV

I never had thought of dating Tony. Was I against it? No, but then again I would give everyone a chance. It might sound like I would lead people on, but I would just tell them what I thought and would be honest. Like that time I told Vic I wanted to stay best friends. He had just gotten out of a relationship, that was apparently one-sided, and I just wasn’t ready for a relationship. I didn’t want to hurt another person if I accidentally had hurt myself again.

We finally arrived at Tony’s house and I jumped out of the van out of excitement. Tony came running from the front door and gave me a big bear hug. I saw Vic standing behind Tony and he gave me a wink. I rolled my eyes back at him. We entered to house and Tony showed me to what was now to be my room.
“I hope you don’t mind that it doesn’t have much furniture.” Tony sighed.
I stood looking at the room with my mouth wide open. It was amazing. Tony had apparently redone the whole room, giving it a new bed, new dresser, a new bedside table and having it completely redecorated. It looked nothing like what it looked like before. There was no random crap left lying around looking for storage space, but most importantly you could actually see the view of the beach.
“Tony. I- you shouldn’t have. It’s so beautiful. H-how?”
“It’s no problem darling. Anything for you” He kissed the side of my head before walking down the stairs to bring up more boxes.

After hours of moving boxes and rearranging all my items we were finally finished. I felt disgusting and sweaty, so when Tony collapsed onto the couch I decided to take a shower. First I grabbed a cool glass of water and gave one to Tony. I stroked his hair and quietly said, “Thanks so much Tone.”
He smiled back up at me before gulping down his water. I announced that I was going to take a shower and walked back upstairs.

This was now my bathroom. Sure, it wasn’t too large, but it was a lot better than having to share one shower with Vic. To me it was perfect. I turned on the water making sure it was nice and refreshing and hopped in. It was quiet… too quiet… I realised I was starting to overthink everything again so I quietly started humming a song, just loud enough so I could barely hear myself.

That’s when the door opened.

Notes

Just wanted to let you know what Vic was thinking.
Sorry for the short chapter. I didn't get home till late. I also have 3 tests to study for, but who cares about grades anyway?

@Nickyvlxx
Hahaha, thank you. You can totally see how my writing has developed in this story; the first chapters are written so bad. I'm excited for our story as well.

Yaaaaay I read it all! I finished it! I loved it, babe. You're an amazing writer and I'm happy I get to work together with you :) ♡

@Nickyvlxx
Thank you so much. I remember writing chapter three when I was in a really weird mood; I was so confused about everything. I'm Dutch as well, but (as I recall you saying somewhere at the beginning of the story; I have a really weird memory for weird things) English is my first language because I've been speaking it a lot more than Dutch since I was very young. But this wasn't the reason I chose to make her Dutch, I wanted something European and put some random countries in a hat (well, on a website, but same thing) and it came out. So yay!

I have read 3 chapters now and I honestly love it! You have a beautiful writing style and the story is really unique! I also kind of relate to Noortjes feelings. I have the same problems with reality. And I like it a lot that she is dutch because I am too :p

I'M STILL READING!!
