*Max's POV*

I got out of the car with Winter, I couldn't wait to show Jaime her later, I walked in and to my surprise Jaime was on the couch talking to Vic, it fell quiet as Jaime stood up, "Where were you?" He asked as he started to walk towards me, it felt like things with Jason all over again, "I was out getting a tree with Mike" I said as I pointed behind me, hoping Mike was there but he wasn't, "I called you about 30 times and left 20 messages on your phone and you couldn't answer 1 of them because you were our with Mike?" he said raising his voice I started to get anxiety, I saw Vic stand up out of the corner of my eye, "Jaime I think you should calm down" he said, walking towards us, "No Vic stay out of this!!" He shouted, "I was worried sick about you!! I thought something had happened when I went to your house but there was no answer and no key under the pot!! You didn't think to call me or text me once?" He started shouting at me again, I pulled my phone out of my pocket, pressing the home button but my screen didn't light up, "I-It's out of Ch-Charge" I stuttered getting really scared, Vic came over and grabbed the puppy out of my hands.

"Your phone might be out of charge but I'm pretty sure Mike's wasn't? Why didn't you call off Mike's phone or were you just having such a good time without me that you forgot I existed ? I mean you bought a tree with him for fuck sakes, that supposed to be our job?" He shouted in my face, I could feel the tears running down my face "I-I'm sorry you were busy and I didn't know my phone ran out of charge, I'm sorry" I said crying, "Oh your sorry?" He laughed, "Hold up everyone she's sorry, that makes everything better, doesn't it?" He screamed as he stormed upstairs, I couldn't hold it in anymore I completely broke down and started shaking, Vic set Winter down and came over leading me to the couch, cradling me as I sobbed into him, I heard Mike come in but didn't look up, I heard Vic whisper, "Kitchen. Now!!" And Mike making his way through to the kitchen, "Hey Max, I'm going to talk to Mike okay, stay here" he said getting up before he could leave me I grabbed his hand, "Don't blame Mike, I told him to steal your car because it can fit the tree in it better than anyone else's" I said looking at Vic with pleading eyes, "Okay, honey" he said kissing my forehead before going to the kitchen.

I heard them have a whisper argument and I couldn't take anymore arguments today so I picked up Winter and left quietly, on my way home I stopped at a park and sat under a tree, Winter curled up beside me, I started crying even more now, it felt like the old days of school, I decided I'd better get home before someone comes looking for me and I raced home, locking the door behind me, I ran upstairs and put my phone in charge immediately and sure enough it started vibrating appearing with different messages and phone calls on the screen, I ignored them all and called mt auntie in San Francisco, "Hello?" She picked up, "Hey auntie Marie it's Max" I said, sniffing, "Aawww Max honey how are you, we miss you over here!!" She said happily down the phone, "I'm good I missed you guys too!" I said, 'guys' being my other aunties, uncles and cousins , "Hey I was wondering if I could stay with you for a couple days, you know to catch up?" I asked, "Yes sure you're always welcome, will you be bringing a guest like you know Mike or maybe your boyfriend?" She asked, she met Mike a couple of years back and honestly I think she has a crush on him or something, she's never met Jaime but she's seen pictures, "No, just me" I said she gave a simple okay and we started arranging times for my uncle to pick me up, he's coming tomorrow at 11am. I knew Mike had a big mouth and would get the news around so I texted him:

I'm going to my aunties for a couple of days, tell the guys I love them especially Jaime, okay? xx

I got an immediate response,

From- Mikey<3:
Okay babes, I love you too, see you when you get back stay safe and have fun xx

I locked my phone and decided to go to sleep in my clothes as I would be getting a shower in the morning and I don't have the energy to change after all that crying.
