Bulletproof Love

Jaime’s POV:

Emily locked herself in the bathroom and I pulled up a movie, I was just getting into my movie when I heard a loud crash from the bathroom. I jumped up and grabbed the knob trying to open the door. I tried to bust the door down but I couldn’t, I banged on the door hoping for a response but I heard nothing.

“Emily! Emily! Please open the door!” I yelled, no response. I ran down stairs and to the front desk.

“Help, my friend is in the bathroom and I can’t get in! I think she’s hurt please help! Please!” I begged.

“Yes sir, just hold on one…” I cut her off.

“No I will not hold on you are going to get someone to open the damn door now, because if my best friend is hurt I am not going to be happy!” I yelled, the lady behind the desk nodded and got someone who followed me back up the stairs.

They unlocked the door and as it swung open I saw my best friend laying on the bathroom floor covered in blood.

“Call 911!” I cried. My knees gave out and I crawled over to her limp body, and held her in my arms.

“Em, you can’t go. Please, I need you and so does everyone else. It was just such a big shock today and come on Em, nobody ever would really want you to be hurt. Em please don’t go” I was left in the silence of just me talking to my unconscious friend. As I held her I sang.

“I kissed the scars on her skin, I still think you’re beautiful, and I don’t ever want to lose my best friend” I started to cry as I pulled her closer to me. This cannot be happening. The paramedics got here and ripped her out of my arms.

“Are you coming with?” one of them asked, I nodded and grabbed her backpack and letter, what a night. Even though that she didn’t look too good for the first time since I had met her she looked peaceful. I pulled out my phone and texted everyone telling them where to meet us, but I knew that I was going to have to call Tony.

We got to the hospital son and they wouldn’t let me go in with Emily, I was forced in the waiting room. It was completely silent before I heard Vic.

“Jaime where is she?” he yelled running towards me. I stood up and stared at Vic. I couldn’t begin to explain what had happened so I handed him the letter, he scanned it then looked at me.

“You are my big brother and have been with me when I needed you, except now” he quoted her letter. I stared blankly at his face.

“I am such a bad brother” he screamed as he fell to the floor. “I have been in this same hospital with her so many times and this time it was me that caused the pain!” he yelled. Mike sat down next to his brother and held him.

“Tony doesn’t know does he?” Mike asked.

“Tony still thinks she was cheating on him, and even if she had gotten the words out, he was too drunk to process anything. He slapped her” I said informing everyone on the situation Tony was about to be in.

“How did she look?” Mike asked, with sad eyes.

“Not too good” I whispered. Cameron came running in screaming.

“WHERE IS MY BEST FRIEND?” she yelled at the lady at the front desk.

“I NEED TO SEE HER!” she screamed as she started throwing papers around.

“Miss you can’t…” Cam didn’t listen she sprinted through the door anyways.

Cameron walked out five minutes later looking pale as a ghost.

“What?” Mike asked.

“Her arms, they, they…” she couldn’t finish her sentence, she broke out in tears.

A nurse came out and called for Vic, but we all walked over to her.

“As of right now she doesn’t look like she is going to make it, she lost a lot of blood” the nurse spoke so calmly but that’s when it happened. Mike sat down on the ground and started balling his eyes out. None of us had ever seen him cry but here we are watching him spill everything out.

“Jaime, you need to call Tony” he said in between breathes. And I did.
