Summer had passed, it was now coming close to the first week of September. The boys had finished up with a new album that they were naming Selfish Machines. Luckily, being one of their good friends, I was able to get my hands on the tracks and hear them before it was published. It sounded amazing, a lot different from A Flair for the Dramatic, and it was going to be a great way for them to gain more fans. Things were back to normal between Mike and I, and when I say normal I mean we were back to our fighting selves. We both pulled rude tricks on each other, both made fun of each other… To my dismay, Mike was still dating Josie… a shock to all of us, honestly. He took pride in flaunting her in front of me like she was some delicious, rare piece of steak; when in all honesty she was just as valuable as the average dairy cow.

I sat at my desk, replying to emails, something that was taking over my life once again, when Alec walked into my cubicle with a smile on his face. "Coffee, my dear?" He handed me a mug full of the caffeinated liquid.

I smiled, "Well look at you being Mr. Perfect!"

"I try," he beamed. "How are those emails coming along?"

"Slowly but surely, Rae Matthews wins the race," I groaned and sipped at my coffee. "We're like the tortoise and the hare. You get everything done so quickly, and I move at a snails pace."

He grabbed my hand, "Well just think, you get to leave here in fifteen minutes, and then tonight you get to enjoy time with your favorite person, Mr. Perfect."

I rolled my eyes, "It's only cute when I call you that. I am really glad you're coming with me to dinner, though. I might die without you there. Everyone's all coupled up."

"And someone has to make your hobo of a boy jealous," Alec smirked.

"Please don't call him a hobo to his face again," I laughed as I went over another email.

Alec laughed, "He looks like one with that beard he's got growing."

"He looks like the Mexican Jesus."

"Hello my name is Mike Fuentes. You can call me God. I perform miracles such as pissing Rae off then getting her panties wet."

"Alec!" I smacked his leg, "Don't say that. We're in the office!"

He cackled, "You didn't deny it."

"Out," I shook my head and laughed. "Thank you for the coffee but get the hell out of my cubicle."

"Like I won't peek over the barrier and harass you," he laughed. "What am I wearing tonight?"

"Jeans and a t-shirt. I'll pick you up at five."

He batted his eyelashes at me, "Oh Rae, it sounds like you're taking me out on a date."

"I swear to god, you're gay," I laughed and gave him a small shove. "Let me get these emails out of the way so I can leave and make myself look beautiful for tonight."

"You may want to start by washing your hair," he pointed to the bun on he top of my head.

"Alec Andrew Gaglio…" I muttered.

"I'm going," he smiled and kissed the top of my head before walking away.

Alec and I, with a little help from the guys, had convinced Mike that we were together. Not officially a couple, but you know, together. Mike, of course, got in a pissy mood whenever Alec came around. The day Alec and Mike met, Mike had started growing out a mustache and beard, and Alec made a comment asking if he was going for the "hobo chic" look. Mike then took it upon himself to tell Alec he looked like a flaming homosexual and started a little tiff between the two. One of the best parts of Alec and I's plan to make Mike jealous was that when Mike finally decided to crack, Alec would be able to go after Josie because he really wanted to hit it.

I finished replying to emails and then packed all my stuff up. I walked over to Alec's cubicle and gave him a hug goodbye before driving home. As usual, Diablo greeted me at the door, as well as left me a little puddle underneath the kitchen table. I was used to him peeing in the house; it was bound to happen seeing as I worked all day long and it's not like he had a doggy door to the balcony. I cleaned up his mess then fed him and took him out for a walk. He followed me into my room and laid down on the bed as I got ready for my evening. I took a quick shower and came back in to find him zonked out on my pillow. It's a good thing that hairless dogs weren't dirty animals. I dried my hair and curled it, then applied some make-up. I filled in my lips and eyebrows then did a gold smokey eye with winged eyeliner. I took my hands and tousled my hair that was now down to my belly button. I had been taking prenatal pills for hair growth, and boy were they working. I walked over to my closet and grabbed a white crop top and a pair of white high-heeled wedge sandals. I then grabbed a pair of ripped, light blue high waisted jeans and pulled them on. I finished my outfit with some gold jewelry and smiled at my reflection. I looked down right amazing. I had been going to the gym with Alec and had toned myself up a bit. My stomach was nice, slim and tight. My arms were toned. My legs were perfect. My boobs looked extremely perky in my push-up bra and my butt looked great in my jeans. I told Diablo goodbye and made sure he had water, and then left to pick up Alec.

Vivian smiled when she saw me walk into the front door, "Hija! You look beautiful!" She engulfed me in a hug and pressed her lips to my cheek. "You must be Alec! Nice to meet you!" She pulled Alec in for a hug as well. She then whispered in my ear, "Vic explained it all to me."

I grinned, "Good. I hope my plan works." Vivian hated Josie. She hated every girl that Mike brought home, except me. I walked over to Victor and pressed a kiss to his cheek, "What's up, Pops?"

"If only I was young," he smiled at me. "Everyone's out back, grab some drinks and go out there. Dinner will be ready soon."

"Rae Bear!" Jaime exclaimed when we walked out back. "Look at you, look at you!"

I did a 360 spin and threw my arms in the air, "Do I look good or what?!"

"You look fantastic! Both of you!" Mia grinned, "Alec, please teach me how to achieve a perfect body."

"Best personal trainer ever," I smiled and kissed Alec on the cheek. We sat down at the table with everyone and said our hellos. My eyes fell right to Josie, "You look very pretty, Jo."

She smiled and flipped her hair over her shoulder, "Thank you. I got a new set of extensions put in yesterday."

"They look so natural," I plastered a fake smile on my face; beginning another part of my plan… make Josie my best friend. "I wish my hair looked that good."

"I can give you the number of my hairdresser if you'd like it," she smiled. Of course the little bitch was too shoved up her own ass to compliment me back, but I'd deal with it. "I think Mike needs to pay her a visit. His hair is getting too long."

I laughed, Mike wouldn't cut his hair for some girl, "Yeah. It is looking a little… long."

"I wish he'd just cut it like Alec's. You'd look so much manlier, baby," she touched his arm and batted her fake eyelashes at him.

"I'm not cutting my hair like that," Mike laughed and sipped his beer. "Besides, I love when you pull on my hair in bed." Josie let out a giggle as Mike pressed a kiss to her neck.

Vivian walked outside, "Dinner's served!" We all filled our plates and started eating. Vivian spoke up again, "How's work, Rae? I hope your man is being a good little assistant."

I smiled and looked up at her, "He's the best assistant ever. Not only does he help me get rid of so much stress, he also goes out and gets me lunch and coffee. Sometimes he even surprises me with flowers on his way in."

"I'm glad someone's treating my baby right," Victor smiled. "Hear that, Mike? Maybe you should get some tips from Alec on how to be a good boyfriend for Josie."

"Funny," Mike rolled his eyes and continued eating.

"Mike, you've never bought me flowers," Josie pouted and pushed her plate away from her. She had only eaten maybe five bites of food, and of course she was full… God forbid she'd gain weight on her tiny little stick body. Tiny little stick body with huge fake boobs.

I gave her a sad smile, "It's okay, Jo. Mike only ever bought me flowers when he was on tour."

Vic chimed in, "I bring Alex flowers at least once a week. Alec and I both go to the same place."

"I'm so jealous," Josie whined. "Mikey…"

He huffed and looked at her, putting his hand on her thigh, "Whatever flowers you want, baby. I'll get them for you."

"No," she pouted. "You're only doing this now because you look bad."

Alec smiled, "See, Mike. The trick is to just do it before they find a way to complain that you don't do it. You've got to keep your woman happy, or you'll lose her. Isn't that right, Josie?"

"You're exactly right, Alec." She looked at Mike, "If you want to keep me you better impress me, Mikey."

"I'll grant every little wish you desire, darling," he kissed her lips softly.

Three points for Rae Matthews; my plan was fucking working.

After dinner Vivian just so happened to put Mike and I both on cleaning duty. I swear she loved to stir shit up just as much as I did. The first few minutes of us washing dishes we were silent. I rinsed the dishes while Mike put them in the dishwasher. He walked away and started to bring the food in, placing all the food on the table and grabbing the plastic wrap from the pantry. He wrapped up the food and put it in the refrigerator. I closed the dishwasher and turned around because I felt eyes boring into the back of my head.

"What?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Your boyfriend makes me look bad," he crossed his arms.

I laughed, "You make yourself look bad."

"No. He has to come in here and act like he's gods fucking gift to girlfriends and make me look like shit in front of Josie and my parents," he muttered.

"I'm sorry he knows how to treat a girl right."

"I treated you right."

"I never said you didn't," I smirked.

"You implied it."

"You're so jealous," I shook my head, my smirk still on my face.

"And stop trying to be Josie's friend," he said, ignoring what I just said.

"J. E. A. L. O. U. S."

He groaned, "Shut up, Rae."

"Admit it," I laughed.

"I'll admit you're a bitch."

"Admit you're jealous, Mike," I smirked and walked closer to him.

"There's nothing to admit," he took a step closer.

I looked up at him and leaned in, our noses almost touching, "Admit it, pussy."

"Shut the fuck up, bitch," he groaned and smashed his lips on mine, hard.

I threw my arms up and wrapped them around his neck, pulling his face closer to mine. He walked forward and pressed my back against the refrigerator. His tongue darted out of his mouth and licked against my bottom lip; I opened my mouth and let him explore. His hot breath mixed with mine, our tongues battling for dominance in the kiss. The coolness of his lip ring pressing on my lip was so familiar; like it never lost touch. The way his scruff felt against my skin made me feel alive. My hands were tangled in the long, black, shaggy mess that was now down to his shoulders. His hands were busy leaving bruises on my hips. This kiss was hungry, but still held so much hatred and passion at the same time. At the moment, I didn't care who walked through that sliding glass door that lead into the kitchen, and I don't think he did either. He pulled away and rested his forehead on mine, looking into my eyes with his big brown orbs. Neither one of us said anything, we just stared at each other. This lasted for about five minutes until our breathing got back to normal.

"I missed you," we both said at the same time. Triggering my cheeks to turn red and a smile to form on Mike's face.

I smiled and touched his face, "I love your beard."

He ran his hand up my side, "I love your body."

I blushed harder, "I've worked my ass off for it."

"You look perfect," he grinned.

“Thank you,” I gave him a soft smile, trying to make the redness in my cheeks go down. I looked down then looked back up, meeting his eyes, “Can I tell you a secret?”

“What?” He raised an eyebrow.

I smirked, “I’m not really dating Alec.”

His jaw dropped, “You tried to make me jealous.”

“Two can play at your game, Michael,” I leaned in and kissed his lips again.

He kissed back softly then pulled away, “Who would have ever thought you’d play so dirty.”

“You know me, Mikey. I love to get dirty,” I winked.

The sliding glass door opened and Mike jumped away from me. Vic walked in and gave us a questioning look, seeing as Mike was leaning awkwardly against the counter staring at Vic with wide eyes. He walked towards me, “Why are you two acting so weird?” Neither one of us said anything, he shrugged. I moved out of the way so he could go in the refrigerator and grab a couple beers. “Josie’s waiting for you outside, Mike... something about you promised to go see a movie.”

“I’ll be out there in a minute,” Mike replied quickly. Vic smirked and walked outside. Mike walked over to me and cupped my chin in his hands, “Dinner next Friday. I’ll pick you up at six. Wear that leopard dress I love.” He leaned in and kissed my lips softly, “I’ll be seeing you.”
