I'll be the Brightest, You'll See

"Scarlett? Wake up." I heard a voice tell me as I was being shook violently. My eyes flew open and my breathing got deeper and more panicked. I sat up and looked at the person who was trying to wake me up.

"Vic?" I scrunched my face up at the sight of him.

"Are you okay?" He asked me, I could tell his voice was laced with worry but that was all. Nothing else.

"Scarlett what happened?" Alex came running into the hallway from the kitchen. He must've been inside.

Vic stood up and stared at Alex and then down at me. "I fell down the stairs." I mumbled and tried to sit up. My head felt kinda funny after blacking out.

Vic held his hand out and helped me up. I could barely see his features but he looked sad. "You okay?" He mumbled.

"Yeah." I said softly.

"Guys, are you okay?" Mike came running into the house. He had a flashlight and it lit up the room enough so I could see their faces.

"What are you doing here?" I asked them. Vic and Mike both looked at each other and shrugged.

"Tony broke his ankle so we had to drop out the rest of the tour." Mike told me. Alex walked over and stood beside me.

"How the Hell did he do that?" I scrunched up my face at the idea.

"He got super drunk and climbed on top of the RV and then fell off, it was funny but he got badly hurt." Mike explained to me. "He didn't tell Kiera because he was too scared he would upset her. So he decided to keep it a secret until everyone got back." Mike finished.

I looked at Vic whom had a solemn look upon his face. "Are you okay?" I whispered to him. He looked at me and nodded slightly.

"Where is Kiera and Ali anyway?" Mike asked.

"Ali is at her boyfriend's and Kiera is out with friends tonight." I told them.

"I'm gonna take off." Alex announced. I gave him a warning look but he returned it.

"I'll see you later." I told I'm as he walked out of the house.

As soon as the door shut Vic snapped his head towards me. "Why was he here?" Vic asked.

"I didn't like being home myself." I answered quickly, unable to look at him.

"So you invited him?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't really think you have a say since you left me crying in my garden 3 days ago." I snapped back at him.

"You cheated on me though." He said as if it was totally valid.

"We were broken up, Vic." I said rolling my eyes.

"Well I totally don't regret that decision." He said obnoxiously, it actually reminded me of when we were in high school.

"Grow up Vic, you're just being a jerk now." I said folding my arms across my chest and rolling my eyes, again.

"Well I guess I am a jerk then but you're a cheater." He smirked at me.

"Just go away." I walked over to the door, that's when I noticed Mike was still standing there; awkwardly. Vic stormed out of the house and left me and Mike standing there, unsure of what to say. Mike turned to leave the house too but I remembered why I needed someone with me tonight. "Mike wait." I said frantically. "Can you stay tonight." I said quickly, feeling a little embarrassed.

He didn't even question it, he just nodded. We locked the door and then went back up stairs to my room. I looked out some candles for my room and lit them up. "Are you gonna tell me why you need me to stay." He asked. So I told him, everything.
