Worlds Over, Time to Die. Nothing Left but our Souls Inside.

The morning after Mike came back to the group went pretty well. It was the rest of the day that destroyed us all.

I was actually smiled at when I came inside to get something to eat and drink. They were just some small gestures that made things seem a little bit better between the group.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" Mike asked quietly as Jame and Tony kept eagle eyes on us.

"Uh, yea, sure." I nodded hesitantly and glanced over at Tony, almost telling him to stay close in case something happens again.

We ate in slightly tense silence but we were all together again and finally get over some reserved feelings between us all. This was a pretty big step for all of us.

When we finished, Mike pulled me outside .

"I just wanted to apologize. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions like I did and I befinitely should have beat the shit out of you for something I didn't know the full story on." He said with an apprehensive look strewn about his face.

"I should be the one apologizing. I egged it on, I deserved to get hit for what I said. I do want to let you know that it was a complete accident when I kissed Alysha." I said with a pause and he looked a little confused.

"I went to give her a kiss on the cheek for comforting me and she turned her head at the last second. I would never purposely hurt you like that, even you know that. I may be sad and lonely but I would never stoop that low." I mumbled and he smiled slightly.

"I know you would never do that to me, I just blew up when Vic told me what he saw. I should have asked you and Alysha what had happened before I did anything." He sighed and I stepped a little closer to him and gave him a cautious hug.

"We good?" I asked as I pulled away from the slightly awkward embrace.

"Yea, we're good." he smiled and we went back inside with the others who cautiously looked between Mike and I.

"Stop looking at us like that." Mike grumbled and I chuckled and it was as if they all let out a collective sigh of relief. It was almost comical.


Later, after we had stopped for the night, I was outside guarding while Jaime and Vic were still out gather some more supplies. There weren't many zombies where we were and that was a refreshing sight to see. The night air was crisp and cool. Tony was out here with me while everyone else was inside.

We then heard this single booming gun shot. It sounded as if it came from the house we had found. We both jumped up as soon as we heard screaming.

Someone screamed and we looked around to see where it was coming from.

When we finally followed the screams and sobs, what we saw we could never forget.

A small note was passed around between the group, it was truly a heart breaking sight.

Everyone,

I am sorry but I can no longer walk around and pretend like everything is alright. A few days ago, during that big attack, I was bitten. I fought off the changes for as long as I could and I figured it was better this way. I didn't want any of you to have to kill me when you found out so I did it myself.

I hope you all can forgive me.

I love you all and wish you make it out of here alive.

I read the note and teared up. How did we not notice that he had gotten bit!? I quickly made the decision to take the girls out of the room. They didn't need to be in here and see him like this. I set them all out in the broken living room area just as Vic and Jaime came back. They both looked so confused and when Vic looked over at his mother, she cried out even more.

"What happened?" Vic asked cautiously and I just hugged him before saying anything. He went over to his mother and she pulled him into a tight embrace as well.

"He's gone baby." She mumbled through a thick teary voice. He ran to where he heard his brother and soon the yelling, sad heartbreaking yelling started.

I wasn't sure what to do, we were all sad but I kind of just comforted everyone. I had only ever met Mr. Fuentes a few times but he was such a nice man.



That night was one of the roughest we have ever been through. We stayed in the same house for a few days after that but soon we had to start moving again, without Papa Fuentes.
I'm not sure how long we can carry on this way, not knowing if we will live or die or if another one of us will get bit.


I hope that we can get out of here and find a place that's safe.
