Bulletproof Love

“Emily get out of there now. You’ve been in there forever and I need to get my bags from the closet before I leave tomorrow.” I smiled in the bathroom mirror as I heard my oldest brother yelling. I slid my back down the door until I reached the floor. “So if I never come out you’ll never leave?” I asked already knowing the answer. “Em I want to stay as much as you want me too but we both know that I need to go on tour.” I could hear his smile through his words. “Vic I don’t want you to go I get really lonely when you’re gone.” I said sounding like a whiny five year old. “If you open the door then you me and mike can go out for dinner tonight.” Oh man mikes going to be gone too. I’m going to miss my brothers, but the thought of going out to eat with them did sound like a good option. I stood up from the ground and sighed as I looked in the mirror. I unlocked the door and peaked my head out to find my brother with his back against the wall. “Fine, fine I surrender!” I stated throwing my hands up for a dramatic effect. Vic stood up and smiled before pulling me into a hug. “Before you pack can you help me?” I said pointing to my bandaged hand. Vic smiled and looked opened the medicine cabinet. I hopped onto the counter and took the old band aids off my hand. I shivered at the sight of my wounded hand. “Let me see.” Vic said pulling my hand out so he could study it better. You see a few weeks ago I was at a Bring Me the Horizon concert and I ended up being thrown against a fence while in the middle of a mosh pit. When I reached out to pull myself up I sliced my hand on an exposed wire. “Ow!” I flinched sending me out of my flashback and into reality where my brother was wrapping my hand up tightly. “Thanks.” I mumbled before hopping off of the counter and giving my brother a light punch in the arm. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me in for another hug. “You know I really am going to miss you Em.” I just hugged back tighter trying to keep myself from crying. I didn’t want my brother to leave. “Go get ready dinners at six.” He let me go and I ran up to my room.
I hopped onto my bed and opened up Tumblr on my phone. After checking up on all my social media I looked at the time. “5:15” I said to myself. I got of my bed and walked towards my closet trying to decide what to wear. I ended up throwing on my Sleeping with Sirens crew neck and my favorite black skinny jeans. I straightened my hair and put on some quick makeup. After I was ready I grabbed my phone to check the time. It was 5:55 so I turned on some music. “Yeah boy and doll face” came on and I immediately sang along to Vic’s voice. My brother’s band was pretty good and everyone else seemed to agree. Although I wasn’t allowed to meet the other members or really be involved with the band I still loved Pierce the Veil. Some loud knocking ended my thoughts only to be followed by Vic’s voice. “Em, Mike is here. Let’s go!” I grabbed my phone and ran out of my room quickly passing Vic. I ran out of the door and got into mikes car beating Vic to the shot gun seat. Vic got in and sat in the middle once we were all buckled and ready we pulled out of the drive way in mikes old pickup truck. About five minutes into the ride I realized I didn’t know where we were going. “So! Where are we going to eat?!” I said a little too excited. They both jumped then laughed. “I don’t know where did you wanna go little nerd?” Mike asked. They have been calling me nerd since day one due to the fact that my favorite things were stars wars and ninja turtles. “You guys are the ones leaving me for like two months you should at least do one good thing for me.” I said placing my hand over my forehead as dramatic as I could. I giggled before waiting for their response. “Fine, what about in and out burger? Sound good for you guys?” Mike said. Me and Vic let out a happy sigh and to In and Out Burger we went.
We were already eating before we sat down. I got the vegan burger due to the fact that I am vegetarian. Mike and Vic both got bacon cheese burgers. It was a great meal to share with my two best friends, and it was going to be a long time before I got to do this again. I pushed that thought out of my mind and just tried to enjoy the rest of the night. The ride home was pretty silent except for Mikes light tapping on the steering wheel and the quiet music we had playing. We pulled into the driveway and I got out first. We entered the house and I went to my room right away not wanting to deal with my brothers and the fact that they wouldn’t be here tomorrow. “Goodnight” I sighed semi loud the slammed my door. I laid in my bed in dead silence for an hour before I could finally fall into a deep sleep.
