The Meeting

Noortje’s POV

“Tony!” I shouted while trying my best to clean up the living room.
“What?” He replied from upstairs.
“What are we going to do for dinner?”
“I don’t know.”
“There’s no time to go to the grocery store.”
“I told you round 2 wasn’t a good idea,” Tony laughed.
“Round 2 was a very good idea, so was round 3, but round 4, 5, and 6 were not a good idea.” I retorted.
“Very true. Let’s just see what we have in the pantry,” Tony came downstairs.
“I’m actually surprised I can still walk,” I chuckled.
Tony grinned at me and winked before opening the large cupboard, “So, we have spongebob mac and cheese and hot sauce.”
“It will have to do.”
The doorbell rang and Tony and I looked at each other with wide eyes.
“Shit,” I mumbled, “I’ll get it.”

I shuffled over to the front door and saw Vic waiting through the window. He saw me and smiled. I opened the door and welcomed him in.
“It’s just me for now. She got held up at work. I sent her the address, she’ll be here in about half an hour,” Vic explained as there was no girl with him.
“Ok, that’s fine. I hope you don’t mind having mac and cheese. We didn’t have time to go to the store, we were at Tony’s Mom’s house,” I explained.
Vic was about to reply when his eyes bulged out, “Noortje! What happened to you neck!”
“Oh god,” I mumbled.

I had totally forgotten about the hickeys Tony had given me. They were completely on show, and there weren’t a few either. Purple and red bruises were scattered on my neck and down to my collarbone. This wasn’t good, this wasn’t good at all.

“Umm…” I began, hoping to find an excuse.
“You know what? Don’t even try, I don’t want to know,” Vic walked past me and into the kitchen.

I awkwardly followed him and sat down on a bar stool. There was nothing I could say to make this less awkward. I couldn’t even try to cover up the hickeys, the surface area was too large and foundation would make it look cakey. All I could do was move my hair to cover it up and hope it wasn’t too obvious.

To break the uncomfortable silence I decided to start boiling the water and let Tony and Vic talk. As I grabbed a pan and started filling it up with water I heard them finally start conversation, but of course it was about the thing I was trying to avoid.

“You should go easy on her,” Vic said.
“What?” Tony asked.
“Haven’t you seen her neck?”

I let out a silent groan. Couldn’t he just let it be? I know he’s protective, but was he really going to lecture Tony about everything we did? Vic might have been older than me, but I wasn’t the 22 year old from 6 years ago who was afraid of most human contact.

“Is it really that bad?” Tony responded worriedly.

I felt a presence behind me and I knew it was Tony, the body was way too tall for Vic. My hair was being pushed away to my other shoulder and he gasped. His fingers lightly trailed the bruises and marks.

“I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to make it this bad,” Tony gushed.
“Hey, I could have complained, but I didn’t. I think I would have if I didn’t like it,” I purred, trying to make Vic uncomfortable.
“Can you guys please not,” Vic interrupted.
I smirked, “You’re the one who brought it up.”
“Ok, I’m sorry. Just, please, no.”

The doorbell rang again and I went to open it. A girl that looked about the same height as Vic stood in front of me. Her hair was long and red and she looked beautiful general.
“A fellow red-head!” I exclaimed, “Vic, I like her already!”
“Good!” I heard Vic call from inside.
The girl chuckled and extended her hand, “I’m Danielle.”
I shook it and smiled at her, “Noortje.”

----

After short introductions Tony had retreated to the kitchen and Vic had followed him. Tony insisted on making the food because he reckoned it was easy to cook and he wanted to cut me some slack. Of course I didn’t complain. I mean, what’s hotter and cuter than a guy actually offering to do chores for you?

Danielle and I were sitting in the living room, chatting and getting to know each other. I looked over at Vic and Tony and nudged Danielle.
“What do you think they’re saying?” I asked.
“What?” I questioned back.
“Haven’t you ever made up conversations for people. I might be 28, but I will always do that.”
Danielle laughed, “In my whole 24 years of life I have never done that.”
I saw that Vic was talking and I put on a valley girl voice, “So, oh my god, gurl. Did you see what Becky wore today? Like, ugh, no.”
I broke character and turned to Danielle, “You do Tony.”
She looked like she was about to turn it down, but I glared at her and she sighed, giving in.
She tried doing a similar voice, “Like, those shoes with that shirt. It ain’t working girl.”
Vic started talking again, “She even tried talking to me today. I was like ‘Bitch you just keep walking, I ain’t listening to you’.”
“She actually tried doing that! Oh my god, gurl, are you ok?”
“I’m just too fabulous.”
We burst out laughing because Vic flipped his hair slightly just as I said the word ‘fabulous’. I tried catching my breath, but whenever Danielle and I looked at each other the giggles started again.

“Ok, dinner’s ready… well if you want to call spongebob mac and cheese dinner,” Tony trailed off as he placed a bowl on the table.
Danielle and I joined him and Vic walked in a second later. I looked around and realised we had nothing to drink, so of course I asked if anybody wanted something.
“There should be something in the fridge in the basement,” Tony said.
I looked at Tony, “We have a fridge in the basement?”
“Yeah.”
“I hate the basement,” I pouted and walked to the door leading to the stairs.
Before I could reach it, though, Tony ran up behind me and squeezed my waist, making me squeal.
‘Let me go!” I laughed.
Tony held on and pouted, pointing at his lips. I fake sighed and rolled my eyes while giving him a peck on the lips, making the pout turn into a smile.
“I’ll go to the basement, you go get some glasses,” Tony suggested.
I nodded and went to go to the kitchen. Tony slapped my ass as I walked away.
“I’m so going to get you back for that!” I shouted.

I came back to the dining table at the same time as Tony. Tony placed 3 beers on the table while I placed the glasses and a jug of water on the table.

“The only thing we have is beer, so you can take that or water.” Tony apologized.

Danielle and Vic said they didn’t mind and Vic apologized for the short notice of them coming over, even though he knew he gave us more than enough time and we just wasted it all on sex. But, hey, I got my priorities straight, right?

Danielle spoke up, “Vic never told me you guys were a couple.”
“Oh we aren’t. It’s just a friends with benefits thing, I definitely don’t love this guy or anything,” I joked.
“Yeah, I definitely don’t want to spend the rest of my life with her. I don’t even know why she hasn’t fucked off yet,” Tony added.
“Guys, stop messing with my emotions!” Vic interrupted.
“We’re just kidding, Vic,” I laughed.
“I know, but I’m still getting used to you guys being together, don’t make it more confusing.”
“Still getting used to it?” Danielle asked.
“Yeah, I just found out two weeks ago, and apparently it had been going on for two months.”
“Isn’t it difficult hiding a relationship from your friends who are around you 24/7?”
“Not really,” I shrugged, “Tony and I already acted around each other like this, so that was fine. We just couldn’t kiss each other. Tony had one slip up though, he called me babe in front of everyone. We never gave each other nicknames like that before, so that was difficult to cover up.”
“When that happened you wouldn’t stop giving me shit about me having a crush on Noortje,” Tony remembered.
“Well obviously we had the right idea,” Vic argued.

After dinner Tony and I went to clean up the plates, but Vic stopped me and said he would do it. He probably wanted to talk to Tony about something, but I didn’t mind. It just meant I didn’t have to do the dishes.
I sat back down and looked at Danielle, “Good, cause I’m just too fabulous.”
I flipped my hair like Vic had done and Danielle and I were in stitches again. Vic looked at us weirdly while turning to Tony.
“Tone, I think we have a problem here. They’ve known each other for a couple of hours and already have an inside joke.” Vic warned.
Tony laughed, “Just let them be.”

----

Danielle and Vic left after we had talked for another hours or so and now Tony and I were lying in bed. I had my head on Tony’s chest and Tony had his arm wrapped around me, playing with my fingers. We were staring up at the ceiling in silence. This was a thing I always did with Tony. We could always just be in each other’s presence without saying anything, and still understand each other. I never had a relationship with anybody like that before.

“You know, I was being serious earlier,” Tony said and I could feel his voice rumbling in his chest.
“Hmm?” I hummed, asking him what he meant.
“I really do want to spend the rest of my life with you.”
I hid my face in his chest and breathed in his scent, “Good.”
Tony chuckled, making me smile into his shirt.
“My sister really likes you,” He continued.
“I like her too,” I reciprocated.
“She’s never really minded my ex-girlfriends, but she hasn’t really liked them either.”
“Oh, I guess I’m doing something right then.”
“It’s probably because you try to include her as well, and actually did things with just her, while my ex-girlfriends never really did that.”
“I’m just being myself.”
“And that’s why I love you.”
I pushed myself up so I could kiss him, “I love you too.”
I rested back onto his chest and closed my eyes, listening to Tony’s heart beat and breathing.
“Good night, baby.” He whispered and kissed the top of my head.

That night I woke up screaming again.

Notes

I calculated that I will write 6-8 more chapters, but there could possibly be more. It really depends if I feel like the story will need filler chapters.

@Nickyvlxx
Hahaha, thank you. You can totally see how my writing has developed in this story; the first chapters are written so bad. I'm excited for our story as well.

Yaaaaay I read it all! I finished it! I loved it, babe. You're an amazing writer and I'm happy I get to work together with you :) ♡

@Nickyvlxx
Thank you so much. I remember writing chapter three when I was in a really weird mood; I was so confused about everything. I'm Dutch as well, but (as I recall you saying somewhere at the beginning of the story; I have a really weird memory for weird things) English is my first language because I've been speaking it a lot more than Dutch since I was very young. But this wasn't the reason I chose to make her Dutch, I wanted something European and put some random countries in a hat (well, on a website, but same thing) and it came out. So yay!

I have read 3 chapters now and I honestly love it! You have a beautiful writing style and the story is really unique! I also kind of relate to Noortjes feelings. I have the same problems with reality. And I like it a lot that she is dutch because I am too :p

I'M STILL READING!!
