The Accident

I walked out of the tiny bathroom and looked through my suitcase trying to find something to wear. I put my shorts and tank tops aside. I’ve worn them nearly every day, it was so hot outside. But today was different. I was cold.
I took out my ripped jeans, but put those aside too. The holes would be too cold. I needed something warmer. The only jeans that I thought looked comfortable were loose fitting ones that did have rips at the knees, but I would have to deal with that. I took out a hoodie, and t-shirt, and a scarf. I was freezing my ass of.

I walked out to the front in the bus to join the others. As soon as they saw me they looked very puzzled.
“Aren’t you warm in that. You’ll practically melt!” Jaime questioned.
“No, I’m actually really cold.” I said truthfully.
“Nope. I’m not believing that.” Tony interrupted.
“What?”
“Take of your clothes.”
“Ok…?” I started walking back to the bunks.
“No, take them off here.”
“What. Are you crazy or something!” I screamed.
“No, I need to check you.”
“Check me for what?”, Tony gave me a painful look, “Ooh…. I didn’t do anything!” I said with realisation.
“Yeah, no. You can’t be cold. It’s boiling in here. Or are you hiding something?”
“What! No!”
Tony looked at me again with raised eyebrows. The others looked at what was happening in front of them.
I whined and slowly started taking off my clothes. I was cold, but wasn’t shivering. After removing my last article of clothing I stood awkwardly, left in only my bra and panties.
Mike groaned, “Ugh! Why do you have to look so good!” Tony glared at him and Mike raised his hands up in defense. I smirked at Mike and had a plan.
“Maybe I should just go on stage like this. You know… just jumping around like this…” I started jumping up and down making sure my boobs bounced. “And rocking out like this.” I showed him my butt while headbanging.
“Nope! You are not doing this to me! This is not happening! No!” He stood up and walked out of the bus, slamming the door behind him. I could hear him shouting nope and no the whole way to the venue. I laughed and shook my head.
“I think we all know what he’s doing now.” Jaime snickered.
“Ok... Back to what we were doing.” Tony smiled up at me.
I sighed.
“Ok arms.” Tony said and I held out my arms to him, he nodded and continued. “Legs” I showed him my legs from different angles. It kept going on like that until he was satisfied that I had not cut myself.
“Can I put my clothes on now! I’m freezing!” I started shivering.
“Umm, yeah, sure, go ahead.”
I put on my clothes and relaxed on the couch.
“Are you sure you aren’t going to melt in that?” Jaime looked concerned.
I nodded, “Yeah, I’m still kinda cold.”Tony looked at me and grabbed my hand, “Your hands are cold,” He then placed his hand against my forehead, “but I don’t think you have a fever. Weird.”

----

“PTV! PTV!” The crowd was chorusing.
I smiled and couldn’t wait to get on stage. Tony and I started jumping up and down to warm up a bit and to shake out any nerves we had. It had turned into our own little pre-show ritual. Stab. I stopped jumping and bent over.
“Are you sure you’re ok?” Tony asked.
I nodded my head and stood back up. Maybe not as much jumping for me as I wanted to at first. I hope nobody thinks I don’t like this job. I don’t need any hate. Surprisingly the fans had accepted me from the beginning, but I didn’t want that to change. I had made a promise to myself. If the fans wouldn’t have liked me at all, I would quit. That promise still stands.

We all ran out of stage, Vic being the last person to come out. The crowd went crazy when they saw him and I started laughing. We started playing May These Noises Startle You in Your Sleep and transitioned to Hell Above. It always got the crowd going and hyped everybody up. Tony, Jaime, and I were all headbanging together. I was living the dream.

After playing 3 more songs and everybody going crazy, the crowd included, we all calmed down. I had asked somebody to get me another jacket. As the time went by, I got colder and colder. Vic announced that he was going to play Hold On Till May acoustic. I was to play guitar, and that was all. No singing. I don’t think they have ever heard me sing, well sing when it was not a joke. But, honestly I thought I sounded terrible.

The lights dimmed and two stools were brought out. Vic sat on one with his acoustic guitar in hand, while I sat on the other with my guitar. Vic smiled at me, but it suddenly turned into a frown. He moved the microphone away from his mouth, but it still caught some of the sound.
“Are you ok?”
“Yes! Why does everyone keep asking me this!”
“You just look pale, and your lips are turning purple.”
I shrugged and moved the microphone back in front of him. We started a countdown and played the guitar. Vic jumped in with his singing and my fingers flew across the fretboard. All of a sudden the crowd started screaming and I looked around to find what could have caused it. Tony came running on stage with his coat. He jogged up to me and placed it over my shoulders. I mouthed a thank-you and he kissed the top of my head. The crowd went even wilder. Vic laughed a bit, but was able to collect himself quickly.

The song soon finished and the acoustic guitars were swapped with electric ones and Tony, Jaime, and Mike came back on stage. A few crew members came up and removed the stools, trying to be unnoticed. Tony started playing the intro and we started one of the new songs. I jumped up on a raiser and mouthed along the words at the same time as Jaime. I leaped off and turned around.

There was blood streaming down my face. I tried breathing, but apparently the blood was coming from my nose. I coughed to get rid of the drowning feeling and spit up more blood. Nobody on stage noticed, but luckily people side stage saw. They came running over to me and tried to help me. I was bent over and was trying to get rid of the blood blocking my air passage. I faintly heard Vic’s voice sound through the speakers, “What’s going on?”
The others stopped playing a few seconds after and turned around to look at me. All they could see were people crowded around me trying to help by rubbing my back and handing me tissues.

I felt lightheaded and the last thing I remembered was my head falling to the hard black stage with a hollow thud. Stab, stab, stab.

Silence.

Notes

I wrote this with a headache. Isn't that fitting?
Just so you know, Noortje's symptoms are just made up. It isn't supposed to be a real medical condition.

Hahaha, thank you. You can totally see how my writing has developed in this story; the first chapters are written so bad. I'm excited for our story as well.

Yaaaaay I read it all! I finished it! I loved it, babe. You're an amazing writer and I'm happy I get to work together with you :) ♡

@Nickyvlxx
Thank you so much. I remember writing chapter three when I was in a really weird mood; I was so confused about everything. I'm Dutch as well, but (as I recall you saying somewhere at the beginning of the story; I have a really weird memory for weird things) English is my first language because I've been speaking it a lot more than Dutch since I was very young. But this wasn't the reason I chose to make her Dutch, I wanted something European and put some random countries in a hat (well, on a website, but same thing) and it came out. So yay!

I have read 3 chapters now and I honestly love it! You have a beautiful writing style and the story is really unique! I also kind of relate to Noortjes feelings. I have the same problems with reality. And I like it a lot that she is dutch because I am too :p

I'M STILL READING!!
