VIC'S POINT OF VIEW

Her dad looks a bit angry but, he lights up once he sees Tiff. He’s tan, tall, and has very few grey hair showing. He doesn’t hug her, but smiles. “Hi.” he says. “Hi, dad.” she says, giving him back a grin. Then, his attention’s to me. He has a blank face. “Dad, this is my best friend, Vic. I met him in San Diego.” She says turning to look at me. I put out my hand and he shakes it. “Glad to finally meet you.” I smile at him and he grins, “You too.” After that, we walk in and follow her dad. The first thing I see is a big couch with a humungous dining table next to it. I'm guessing it's the living room. We walk a little further and I see a women sitting on this other black couch staring down Tiffany.

She’s light skin, black hair, and has bright blue eyes. I'm pretty sure she's Italian and not Asian like Tiff. Oh, and, she looks mad. I glance at Tiff, and she looks frozen. I think she's scared.

Her dad joins the woman on the couch, but sits far from where my she’s sitting. “Lesley.” Tiff finally says. “Jiggly puff.” she says with an evil grin, eyes blazing, and a small chuckle comes out her mouth. “This is my bestfriend, Vic. Vic, my dad’s bitch.” she says relentlessly. Tiff doesn't look scared anymore. “What’d you call me?!!?” she shouts standing up. Tiff goes closer to Lesly's face and glares back at her. Her hands are in a fist and she's ready to punch. “Tiff!!!” her dad shouts. The three of us turn to look at him and he’s giving Tiff a look. VI turn back to the girls and say, “Hi, nice to meet you.” Lesly grins at me and then walks into what looks like a bathroom. I look at Tiff and she looks pissed off. “I’m gonna show Vic my old room.” she says to her dad, who's staring at the t.v.

We walk up this white carpet stairs, through this short hall, and then through this door near a bathroom. Her walls are filled with photos and posters, and painted a teal color. I look at her and it's a twin size princess bed, with a white see through fabric canopy. It has a canvas of flowers painted on the frame. I immediately sit on it, “This is one beautiful bed.” I smile at her. She chuckles softly, “I liked the canopy.” I pat the space beside me, telling her to sit here. She follows through with a smile.

Her bedroom’s just like the one at her house. Well, except for the bed. She probably grew out of the “princess bed”. It’s so her. It’s cute though. I smile. “Nice introduction right?” she says with a chuckle and of course her sarcasm. I look at her, “They seem nice.” I awkwardly say, because I just can’t find the right words to describe what just happened. And she laughs. “You’ve got the wrong idea.” And I’m yet again confused. “Tiff!” the dad calls out. We both look that way and I glance at her. She looks scared, again. Oh god. What’s wrong with them? “I’ll be back.” And she’s out the room.

I hear yelling, things falling and breaking. What’s going on? Maybe I should go snoop a bit. I walk down the stairs and stop halfway to hear. “He’s not my boyfriend!” she screeches to them. “Why would you bring him then?” Lesley asks. I’m pretty sure Lesly’s being a bitch to Tiff. “What’s wrong with me bringing a friend here?? Maybe I should stop coming here!” Now, Tiffany’s yelling even louder. Whoa.

And then more yelling and arguing. I walk back to her room and sit on her bed, wondering what hell is going on. Maybe this is why she was upset last night.

I look up from the ground to see Tiff standing by the door way. "I don’t want to want to be here." she says. "I'm sorry you had to see that." I walk up to her, gripping her arms, “It's fine. Are you okay? I heard lots of yelling.” “I’m fine. Let’s go to where I planned.” she says softy trying to reassure me with a smile. I know she's not happy right now, so, I gesture her cheeks softly, with my hands. She looks a bit surprised. “Are you sure you are okay?” I ask staring at her chinky brown eyes. She touches my hands and say, “I’m fine.” “That can’t be true, darling.” I say. She looks down and immediately walks over her to her bed.

She grabs the blanket from her bed. “Taking that with you?” I ask giggling. “It’s my favorite blanket. You’ll love it.” She grins at me and I'm smiling.

We are still in the Valley as we arrived at this hill top. “Whoa.” I say getting out the car. I'm staring at this view of the valley. What makes it better is that it’s night out. Tiff walks to the front of the car and leans back on it. I meet her there and say, “This is beautiful.” She grins while looking at the view. “So, this is where you lived in your childhood life.” I look at her. She nods, “And this is my favorite view point.” “There’s more?” I ask. She nods again.

I start chuckling, “People can be naked here and no one would even notice.” she bursts into laughter, “That’d be something new on my bucket list.” I giggle staring at her. She turns to me, still laughing a little, and stares back. It falls into silence and she looks back to the view. I look down because I don't understand why I keep looking at her.

“Do you ever think that someone can save someone by just being in their presence?” she asks staring off at this beautiful view. I look back up to her and I try to read her expression. “What do you mean exactly?” She turns to me. Her eyes stare back and it’s almost glistening. “It’s pretty literal, Vicster.” I chuckle a smile. “Well, I don’t know. Fans tell me all the time that the guys and I save their lives.” I start. “I’m really thankful for that. So, I guess, yes.” She nods and turns back to the view. “That’s good. Glad you know it.” she says. Yet again, I'm watching her. Out of nowhere she punches my left arm. “Punch buggie yellow!!!” she exclaims into laughter. “Ow!” I say rubbing my soon to be bruised arm. “There’s no yellow buggie!!” I shout. She laughs standing up, “Let’s go home, darling.”

We make our way to the car and I offer to drive. We argue about it and she finally gives in. I win.

I wake and I’m on her bed, wrapped around that blanket she took from her old room. I check the time that's on her left bedside table, and it’s 4:35 in the morning. I look to my right, and Tiff’s sleeping. I remember we knocked out as soon as we got here and I was too lazy to go home. I watch her. She looks peaceful and beautiful... I'm smiling like a creep right now. I get a little closer to her, and smile as I fall back to sleep.

Notes

It's Vic's first time meeting Tiff's parents. Tons of confusion and questions to ask.
