Mirrors on the Outside
Chapter 34
~Tony's POV~
"No Vic, I won't fucking calm down!" I've never been this close to backhanding one of my best friends before, but Vic's mothering instinct is really starting to piss me off. My Lala is in surgery because she was shot and I wasn't there to help her or save her. There's literally nothing I can do and it fucking pisses me off.
"Tony, dude. There's nothing you can do right now, and this isn't helping anyone. Just sit your ass down and breathe." I must be acting pretty awful if it's pissing Mike off, so I Just do what he says.
I sit there and hold my head in my hands, breathing deeply. That is, until the doctor finally walks back in the room. "She's awake and stable. One of you can go see her now." I look at Mike and Vic, and they both nod of me. I mutter a 'thanks' and follow the doctor, walking as briskly as I can.
"Tone-Tone?"
I finally allow myself to break down, collapsing into tears and grabbing her hand. "Oh my Lala, I'm so fucking sorry. This is all my fault."
"Tony, shut the fuck up, right now. You couldn't have changed a single thing that happened, but if you need to hear it, I forgive you. Not stop all this crap and give me a damn hug." I smile, my Lala's back finally.
"Your shoulder," I sob a few last times against her good side, "Christ, it was just your shoulder."
She laughs lightly, and I know in my heart that everything is truly going to be okay. "Yes, I ONLY had a bullet put in my shoulder."
I roll my eyes at her silliness. "Oh get over yourself. Now that I've seen you, and know you're alright, I'll go send Mike or Vic in."
Laura's expression suddenly turns deadly serious, and she grabs at my arm as I try to stand. "Wait, what? Why not Jaime? What's happened to him?!"
"Shh, he's fine sweetheart. He was panicked and freaking out about you, so they had to sedate him. He's perfectly okay, Lala." She sighs and lets me go.
