Worlds Over, Time to Die. Nothing Left but our Souls Inside.

Jaime's POV

Two months of this living hell. Two months since everything I knew was torn to fucking shreds. It's not fair anymore. It never was fair in the first place. I didn't ask to go through this shit. I don't deserve any of this. None of us do, but were going through it anyway. I am so fucking over this hell hole, and the real hole in the ground right beside our barn doesn't make things better either.

The other day, after the second earthquake, Vic disappeared. I noticed. I notice when people disappear. They don't as much. Ive been in everyone's shadow lately, they haven't noticed me. But i don't care. I'm better off alone.

I walked up the ladder to the top of the barn. He might be staring out into the broken world. Vic was there. That's where he ran off to. He has been through a lot lately. He cries every night since Papa died. I can understand his pain. I stood there for a moment, contemplating whether or not I should go see him. I crawled over to his side.

I think he noticed me, but he didn't react. I sat beside him and wrapped him in a blanket I found in another room. Vic needed it more than I did. We sat there for a while, just embracing each other's much needed company.

"You know you don't have to go through this alone. You don't have to exclude yourself from everyone" I broke the silence.

Vic didn't react, although I knew he was listening. "Vic I know what you're going through. I lost my entire family two months ago. I know you're pain. But as they say pain makes you stronger"

I lost my words for a moment. "I think you're strong Vic. You are so much stronger than you can see. I mean, dude, you're fucking leading us through this hell while going through hell yourself. It takes strength to do that. But I know it's hard, and I guess that's why you're here. You needed a break, and I respect that. You deserve one."

Vic looked at me and smiled softly. It was a genuine smile. I felt like he was really listening.

"Hey, you remember when we were in the states and hanging out with All Time Low. You got so wasted you were attracted to me. You kept grabbing my arms and caressing my muscles. And then Jack passed out on the top of his bus?

"Oh yeah, remember when Tony ran into the liquor store wearing a ski mask. Fuck that was funny. I swear to god he'd never make it out, but he did, and with a six-pack. That was a good night.

"Oh here's another one, remember years ago in Japan. We were staying in these fancy hotel rooms and completely sober, I managed to fall through the paper door and tear down the wall"

Vic was smiling now. His smile glowed. It made the sunset look weak. It was good to see him smile for once. I guess he just needed it. I caught myself smiling too. It felt good. I think we both needed a break from reality.

"It's good to see you smile Vic. You should smile more, even if it seems impossible at times. You're still an inspiration."

I walked off.
