To Love Preciado

I can't believe my father is okay with me moving out. Does he sincerely not care, or is he hiding something? The fact that he had no argument to contribute to my decision kind of scares me. What if his abusing ways become more severe and my mother ends up seriously injured. It also makes me nervous thinking about my mother's mental state. Without me there, what if she becomes clinically depressed or something. Besides from being sceptical about this, I'm pretty excited as well. After all, I now get to live with my boyfriend, and what girl wouldn't want that?

I pulled up into his driveway. Before getting out of the truck I turned to look at all the bags. I'm definitely not about to unpack everything tonight, that can wait until tomorrow morning. Since tomorrow is Sunday, I shouldn't be busy and I'll have enough time to settle in.

I walked in through the front door to find Jaime watching soccer. "Guess who's your new roommate?"

"Hmm, George Clooney?" Jaime said jokingly. Then he jumped up from the couch and walked over to me.

"Close, but no." I laughed. "My dad is totally okay with me moving in!"

"Sweet!" He threw his arms around me, pulling me into a joyous hug. We swayed back and forth until he finally let go. "So how did it all go down?"

"Well, I told my mom first. She was sad, but she understands why I wanted to move out. After telling her, my father came downstairs from showering. I straight up told him I'm moving out. I was expecting him to hit me or something considering I was telling him, not asking. Instead, he simply said okay and that it's my decision to make anyways." I explained.

"That easy?" He seemed surprised. "Don't you think that's a bit odd?"

"Yeah, I am a little iffy about this whole thing." I replied. "I'm afraid he'll do something terrible to my mom. Or what if she begins to hate her life because I'm gone. You know?"

"I'm sure everything will be alright. Your mother seems like a strong woman." he simply said. Next, he leaned in and gave me a quick kiss. "Need help unloading the truck?"

"I was going to unpack everything tomorrow, but I guess I should bring everything inside tonight."

The two of us then walked out front. He opened the truck door to see all the trash bags. "Really? You filled up a bunch of trash bags?" He began to laugh. "That's classy."

I laughed too. "Whatever! It's not like I had boxes or anything, this was the best alternative."

"I guess it works." he said as he began to pull the bags out of my truck.

After we took all the bags up to his room, all that was left were the instruments. He picked up my bass, "Damn, she's a beauty!" He whistled at the bass.

I rolled my eyes and smiled at him. He can be such a goofball. I grabbed the two guitars and trudged over to his practice room. We placed the guitars in the room with all the other instruments. "You can go ahead and grab my amps, they're a bit heavy."

"Of course, ma'lady." Then he disappeared.

After bringing everything inside, we both fell onto the couch. I'm not exactly tired, but all this moving around and unloading is exhausting. Having to unpack tomorrow is going to wear me out.

"This moving stuff is a bit stressful." Jaime said. "You know, since it's still early on a Saturday night and I am in need of a beer-"

"Where are you getting at with this?" I asked, cutting him off.

"Well, you're moving in, we need to celebrate." he paused, "Maybe I can call the guys over and-"

"Honestly, that sounds like a great idea." I responded.

He pulled out his phone and began texting away. Minutes later he stood up with his fist in the air shouting, "Let's get this party started!"
