Disenchanted Lullabye

Miranda moved away from CT, drove the whole 3,000 miles to SD in order to be closer to the plentiful job offers and to see the other side of the country but also to start a new life. Through most of her life she's wanted to be a photographer and now it was actually a viable option for her.

She left behind her family but would still talk and visit but all her hometown brought her was a few happy times mixed with plenty of sad ones.

She knew driving all the way across the country by herself was a risky thing to do but she had taken all the precautions; AAA, new tires, a full tune-up, a huge roadside repair kit and a cooler full of food. She, however, did not factor in how insanely hot it would be while driving through the lower states compared to everywhere else.

She made it through all of it; nothing could have stopped her.

She had arrived at her new home in a weeks time. She had rented a simple studio apartment near a park. It came fully furnished so there was no need to bring anything from home besides her equipment, clothes and other essentials.

It was too late to call the realtor so she could get the keys so, for the last time, she slept in her car.




She was abruptly woken up by a police officer knocking on her window and his flashlight shining into her car.

"Hello, Miss. Can you step out of the vehicle?" he asked and she groggily complied.

"Can you tell me what you're doing here so late?"

"Well, I live here now." she said with a glance to her watch. "I got here too late to get my keys from the realtor so I had to sleep in my car." She replied, now fully awake but still very sleepy.

The officer looked at her skeptically but nodded.

"Well, Miss, Welcome to California. Don't cause any trouble." He said with a very stoic expression but Miranda chuckled.

"Thank you, sir. Have a good morning!" and with that the officer left her to go back to sleep until morning.

Notes

I told you guys I would get something up for you before my warped tour date and here it is! There might be another chapter up later today but I'm not sure.

Also, I posted the very first story I ever wrote today. I wrote it in 2013 on fanfiction.net. It's about BVB but PTV is in it if you want to read that in between me uploading for this story. It's called The Best Day Ever It's the whole 1st part. I wasn't sure if anyone wanted to read the unfinished 2nd part so... yeah. I wrote it in 4 days so it's pretty short compared to the rest of my stories on here lol
