Disenchanted Lullabye

I woke up with Miranda still in my arms and I just laid there, content with the feeling I had. I could feel her stir and I pretended to be still asleep.

"Jaime, we really gotta stop waking up this way." I heard her say in a whisper then chuckle. "I know you're not still asleep, Hime." she laughed again.

"I'm too comfy, shh." I said with a nervous laugh.

"I don't know how since you slept on a couch. I'm all kinds of sore." she said and sighed before sitting up and stretching. I followed suit and cracked my back.

"Yeah, you're right, couches are not comfy." I said with chuckle and rubbed my achy neck.

We both got up and went upstairs to get some coffee. Vic was the only one up at the time and we both made our cups and walked outside to where he was.

"Well, look! It's the two sleeping beauties." He said with a playfulness to his tired voice.

"I haven't gotten true loves kiss from my prince so I'm still asleep." she chuckled and shook her head. "Sorry, stupid Disney jokes."

"Best jokes anyone can make." I said with a smile.

After a little while Mike and Tony got up and sat with us.

"Last night was fun and we should do it more often." Mike said while sipping his coffee and we all agreed.

"Yeah, I had fun. I haven't gotten to play video games with anyone like that since I moved away." Miranda said with a slightly sad look on her face just before her phone started ringing.

She walked away to take the call.

"You two looked so cute last night all snuggled up on the couch." Mike said smugly and I rolled my eyes. I was a softy and I knew where this would go once Miranda left.

How did you even get my number?
I told you that I was done with you.
I've moved on Chris.
It's been three months, find another girl to play around with.
Please don't call me ever again.

Miranda came back and had a distraught look on her face.

"Everything okay?" Vic asked before I could.

"Oh, yeah! Just family checking in on me." She smiled but I could tell whoever had just called her made her very sad.

"I should get going. I have to work tonight and I want to get some stuff done before I have to leave. I'll probably see you guys sometime this week." She said after finishing her coffee. She hugged each one of us tightly and said goodbye.

"What was all that about?" Mike asked and looked around the rest of us.

"I don't know but I can only assume it wasn't family that called her." I said with a thoughtful shrug.

"So, on another subject... When are you gonna ask her out?" Tony said like a little school girl.

"Maybe next week. I want to get it done before our tour just so I know." I said after a moment to think. I wanted to know if anything could happen between us and as much as I would like it too happen, it's all up to her. She's a nice, smart, beautiful girl and if we end up just friends, then that would be fine with me.

"Why don't we all go to Six Flags some day next week and Tony, Vic and I will just split off and you guys can have your own little day?" Mike suggested and I nodded my head a bit more just taking as a good thought.

"Alright, it's settled. Six Flags it is. We'll just have to ask Miranda when she's free." Vic said as if he was buring the idea into his brain while I fidgeted just thinking about it. They all looked at me intently, intimidatingly.

"Alright! I'll ask her next time she's over. Geez!" I said while throwing my hands up.

We hung around for a little while until we were all fully awake

"Alright, I'm gonna go. hit me up later." I said while getting up to leave.

"Don't pussy out of this, Hime." Mike said before I walked out the door.

"I won't" I said and closed the door and sat in my car for a moment.

Well, I guess I can't drop off the planet now.
