The Skater N' His Skater Girl

It Really Was Love At First Sight

It was a hot day in the middle of June, Mike and I were going to one of his friend's houses. He kept talking about her and how amazing she was at making and designing skateboards. Yes, Mike had shown me pictures but I just didn't believe him. So here I was sitting in his car driving down some street in the middle of San Diego, California with Pantera on blast and hopes of not getting a headache from the music.

We pulled up to a one-story house that blends in with the rest of the neighborhood. We both got out of the car as Mike walked in front of me and walked up to the door knocking rather fast. Within minutes a guy around 5'8 appeared in the doorway, Mike leaned forward and gave him a bro hug. They exchanged a few words before I started to follow Mike to the garage.

The garage door opened and I saw skateboards littering on every wall of the space, I felt like I was in heaven, each design unique in its own way. I felt Mike walk up to me and patted me on the shoulder as he whispered, "I told you so."

The sudden sound of a door opening and closing took me out of this trance, my eyes fell to a girl around 5'4, blonde hair ripped skinny jeans, and a black Key Street tank hugged her body in all of the right places. She stood in front of a wooden desk and an Obey hat resting near her tattooed hands. She looked at me then passed me at Mike and ran up to hug him.

"How are you short stuff?" Mike asked.

I could see the glair in her eyes at the word short.
"I'm fine you giant," She looked over at me as I could see her blue eyes slightly brighten. She was so beautiful I could have fallen in love with her in an instant.
"Who's your friend Mike?" She asked.
Mike walked over to me as he slid his arm around my shoulder saying, "This is Tony, the guy I've been telling you about."

She started quite for a moment until I heard Mike leave the room.
I had to ask her out, we both stayed silent until I talked making the first move," Would you like to go skating with me sometime?" I said quietly thinking she wouldn't hear me.
I looked over at her completely nervous as I saw her quickly nod her head. I broke out smiling walking closer to her.
"I'm Ali by the way." I looked down at her saying in a rather shy tone," Well it's nice to meet you, Ali."
"It's nice to meet you too Tony." She was very shy, you should hear it in her voice.
Mike and I stayed for a little longer, Ali telling us about the boards as I stole glances at her every now and then. It was about 7 pm when Mike and I left, I told Ali I would call her soon, leaned forward and kissed her cheek lightly. As I walked away I could see a light blush appear on her cheeks. Mike and I got in the car and drove towards my house as he was blabbering on and on about how Ali said yes to going on a date with me and not him both knowing that Mike has a girlfriend already.
