Roots Beneath Ideals

Making It Out Alive

Fuck, my head hurts. I only had one wine cooler last night, there’s no way I can have a hangover. It’s cold as hell too, I bet Vic opened left the window open again.

I sat up, or at least attempted to because I sure did fail at it. Seriously though my head was ridiculously hurting me. I raised my hand to where it mainly hurt and felt something sticky. I brought my hand down and focused my eyes to adjust to the dark. Wait the dark? Also then I came to realize my wrists were tied, so were my legs.

What happened to me?

“Look what we did, I told you we’d hurt her.” I heard Tyson’s voice, frantic.

“You’re crazy, she’s fine.” A much deeper voice rang.

“Fine? She’s bleeding!”

Who is he talking to?

“We have to take her to the hospital now.”

“If we do that we’ll get in trouble, more likely get put in jail. I’m pretty sure her family is looking for her now.”

I tried sitting up again and this time made it.

First things first like Tyson said, I need a hospital now before I bleed to death. Then I need to get Tyson some help.

“I don’t care what happens to me all I care is that Keri is safe. She’s done nothing but love me, let me join her group of friends, she-.”

“I said no! She doesn’t even love you, she’s been using you. Do you honestly think she could help you?”

Whoever you are I can help him.

“Tyson?” I called my voice a little shaky.

I heard footsteps slowly approaching me. For all I knew it could have been the guy talking to Tyson. A small light appeared and there he was.

“Tyson.” I breathed, “What’s going on, you have to let me go. I can help you.”

He towered over me, just staring. Then he smirked like something was really amusing him.

“I’m sorry, but the Tyson you are looking for is away at the moment. Leave a message at the beep.”

I stared back at him until small pieces of the puzzle fell into place.

“Who are you?”

“Well,” he started still with that smirk, “Most people know me as the sweet innocent Tyson, others know me as Terrance, but you my darling can call me whatever you please. You know I’ve been watching you for a while,” he stopped and laughed like what he said was funny. “Well at least I’ve been watching you through dear ol’ Tyson here. You’re quite the gal I must say. You really know how to lead a guy on, it’s a shame though, and I actually liked you for a while. Oh well in the end you’re just like the rest and do you know what that is?”

I shook my head.

“Would you like to know?”

Again I shook my head, “Just let me go. I want to talk to Tyson.”

“I’m sorry, I can’t exactly let you go, but you’re more than welcome to talk to Tyson. Just remember I can hear everything you say.”

Tyson or rather Terrance shut his eyes then reopened them.

“Keri. Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean-.”

“Tyson, listen to me you have to let me go. I know that you’re sick, I want to help you. You have to let me go first, I need a hospital.”

“I know you do, but he won’t let me. So I’m going to get some stuff to patch you up okay?”

“No Tyson, you have to let me go, you have to fight him.”

“I can’t, but I promise I’ll be back. I’ll get you all cleaned up. You must be hungry too, what do you want to eat?”

“Tyson just let me go.”

Tyson stood up and walked away.

I couldn’t think of anything but to cry and hope I made it out of this alive.
