The Nausea

I was sitting in the back lounge looking out at the road. We were passing mountains and I was flabbergasted. I never knew that there were astonishing places like this. However, I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I had liked to. We were driving to the 10th venue and I felt like complete and utter shit. My stomach was cramping and it felt like I was being stabbed in the head. The guys didn’t know and I wasn’t planning on telling them.

I curled up in a ball and huddled up underneath the blanket I had brought with me. I was just getting comfortable when I heard a knock on the door. I quickly sat up, not wanting anybody to suspect anything, and felt everything around me spin. Mike walked in and sat down next to me.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t?” He murmured.
“I was just thinking that. You never really get to see these-” I closed my eyes and quickly reached for my head. Stab.
“Woah. Are you ok?”
I kept my eyes tightly shut and nodded, “Yeah. Everything’s fine.”
“Are you sure? Do you need anything?”
I shook my head, “No, it’s fine. It’s probably PMS.”

That was a lie. I was supposed to have my period a week ago. No, it’s nothing bad. And, no, I’m not pregnant. Like I would get pregnant from the prank with Tony. I was taking the pill so I could skip my periods. Seriously, who want’s their period while on tour? It will be a nightmare. Moving around a lot of stage in a warm, sweaty room? No thanks.

Mike nodded and relaxed again. We both looked out of the tinted window again and talked a bit about random things. I was actually feeling kind of better.
Wait, no, that was another lie.
“Stop the bus!” I screamed out.

Mike looked at me confused, but nonetheless ran out to the front to the driver. In the meantime I was trying to take deep breaths. It will will stop, it will be fine. The bus slowly drove to the side of the road and eventually stopped. I stood up and ran. I ran for my life.

I was hit by fresh air and bright light. I tried to take a few more deep breaths, but it still didn’t work. Everything came out. I threw up my complete breakfast. The bus door opened again.
“Hey, Noortje what was that all- Oh shit!” Jaime called out.

I threw up again. Jaime came running over to me and rubbed my back. Tears prickled my eyes and I tried to blink them away. My gaze was focused on something in front of me. I’m not sure what it was but I was trying to keep at least some food down. Normally this technique helped, but it didn’t this time. I heaved again and just barely missed my feet.

The tears were now slowly trickling down my cheeks. I slowly stood upright, feeling less nauseated than before. Jaime helped steady me and looked me in the eyes.
“Are you ok?”
I nodded my head, then shook it, but then nodded again before full out crying. Jaime wrapped his arms around me and carefully gave me a hug.
“Hey, it’s fine, you’ll be ok. Nothing went wrong, did it?”

You see, I was absolutely terrified or vomiting. Some people were afraid of spiders, others were afraid of heights. But not me, I had a phobia of throwing up. Isn’t that great?
I slowly nodded my head and dried up the tears. I wasn’t going to freak out, not this time. I had created enough drama to last me a lifetime. Jaime smiled, he was proud of me. He lead me back to the bus and helped me up the stairs.

“Why don’t you go to your bunk and I’ll get you some water?” Jaime suggested.
All I did was nod again and sauntered toward mine and Tony’s bunk. I listened in on the conversation happening in the front lounge.
“What happened to her?” Tony asked concerned.
“I don’t know.” Jaime sighed.
“She told me it was PMS.” Mike added.
“Hmm, it can’t be. That would have been 2 weeks ago. She should have had her period last week.” Vic butted in.
“What the fuck dude! How do you know that!” Mike screeched disgusted.
“It’s no big deal. I’ve lived with her for 5 to 6 years. You expect me to not know?” Vic shrugged.
Mike hummed, still slightly weirded out.
“Hmm, no she hasn’t,” Tony said. Everybody gave him a confused look, “She hasn’t had her period. She’s taking birth control to skip it.”
“Now, how do you know that!” Mike shrieked.
“You guys made me share a bunk with her. I know more stuff than any of you guys would like to.” Tony laughed.
“Maybe she shouldn’t play the show tonight?” Jaime proposed.
“No!” I tried to shout out. The guys all jumped, but I felt sick to laugh about it.
Jaime walked over to me with a bottle of water, “Are you sure?”
I nodded and took a big gulp of the water. Jaime smiled down at me and motioned for me to sit up a bit so he could put my hair in a ponytail.
I laid back down and mumbled a thank-you.
“Just get some sleep. I’m sorry you had to hear our conversation.”
He placed a kiss on my forehead and I passed out.

----

When I woke up I noticed that the bus had stopped. There was a lot of ruckus outside, meaning that the crew was taking out all the equipment. I walked to the front of the bus and saw everybody sitting there.
“Aren’t you guys going to help them?”
Jaime looked up at me and smiled. “We offered, but apparently we just get in the way.” He pouted.
“Poor little Hime-Time. I’m sure you’ll be useful one day.”
He grinned. “How are you feeling?”
“A lot better actually. But I’m definitely in need of a shower, And i might brush my teeth 5 times, no biggy.”
He laughed and pushed me in the direction of the bathroom.

I grabbed one of the towels in the junk bunk and made my way to the bathroom. I made sure to lock the door and double checked it. I was still very wary.
I took off my clothes and looked in the mirror. I looked like shit. My ginger hair was all over the place, sticking randomly to my face. I sighed. Stab. I clutched my head waiting for it to stop.
I shrugged it off and walked into the shower. The water was nice and soothing, washing out all the bad feelings. I started to lather my hair when I was interrupted by frantic knocking.
“Noortje! I have to pee! Like really bad!”
“I- I don’t know Tone.” I answered.
“Come on! I’m going to explode!”“Isn’t there a bathroom in the venue? I don’t know if i should…”
“I know you’re uncomfortable, and I fully understand.” He whispered, before he banged again really loud, “But I seriously have to pee right now. No joke.” His voice sounded really serious and I knew it was a life or death situation for him.
I sighed and stepped out out of the shower. Stab. I fell against the wall.
“Is everything ok in there?”
“Y-yeah. I-I just s-slipped.” I said with a shaky voice, “Just wait till I say you can come in ok?”
I slowly unlocked the door and hopped back in.
“Hurry up!”
“Just don’t look at me!”
“Yes! Pleeeeaaaaaase let me in!”
“Ok, come in.”
The door barged open and a red faced Tony came in. He desperately tried to unzip his pants but fumbled in the process. I laughed a bit and Tony finally got the zipper down. He faced the toilet and sighed.
“Thank god. That was barely on time.”
Tony stood for quite sometime. I guess he really was desperate.
“Well, this is kinda awkward.” I coughed.
“Shut up!”
He pulled up his zipper again and put on his belt. He started to unconsciously turn my direction.
“No! Don’t look at me!” I screamed.
“Oops, sorry…. I guess I’ll just leave now?”
“Yes.”

Tony walked out and softly closed the door behind him. I sighed and continued washing myself. It wasn’t that bad, was it? Tony would never do what Rick did… right? I suddenly remembered that the door was still unlocked and quickly jumped out of the shower. I wrapped my towel around myself and locked the door. That was close.

Hahaha, thank you. You can totally see how my writing has developed in this story; the first chapters are written so bad. I'm excited for our story as well.

Yaaaaay I read it all! I finished it! I loved it, babe. You're an amazing writer and I'm happy I get to work together with you :) ♡

@Nickyvlxx
Thank you so much. I remember writing chapter three when I was in a really weird mood; I was so confused about everything. I'm Dutch as well, but (as I recall you saying somewhere at the beginning of the story; I have a really weird memory for weird things) English is my first language because I've been speaking it a lot more than Dutch since I was very young. But this wasn't the reason I chose to make her Dutch, I wanted something European and put some random countries in a hat (well, on a website, but same thing) and it came out. So yay!

I have read 3 chapters now and I honestly love it! You have a beautiful writing style and the story is really unique! I also kind of relate to Noortjes feelings. I have the same problems with reality. And I like it a lot that she is dutch because I am too :p

I'M STILL READING!!
