Counting The Stars and Scars

*Jaime's POV*

When we walked back into the house I heard cheers from everyone then I felt Max cuddle into me as I started leading her to the kitchen by her hand for a JD for me and an OJ for her, "I'm sorry.. She said but was cut off when Mike came running in, high as always when he is at a party, "Bro that was amazing!!" He rushed as he picked her up and twirled her around, I eyed him up and went back to pouring our drink, when he put Max back on her feet, they hugged a long hug, he mumbled something into her neck and in return she mumbled something into his chest which made him pull away and walk out quickly, she sat back down swirling the OJ in front of her before drinking it, "What were you and Mike talking about?" I asked, downing my JD and pouring another, I could feel the full effects of the alcohol starting to kick in, "Oh it's nothing" she said sipping on the juice, I nodded and walked out sighing, I am getting no where with her. I walked to the couch and sat back down with the bottle of JD, I looked up at the kitchen as I saw Mike entering and hugging Max, they started talking and laughing, I started feeling so stupid and helpless, why doesn't she speak to me like that? I watched them with anger and jealousy as I kept swigging the bottle, I don't know what came over me but I had enough of they two, I got up and stumbled over standing behind Mike.

Max looked at me, "Himes?" She said walking towards me, "What's wrong baby?" She asked rubbing my arm, I shook her off, "Why don't you stay with him tonight, you two seem close anyway?" I said, growling at the both of them, knew I would regret it even more in the morning but right now I didn't care, "Jaime, calm down" Mike said stepping in front of Max, who was nearly crying, "No! Why don't you marry her? You two seem like the perfect match!" I shouted, people were starting to stare and I could see Max was crying harder now, "You don't mean that" she said stepping beside Mike, letting the tears fall, "Do you want a bet?" I asked looking at the both of them, Vic soon approached us, grabbing a hold if my arm and dragging me outside, "What the fuck is that all about!?" He said throwing water from the bird bath on me, I just shrugged, "They seem to be having a fucking amazing time of their own!" I said getting angry again, "Actually! Max is trying to cheer Mike up after she caught Alysha cheating on him earlier with Ben Bruce but yeah I'm sure that's lots of fun, you fucking idiot. You're about this close to losing the girl that gives you life and more, do you really want to fuck that up?" He said shouting at me and making different hand gestures to justify his words, I realised he was right, "I have to apologise!" I said rushing back inside and glancing about for Max, I spotted her in Mike's arms on the couch crying her eyes out. I couldn't be angry at Mike for that because it's my fault.

I walked over to them and stood over them, Max looked up at me with sad eyes, "What do you want?" She said cowering into Mike's side, "Max I'm really sorry for the way I behaved, Mike I didn't know about Alysha until Vic told me just now, I am so sorry, I love you so much and I didn't mean anything I said, I promise" I slurred as I was on the verge of crying, she nodded as did Mike, "We'll speak about it tomorrow, Mike" she said before getting up and pulling Mike off the sofa, " I love you too" she said before pecking my lips and going upstairs with Mike, god I really fucked up this time, didn't I?
