“I tried to call you, what happened?” I asked frantically.

“I was in the bathroom.” He chuckled.

“I kind of thought you were dead.” I admitted.

“No, they let me out after you left and here I am now.” He stated.

“Wait, whatever happened to Taylor and Cassie?” I wondered.

“Those fuckers went back to normal life. They got back into school, haven’t said a word to me when I’ve seen them, and no offense but they don’t seem to care about what happened.” Chance answered.

“We’re going to give you guys some time.” Samantha told us, then left the kitchen with Kylie right behind her.

“I can’t believe any of this has happened, but even through all I’ve been through, that one seems to hurt the most.” I admitted.

I looked up and saw Chance smiling.

“Is something funny?” I questioned him.

“No, sorry. It’s just that I spent weeks worrying about you, believing I’d never see you again and it’s such a surreal moment. In all honesty a unicorn could come out, and not even phase me.” Chance explained.

“I missed you too.” I chuckled, giving him yet another hug.

“So is Mr. Motionless good in bed?” Chance asked.

I got out of his grip and gave him a medium punch.

“Really?” I asked in an annoyed tone of voice.

“What, it was an honest question.” Chance replied.

I couldn’t hold that against him. Chance could be a dick, an airhead, a goofball, but most importantly he was always honest and true to me, a real friend. He was just trying to make this fucked up mess better.

“I don’t know he sort of drugged me.” I answered.

“Well that’s no good.” Chance stated.

“You have no fucking idea how much I missed you and your fucked up sense of humor.” I said with a smile on my face.

“Well if it hadn’t been for you and your fucked up taste of music we wouldn’t be here.” Chance told me.

“Whatever.” I sighed.

“So do you know what the plan is?” Chance asked me.

“No, I kind of want to know though.” I replied.

“Let’s go find Sam and Kylie.” Chance suggested.

I followed him out of the kitchen and we both walked down to the living room which was behind the door on the opposite side of the kitchen.

“Hey guys.” Kylie said.

“Hi, so we were wondering what the actual plan was.” Chance stated.

“Right, so we thought long and hard about this and we feel what we came up with will be the safest thing for everyone.” Kylie replied.

“Unfortunately Chance, you can’t be with Bella after today. Most likely Chris will believe that you had something to do with this and try to contact you. If Bella’s near you she’ll get caught and this will all have been for nothing. We also can’t stay here, this is actually Kylie’s real house and we don’t need any surprise pop ups from MIW. They see you and you won’t ever see the outside again.” Samantha informed me.

“Well that’s cheerful.” I said with complete sarcasm.

“It’s true though. Tonight I’ll drive you down to my yoga studio that has a little apartment thing above it. You can stay there for a few days, then when that’s clear Chance should be clean so we’ll send him to get you and then it’ll go from there. We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.” Sam told us.

I started to tear up a bit, if I hadn’t been so selfish and just stayed there would have been no issue.

“Bella it’s fine. Just wait a few days like she said and we’ll be back together.” Chance attempted to cheer me up.

“Fine, but just be safe okay. Don’t let them hurt you.” I stated.

“I won’t, do you have no trust in my ass kicking skills?” Chance wondered.

“No not really.” I laughed with a few tears coming out of my eyes.

“We should get going though, it’ll take us tonight, all of tomorrow, and two hours the next morning so we should get a move on.” Sam told me.

“I’ll go make sure no one’s around.” Chance stated, then left.

“Well good luck, I’m glad I could meet you.” Kylie said, standing up and hugging me.

I hugged her back and said “Thanks, knowing you didn’t have to do this means a lot to me. I owe my freedom to you.” I replied honestly.

“That reminds me, here you go.” Kylie stated.

She pulled out a phone, and handed it to me.

“What?” I asked her.

“It’s in case of emergencies, or when you are out of the clear you can actually contact us and Chance for that matter.” Kylie informed me.

“That’s awesome, thanks.” I thanked her.

“See you later!” Kylie called, as Sam and I walked back upstairs and outside.

Chance was leaning up against the car.

Sam hopped into the driver’s seat, and Chance walked over to me.

“So I guess this is goodbye?” I said.

“No, Bella. It’s see you later.” He whispered.

Lifting me back up he gently placed his lips on mine, and for once I kissed him back.

That was real passion.

“I love you.” I painfully whispered.

“I love you too, now get in the car before I throw you in.” Chance fake threatened me.

I sat in the passenger’s seat, and rolled down the window.

“What is that?” I asked as he pulled out a box.

“Give me your hand and close your eyes.” Chance instructed.

I did as he told me to and felt him slip something over my finger, I knew what it was.

“A promise ring.” I whispered.

He put his hand in front of mine and realized he had one on as well. Mine was smaller with a key on it, and his was larger with a lock on it.

“No matter what happens Bella, you’ll always be the key to my future. We’ve gone through to much and I can’t hide it anymore. I love you and always have, and once you’re safe in my arms we’ll finally be able to move forward.” Chance instructed me.

My heart fluttered, and my eyes became blurry with tears.

“I love you so much.” I whimpered out.

The look in his eyes was pained and longful, his eyes told me what his words were failing to say.

“Take care of her Sam.” Chance instructed.

“Will do.” Sam promised.

Chance tapped the hood of the car signaling for Sam to start going.

As we started off down the driveway, I turned around to see Chance waving, I waved right back.

I kept waving until he was no longer in my sight.

My heart ached, but this time it was out of longing.
