Counting The Stars and Scars

*Jaime's POV*

We drove to the small Cafe down town, where we were meeting everyone, we sat in silence, but it was comfortable silence, we were taking in the view of a warm summers morning. We drove past at least three different Cafe's and at everyone we passed, Max jumped up and gasped pointing, but relaxed back in her seat when we drove straight past it. Finally I pulled in, parking and turning the engine off, she must have been hungry as she jumped out and ran inside, forgetting her bag, so I decided to take it in for her, putting the strap over my shoulder and walking in earning giggles from Max and the guys.

Vic stood up first as he hugged Max, his apparel looking neat, Tony was next, looking good as usual and finally Mike, his outfit was his usual, his hug with Max lasting longer than the others, earning a sideway glance of jealousness from me. Of course I got jealous now and again of how close Max and Mike are, I loved that girl and I don't want anyone hurting her, wait did I just say I loved her? Maybe I do? I was pulled out of my thoughts literally as Max grabbed my hand and pulled me down in the booth beside her, she grabbed her purse and topped up her lipstick, for no reason, but I didn't question her.

When our food we ordered got here, we all dug in, Vic ordered bacon, eggs, sausage and a black coffee, Tony ordered Black coffee and a bacon and egg roll, Mike got a stack of 6 pancakes and a coffee with milk like me but I had mine personalised with a whipped cream and fruit smiley face, it had dimples like me too. The way the waitress looked at me and then at Max when she brought our food out was obvious that she was jealous of her, thinking we were an item, and god, I wish we were, just got one pancake and a black ginger tea, ginger tea can't be good for you especially first thing in the morning, can it? I was staring at the coffee as I watched the heat coming out of the mug, we soon finished our food and before we left Max ran to the restroom with her purse, maybe she just needed a pee? When she came back I saw she was chewing gum, but again I didn't question her, we walked to the car with my arm thrown around her shoulder as the waitress that served us scowled at Max, soon enough we were on our way to Vic and Mike's house for band practise and a movie night.

We started playing our last song, Hold on Till May, and by the end of it Max was in tears standing and clapping and laughing, "You guys looked and sounded amazing, I hope you get discovered soon!" she cried out, I put my bass down and walked over into her arms, the hug lasted quite a long period of time until we pulled away at the mention of pizza and went from the garage to Vic and Mike's living room. We were in the middle of watching 'Finding Nemo' my choice of course when Max interlaced our fingers and rested her head on my shoulder, "Do you want to stay at mine tonight?" she whispered, "Yeah that sounds good" I replied with a smile, gaining a knowing smirk from Mike. By the time we were on our third movie, The Little Mermaid', Tony's choice, Max and Vic were asleep and had disappeared to clean up our plates and pizza boxes, it was around 10:30pm when I told the guys I was gonna head to Max's and tuck her in bed, on my way out as I carried her bridal style, I heard Mike whisper-shout me, "Jaime!" I turned around, "She likes you too I know it, go for it bro, take a chance the worst that can happen is she says no?" He said nodding towards Max, I looked at her and realised she wasn't sleeping anymore she had a smirk on her face and her eyes were tightly shut, I just smiled to myself.

I went along with Max's act and carried her in , shutting the door with my foot and continuing up the stairs I came back down to lock the door and turn our the lights, I grabbed a glass of water and raced back up the stairs, I started to take Max's clothes off, not sexually just gently so I could get her pyjamas on, I then tucked her in and turned her fairy lights on, stripping myself down to my boxers, texting my Momma to tell her I was staying out, I locked my phone and started to slowly fall asleep as I was thinking about what Mike had said to me earlier, finally I was asleep and peaceful.
