Emilia's POV

I felt my heart beat pick up a notch in my chest as I heard all the announcements being made in the airport, within minutes I will be on my very first plane ride. I bounced my leg up and down anxiously at the thought and felt my breath get thicker as the start of an anxiety attack came rolling in. I opened my eyes and looked at our small group before turning to face my sister.
"Hay-Hayley." I said as I tried to keep my voice steady. She looked up from her phone and as soon as she looked at me her eyes go wide.
"Em are you alright?"
"Ye-yeah. I'm going to the restroom real quick." I shoot up from my seat and walk away before I could give her the chance to say anything. I walk through the sea of people making their way around the airport and go into the first restroom I see. I make my way inside the surprisingly empty restroom and stop in front of one of the sinks. I grip on the white porcelain and turn on the faucet before cupping some of the cool water and bring it to my face. I bring my hands down slowly as I let the water run down and lift my head up to the mirror to see my face for the first time- the fear was clearly visible in my brown eyes. I ran the water on my face once more and turn off the faucet as I let the water dry. I take a deep breath and look at myself in the mirror, I spot the shirt peeking at the bottom of my hoodie and at the sight of it I start to feel a little better. I feel a smile start to form on my lips as I think of him and his letter. I think back on his words and an idea sparks my mind. I bring out my phone from my back pocket and slide my finger up on the little camera icon as soon as the screen is on. I change the view to the front camera and switch it to recording. I let out a deep breath and start to feel a little nervous at attempting this since I knew this would be the first time he actually saw me besides the picture on my profile. Hopefully he isn't disappointed in what he sees. I press the record button and lift my arm a little higher to get a better view.

'Hi! I'm a little nervous doing this, not going to lie but I wanted to give it a shot since we were never able to properly Skype. I just wanted to tell you that I got your package in the mail, just in time too and look-I wanted to wear it today as I get on this plane to kinda calm me down on this trip. I'm so scared since I've never been on a plane before but I know it will be a good trip so I'm trying to remain calm. Thank you so much for your letter by the way, I couldn't stop smiling after I read it. I think everyone here probably thought something was wrong with me but I brought it with me so I can read it again later.'

I hear the door open behind me and I turn to see Hayley. "Are you feeling better? Adrian sent me to come and get you, we are about to board the plane."
"Ok give me a minute, I'll be right there."

'Looks like I have to go! I wish things were differently and I was flying over there instead but who knows maybe that time will come some time soon. Oh and before I forget, you should be having something coming your way in the next couple of days. Ok, I really got to go this time. I'll talk to you later! I turn the camera off and unlock my phone to get to my profile. I search for his name in my recent messages and upload the video before hitting the send button. As soon as it's cleared I turn off my phone once more and walk out of the restroom. I feel a rush hit me as I see all the people walking around and the realization of the trip starts to hit me again. I take a deep breath to try to keep myself calm as I spot Hayley and walk up to her.
"Hey sorry for-" I start to say but am cut off by Adrian, our group leader.
"Oh good there you are, I thought we lost you Emilia."
"No, I just went to the restroom." He nods and stands in between Hayley and I, putting himself in front of me. He puts his hands on my arms and looks at me intently. I shift my weight, feeling a bit uncomfortable but stare at his light green eyes as I wait for a response.
"Are you feeling alright?"
"Yes, I was just a bit shaky." Before I can get the chance to acknowledge his movement I feel his arms around me as he brings me in for a hug.
"Everything will be ok." I feel his hand move back and forth as he tries to comfort me and I awkwardly pat his back before he finally lets me go. "You have your ticket ready?" I smile and nod and he returns the gesture with a smile before walking away and leaving Hayley and I alone once more. As soon as he out of reach I raise my eyebrow and give Hayley a look as she does the exact same.
"What was that?"
"I was just about to ask you the same thing." I tell her as we grab our carry on bags and walk to the gate.
"I'm telling you Em I think Adrian has the hots for you."
"Now that's just crazy."
"Is it really? I mean why would he be all over you like that?"
"I don't know maybe he was worried?"
"Right." I roll my eyes playfully at her and I feel her smack my shoulder with her ticket before we give them to the lady. "Don't believe me then." I let out a laugh and shake my head as we start to board the plane.
"Ok lets say you might be right-"
"Might? Oh no, no, I know" We find our seats and get ourselves settled before I turn to her.
"Ok since you know-" I say putting air quotations on the word "-it doesn't matter to me, I'm not interested in him."
"Ohhh right, I see you're still hung up on this Vincent guy."
"Hey I'm not hung up on him, yes maybe I like him-" She turns around completely in her seat and tilts her head giving me her expression that I knew best.
"Really Emilia like him? You're wearing his shirt! Don't act like I didn't know, I saw you this morning when you tried to hide it." I look down at the hem of the the shirt and start to laugh.
"Ok,ok maybe I like him a little more then I said. Can you blame me?"
"Do you even know anything about this guy? What if he's some creep? Haven't you ever seen that show Catfish,most of those people find out they have been lied to this whole time."
"No I know he's not like that, believe me I had those thoughts run through my mind too."
"Alright then, if you say so. I'm just trying to look out for you. I don't want you getting hurt over this guy."
"Oh Hayley, you know I love you right?"
"I'm being serious Em."
"I know and so am I! I really appreciate you looking out for me but I think I got it under control." I grin at her and I see her roll her eyes before she smiles in return.
"I can't believe we are actually doing this." She says to change the subject and for once I feel my nerves ease a bit and start to finally get excited.
"I know right. Goodbye Florida and hello Puerto Rico!"
