If I Were You, I'd Put That Away.

Don't Look Now, I'm Being Followed. Act Normal.

Vic's POV

It's been three days since I've had contact with Jaime. I've called him at least 100 times since that day in the hallway, but he has yet to answer. His phone has been going straight to voice mail since yesterday, and I'm really worried that something happened to him. He's all I can think about. I need to tell him what happened at the party, but he won't answer his phone. I keep getting this gut feeling that something is really wrong, but I don't know what. It's been really hard without him here with me. The only good thing is that I haven't seen Kellin at school since the day he showed Jaime the picture. Maybe he got suspended or something.
I hear my phone go off and I look down to see that Tony texted me.

From Tony: Hey, wanna go to the park to get your mind off Jaime? I found this cool place when I was walking but it was locked! Let's check it out, dude!

Going to the park sounds like an okay idea to distract myself.

To Tony: Yeah, I'd like that. Let me get ready and I'll drive over to your house

I get up from where I was sitting and take a quick shower. I begin pulling on a shirt when I hear my phone go off again.

From Tony: No need to drive here, I'll be at your place in 15 minutes, okay?

To Tony: Okay I'm almost ready. You can go ahead and come over.

I finish getting ready and go to sit downstairs. I hear a knock at the door and I quickly walk over to it, grabbing my keys in the process.
“Hey, Vic” He says as I open the door and sit down in the car. I smile and laugh.
“Hey, Tone... So where is this place exactly... and how did you find it?” I question as he pulls out of my drive way.
“Well, it's a long story. I was walking around a few weeks ago when I was mad and I got lost... I found this place and well.. I remembered where I walked.” I let out a little laugh. He's still the same person he was when he was in middle school. He would constantly walk around and find these cool little places and we would find them again and just hang out there.
The rest of the ride was pretty quiet. He would occasionally say something and I'd pretend to listen. I feel like an ass for not really paying attention, but all I could think about was Jaime and where he was. I pull out my phone and send him another text, asking where he was. I feel the car come to a halt and I look up to see that we are already at the park. I quickly unbuckle my seat belt and get out of the car.
“So how long of a walk is this?” I ask him as he opens his trunk and pulls out a pair of pliers. He lets out a little laugh, and we start walking to the woods of the park.
“I think it's about 30 or so minutes. You're okay with that right?” I nod and grab my phone from my pocket. I put in one ear bud and hear a Chiodos song begin to play.

I look at the time and see that we have been walking for 30 minutes. We have been walking on what seems to be a gravel road; my legs are aching and I'm really thirsty. I look up at Tony and see a huge smile grow on his face. He points his finger straight in front of us and laughs a little.
“That's it! That's the place I found, Vic! Come on, let's get that door open!” he says through laughter. I look at the building in front of me. It's a little brown shack that looks like it hasn't been used in quite a while. We slowly start walking up to the door and I hear a pained moan behind it. I feel my eyes widen and my stomach drop.
“Tony, did you hear that?” I whisper to him and he quickly nods. His eyes are wide as well and we just stand there for a second. “Sh-should we open it?” I ask him. I see him take a deep breath and he puts the pliers to the door, quickly breaking the padlock. He slowly pulls the door open, just enough for him to look inside. I hear him take in a sharp breath as he looks in.
“What?! What is it?!” I say, louder than I intended. He doesn't say anything as he continues staring into the barn. I quickly push him out of the way and bust the door open. I feel my jaw drop as I see the very thing I feared.
I see Jaime laying on a mattress in the middle of the floor. He's completely naked and covered in cuts and bruises. I glance at Tony, wide eyed, and he quickly grabs my arm.
“Don't you even think about it, Vic. I'll call 911. Don't touch him” I feel my eyes begin to water as I pull my arm away from his grasp and run over to Jaime. I feel the tears start streaming from my eyes as I hear Tony on the phone with who I can only assume to be 911. I carefully pull him into me and look at his face. I seem his eyes begin to flutter open. I look into them and I quickly pull my shirt off and wrap it around him.
“Vic, the person told us to get him out of here. We don't know when the person who did this to him will come back, and we can't afford to get locked in here.” I look up at Tony, who is now shaking with fear. He runs over to Jaime and me and wraps his arms around Jaime's waist, gently pulling him up. He lifts Jaime's arm over his head and around his neck, and I do the same. We start walking out as fast as we can without hurting Jaime. In the distance, I hear the sirens and we start walking a little faster. The farther away from that place, the better.
I hear another pained groan come from Jaime's lips as we lean him against a tree. I sit down next to him and lightly brush over his face.
“I'm so sorry, baby. This is all my fault. I love you so much.” I whisper to him.

It's been about 10 minutes since we heard the sirens and Jaime hasn't really come to yet. We look up to see the paramedics coming down the gravel road that we walked down. Tony and I quickly pull Jaime up from where we sat him and wait for them to stop next to us. They pull out a stretcher from the back before coming up to us. They take him from my grasp and put him on it, slowly pulling him into the ambulance. Just then two cop cars show up behind the ambulance, their blue lights flickering.
“Who wants to ride in the Ambulance? We can only have one of you. The other will go in the cop car.” I look over at Tony and he nods for me to go to the Ambulance. I quickly thank him and rush into the back, sitting on the little bench-type things they have next to the stretcher. They begin cleaning his wounds and quickly put a mask on him to help him breathe.
I see his hand fall from the bed and I lightly grab it.
Please be okay, Jaime. I love you so much.
