To Love Preciado

I've only been back in school for three days and I'm already stressing out again. The people, the unreasonable amount of homework, the teachers yapping; school drives me insane. Yeah I'm smart, I'm in advanced classes, I get straight A's, but that doesn't mean I like school. I actually hate school, but I have to do well so my future can blossom.

I hate that fall break is over. Last week I was able to spend all my time with Jaime. In school I only see him during third hour and lunch. I don't have any other classes with him since he's a senior and I'm only a sophomore. Luckily, once school is over, the rest of the day can be spent with my boyfriend.

Since Sunday I've been staying at his house. My father doesn't seem to care that I'm gone so I don't exactly plan on going back soon. I've been checking up on my mom everyday while my father is working, so far she's okay.

Staying with Jaime has been great. When the two of us get home he basically pampers me. He cooks, he gives me massages, he listens to all my problems; he treats me like a queen. I don't believe in one-sides relationships though so I try and do the same for him.

I find it weird that Jaime and I have only been officially together for a couple weeks. I mean, before that we were a thing for a month, but in that short amount of time I've fallen in love with him. I love absolutely everything about him, he's perfect to me. He brings color and light to my dark world. He makes me so happy and that's what really matters.



It's finally sixth hour, the bell should be ringing soon. As time ticked and the end of the school day came closer I began to grow more anxious. Although I just saw Jaime a couple hours ago, I already miss him. The clock struck 3:00, the bell rang, and I was out of there in a jiffy.

I walked down the halls, approaching the area Jaime's last hour is in. I quickly spotted him, he was just standing there looking down at his phone. As I stopped in front of him he looked at me, smiled, then wrapped his arms around me bringing me into a tight hug.

"You ready to go?" I asked him.

He nodded and took my hand. We walked down the hall together, our fingers interlocked. It feels good being able to show the world he's all mine.

We were out of the building and approaching the parking lot. Before reaching the truck a couple of guys stopped us. One was short, chubby, tan, but quite ugly. The other tall, thin, and his face far too familiar. Steven.

"I see you found yourself a little boyfriend." the boy, Steven said.

"Get out of my way." I replied.

"But, Rosaline, I miss you. We haven't chatted in a while." A mischievous smile spread on his face. "How've you been? I see you have a few bruises, is Daddy hitting you again?" Laughter followed his cruel remark.

Before I could say anything Jaime butted in, "Who the fuck do you think you are?" He stepped a little closer to Steven and widened his chest.

Steven stepped forward as well. "Oh, I guess Rosaline hasn't told you about me?"

Instantly, Jaime grabbed the collar of Steven's shirt and pulled him closer. Jaime's mouth was centimeters away from Steven's ear. He whispered, "Talk to my girl again and you're going to fucking regret it." Jaime let go of him and slightly shoved him. The two guys then ran off.

We were sitting in the truck when he finally asked, "Who the hell was that?"

"He's just an ex of mine." I said quietly, afraid of making Jaime mad.

"Well what's this guy doing talking to my lady?" He seemed annoyed and concerned.

I sighed. "I'm not sure what he wants, we haven't spoken in a year." I wasn't sure what else to say to Jaime. "Just forget about him." I said as I put the key into the ignition. I certainly wasn't about to tell him about the guy who raped me.
