This Love Was Out of Control

You Make Me Feel Low

*Vic’s POV*

“Come here, Vic,” he said motioning me to get in bed with him. I dipped the bed with my weight leaning against him. He held me tightly and wrapped us up under the covers. “I really love you. Please don’t leave me. I don’t think I can handle living without you. You complete me. I love you.”

“I love you too, Jaime.” I wrapped my arms around him and pecked him on the cheek.

“Now go to sleep you,” he smiled. “It’s late.”

…..

Oh my god. It was Jaime. It was him all along. Well I figured much because everything fits the description I had of him perfectly.

But the letter…I still don’t know for sure who wrote it. Wait. I can totally ask Caesar if Jaime wrote it because they hang out all the time!

~~~
“Pass the ball, Vic!” Mike yelled from across the field. I was blocked on all sides. I couldn’t dribble it to him because he was too far.
“Over here, Vic!” Jaime waved his arms in an X form. He was way closer than Mike. I could either pass it to him or make a shot. But the goal was too far from me and I don’t want Mike getting mad at me. But I think it’s time to see how good Jaime is. He obviously said a while ago that he was better than me so now it’s time to put him to the test.
I kicked the ball to Jaime and he swerved his way past the other team members. He dribbled the ball with his feet and made a sweet shot from the side. I don’t even think I can get it from the side! That’s so damn difficult! How the hell did he do that? I guess I shouldn’t doubt his soccer skills. He was good.
Our team cheered and clapped. They even picked up Jaime on their shoulders and sprinted across the field. He held little red flags in his hands, waving them around in his own victory.
“Bring it in guys!” Coach Fraser yelled from the sidelines. We all walked up to him and listened to what he had to say. “Good job everyone! I’m proud of you all. And Jaime…I’m very impressed.”
“Thank you, Sir.”
“Vic, you looked a little drained today. You alright?” Fraser asked me.
Drained? What the hell? “I’m fine, Coach,” I spoke out. He nodded and walked away.
We were all changing in the locker room when I exchanged lookes with Jaime.
“Ummm, Jaime?” He looked up at me. “You’re staring at me again.”
He looked embarrassed. “S-Sorry. I didn’t mean to like…you know…”
“It’s fine. Good game today by the way,” I reminded him. “You were great.”
“Thanks,” he said shyly, turning away and sliding his shirt on.
I don’t get it. One day, he’s all happy and shit with no fear or worries on his mind. Then the next day, he’s all gloomy and sad looking; like right now. I want to ask him if he’s alright but I don’t want him to say he’s fine because clearly, he’s not.
~~~

“So first thing you gotta do is put your seatbelt on,” I told him.

“I’m not 5, Vic. I know the rules of driving. I just don’t know how to drive.”

“Ok,” I said, placing my hands in front of me in a “I surrender” moment.

He placed his foot on the pedal and very lightly pressed the gas. He turned the steering wheel on a sharp corner in the parking lot of Target.

“Oh my god…STOP STOP!” I yelled, almost wanting to take the wheel myself. “You almost hit that car! Watch where the fuck you’re going! Oh my god!”

He gave me a confused look. “No, that car almost hit ME! You saw how he came out of nowhere! Don’t fucking yell at me, Vic. I don’t need that shit. I just started driving.”

“You need to watch where you’re going and pay attention!”

“I already know that! Stop yelling at me!” He stopped the car and started tearing up.

“You’re useless, Jaime! I’m trying to help you and you don’t listen to me. What are you good for? Nothing at all!”

*Jaime’s POV*

Oh, Jaime. I’m trying to help you but you are useless. You are good for nothing. You just sit there and cry like a little baby. I can‘t believe I raised you like this. You run from your problems. You are a faggot. Be a faggot and cry in your room. You are so useless and unneeded.

My mother’s words mocked my brain when I was a kid. I was only 10 at the time and I haven’t told her at that point that I was gay. And her calling me a faggot didn’t help either. And now Vic’s words haunted my mind.

“What did you just say?”

“Useless…?”

“How dare you…call me that. You don’t know me! You don’t know what I’ve been through! You don’t know my past!”

“What? What happened in your past?” he asked.

Oh, he‘s only interested in that because he‘s getting information out of me. “Like you give a shit…” I mumbled and turned away. He pulled my arm closer to him.

“I do give a shit or else I wouldn’t bother asking you.”

“Do I have to say?”

“You declared it so yeah, you do now.”

~~~
“Wow…I’m sorry. I had no clue. I’m so fucking sorry,” Vic said, shielding his mouth from shock.
“Yeah, so will you please just not breath a word about my past or my dad to anyone?”
“Alright. So Tony is like your best friend and he acts like a father figure to you?”
I nodded my head. I can’t believe I just told him about my personal life. My past. My non-existent Fuckery squared parents. How Tony means everything to me. He was there through thick and thin.
“Ok, start the car.”
I gave him a confused look. “What?”
“Put the key in the ignition and start up the car.” I did as told. “Now, slowly turn to the left and look both ways. And if you’re on a road or freeway and you want to make a turn, always make a distance from a far. Be patient and slow down. You’re never in a hurry to drive so no accerlation needed.”
“I didn’t even move the car yet…”
“Good. It’s more efficient if I explain now rather than have you listen while you’re driving. I’d rather have you not be distracted and concentrate on what’s in front of you.”
“Ok.”
“Now take me home. I’ll tell you the way and go super slow. No rushing required.”
~~~

“Not bad for your first drive. You still need lots of work. We’ll do more tomorrow,” Vic said stepping out of the car.

“Wait!” I stopped him. I dug my hand into my pocket. “Here’s your money…for teaching me to drive.”

“No charge…”

“What? No, you can’t do that. You’re teaching me to drive so Tony said I had to pay you.”

“I said no fucking charge.”

I slipped the money back in my pocket. “Why?” I questioned.

“You practically told me your life story and I know for a fact that you didn’t want to. So thank you for that.” He started strolling away from the car.

“Hey, wait!”

“What is it now, Jaime?” He turned around and leaned against the car. The sun was perfectly proportioned on his face and its rays were shining right to his beautiful eyes. His hair glowed and his skin was scintillating.

“Why did you get out of the car? I can’t drive by myself. I don’t even have a permit yet.”

“Oh, I was hoping you’d come in and work on the project with me only because no one is home right now. And then I would drive you home later.”

“I would but I really need to be home before Tony gets home. He’s working late everyday this week and he wants me home.” He gave me a glum look and walked closer to the car.

“Good point. Drive home,” he began, getting back in the car. “and I’ll drive myself back.”

“Ok…you have a nice car by the way,” I smiled at him.

“Thanks. Now drive,” he pointed into the distance. We sped off on a nearby road.
