The white owl feather tattoo could be seen clearly from where I was standing a few paces away. Her hair was being highlighted by the bright sunshine, the dark brown changing tints as she turned her head. Sunglasses covered her chocolate eyes and the top of a silver piercing could be seen on her right eyebrow.

As she smiled, the sun caught yet another piercing, this time on her left lip. A septum piercing was slightly hidden from the shadow cast by her nose. She was quite short, just under five feet.

'Come on, Tony.' She said, taking my hand and leading me down to the beach. A large hoodie covered most of her body, her calves peeking out below the hem. I caught a glimpse of her beautiful dream catcher tattoo that decorated her left calf, and recognised the hoodie as mine.

'Why've you got my hoodie on?' I asked, swinging our arms. She shrugged, biting her lip and laughing at me. I shook my head and picked her up around her waist, throwing her over a shoulder.

'Put me down!' She complained, hitting her fists lightly against my back.

'Ah, no.' It was just turning into Autumn, but the afternoon was still warm. We planned on swimming in the water until sunset; then buy fish and chips from down the road and eat on the beach. We reached the sand and I plonked her down on a soft spot, waiting for her to ditch the hoodie and sunnies. Her pale skin was exaggerated by the light sand, her freckles standing out more than ever. Yet another piercing through her belly button was shown off by her bikini top and Billabong shorts. She ran into the surf, squealing as the cold water hit her exposed thighs as she charged through it. She came to a stop a few meters in and wrapped her arms around herself, shivering. I grinned and splashed through the water to her, making sure the water hit as much of her body as possible.

'Tony!' She complained, rubbing her arms. I saw the goosebumps on her skin and slowly waded back, wrapping my arms around her. 'Take us out deeper,' she commanded, jumping up and wrapping her legs around me and burying her head in the crook of my neck. I started walking out deeper, not minding the colder water. When I got to about waist level, Cass started wincing, clutching me even tighter.

'It's getting my toes wet,' she complained.

'Really? I didn't notice.' I said, continuing on my journey. Cass huffed, knowing that she was stuck - she could either cling onto me and wait until I decided to go back to shore, or jump into the water, which she definitely didn't want to do.

'So, while we're out here, trying to explore the seven seas, what should we do?' I asked, swinging around a little bit.

'Um,' she said, burrowing into me and crossing her legs on my back, 'not throw me in.'

'Well, I feel like going for a swim.' I said, taking a big step and throwing myself forward, Cass screaming and trying to let go of me and fall down. Instead, I fell on top of her, completely dunking her under the water.

'You ass!' She spluttered, standing up and hitting my arm.

'I love you too.' I replied, kissing her gently. I sat down in the water and she swam over, pushing me down while joining her lips to mine. We kissed underwater, surfacing before we suffocated ourselves and drowned.
