Chapter 19

This time it was on purpose. This time I meant to do it. This time I didn't push him away. This time we both were into it. This time....it felt amazing.

His lips were soft and tasted like stale weed and beer. But it was watered down with this type of fruity taste which made it very much enjoyable. Our tongues were down each other's throats at midnight in his car parked in the middle of nowhere.

I couldnt be happier.

Finally, we pulled away and caught our breath. "Do you mind taking me back to Vic's? I wanna talk to Danielle." I timidly question. "Of course." He rushes before turning the engine back on.

Slowly, he drove off and we sat in silence. It wasn't awkward. It actually felt normal. Kellin kept glancing at me, the radio was playing in the background quietly and I had my eyes fixed on my phone where I had gotten plenty of calls from Vic and a text.

What the fuck?! Jenna's calling and saying you're missing.

I let it be and decided to explain when I actually got there. Kellin sighed quietly and I glanced at him. A small smile was forming on his face and for some odd reason he looked happier.

Less tired, face was more brighter, and he was shining. Could one kiss really do that? Was he really that into me? I'm a kindergarten teacher who has a cold hearted bitch attitude. How the hell could a hot musician have a thing for me?

The car came to a halt once we reached Vic's house and I grabbed my bag and curled my fingers around the strap. "I'll call you soon. Just...just give me some air." I frown remembering how guilty I felt. "I understand." He nods.

"May I?" He questions, slowly leaning in. I skip the answer and go straight for his lips. We pull away and I exit the car to the front porch. When I entered, the sound of TV was heard in the living room.

"I've missed this place." I comment as my eyes land on Danielle who's sitting on the couch on her phone. She shoots up and grins before standing and grabbing me to pull me into a tight hug. Ever since our fight, I dropped contact with Vic and even Danielle.

i stayed away from the Fuentes house and tried to carry on with Jenna. But now I realized I need them the most. "Vic's been so worried about you. We heard about Jenna and you. I'm so sorry it wasn't working out Marilyn." Danielle rushes in one breath.

I wiped my teary eyes and hugged her again. Soft footsteps padded throughout the house and I turned my head to see Vic at the bottom of the stairs. He was gnawing on his nail nervously as his eyes darted between Danielle and I.

Danielle shot me a smile before turning the tv off and going up the stairs. Vic launched forward and simply wrapped his arms around me. "You can come back. You can stay as long as you want." He murmurs, guilt dripping from his voice.

"I can't help but feel guilty you know? Jenna just loved me too much and...all I thought about was the fact that I was being rushed into it that I didn't realize she was so in love with me." I rant once Vic gets me settled on his couch.

"It's totally fine to feel guilty now. But sometimes things don't work out and you can't blame yourself forever." Vic explains, rubbing my back gently. I nodded and he smiled. "Look, we'll talk more in the morning. But I have to get back to Danielle and you need to sleep." Vic pats my back as we stand.

"By the way, congrats on the engagement." I state with a grin. Vic tries to play it off and look confused, "Vic, that ring is super shiny and bright. I doubt anyone would miss it." I comment before walking up the stairs in silence.

I threw my bag on the floor and got rid of my shirt and pants before sliding into bed in my undergarments. A small buzz was heard in my bag so I grabbed my phone and eyed the text.

Kellin: Guess what, tonight, this amazing girl kissed me.
