Mirrors on the Outside
Chapter 14
~Vic's POV~
Tony and I run around the bus frantically gathering all sorts of random shit into the back lounge to get ready for Laura's 18th tonight.
"VIC! Jaime just texted me; they'll be here in like thirty minutes."
"Fuck! Let's go turtle! C'mon, all you other lazy shits let's go. It's for Laura, not me. Remember that, assholes."
Mike just shakes his head at the two of us and continues hanging streamers. I'm hoping I remembered Laura's favorite colors correctly, grey, green, and blue. If not, I hope she at least likes them.
All too soon, I hear Jaime's voice coming from the front. "Everybody out, quick! We'll finish later, right after the show while she showers after all of us."
Everybody nods silently and agreement and we disperse. I casually walk up to the kitchen where I find Laura with her cast on and Jaime doodling on it with permanent markers. I laugh when I see him drawing 'stuff', making her keep her eyes closed.
The funny, well not funny, thing is that she is so uncomfortable around anything sexual. Not even necessarily because of everything that happened with Craig, but it just freaks her out. She'll be hella pissed to find out Jaime's drawing a dick on her arm.
"Jaime, stop. Don't be so mean to the poor girl." I chuckle as I walk in.
"What? What do you mean?" Laura exclaims as her eyes fly open. Jaime sends me a worried glance.
"Hey, it's all fun, right Laura?" Jaime asks nervously.
She doesn't respond right away, just narrows her eyes. Then she starts counting back from ten, rasing her eyebrows and smirking. Jaime and I look at each other, confused. When she reaches one, she springs up from the seat and jumps on Jaime's back, forcing him to stumble over to the couch and starts tickling him.
"Vic, hurry up and help me!" She laughs out, as Jaime starts trying to get her to stop. As he flips them over and starts getting payback, I stand there and laugh.
"Viiiiiic. Jaiiiiiiiiiime." She pouts. "C'mon, I've just gotten out of the hospital, stop!"
Somehow, she isn't even laughing. Must not be ticklish. I guess Jaime decides that he hasn't embarassed her enough though, so he kisses her on the forehead before getting off of her. Laura's cheeks flush the most brilliant shade of red I've ever seen.
"Whatever." She stutters. "I'm out of here, going to explore a bit. Tone-Tone!? You coming with me?" She shouts.
Out of nowhere, Tony appears and offers her his arm. She giggles and latches on to him, and they head off the bus.
"Jaime, do you like Laura?"
"What do you mean Vic, of course I do?!"
I give him a look. "You know what I mean, Jaime."
He sighs heavily and looks at the floor, swinging his feet from the high chair. "I think so. Tony thinks so. He also has this crazy idea she likes me back, but...."
I laugh and shake my head. "You aren't that oblivious, are you? Jaime, that girl is crazy for you. She broke her arm because you kissed her cheek. That doesn't just happen."
He blushes almost as much as Laura had. "I don't know. I guess I'm happy she's 18 at the least, if something would happen. I don't know."
I pat him on the back. "I'm gonna go make sure the terrible twosome doesn't destroy the place. In the meantime, check out what we've done for the party so far, and then grab a nap. You seem like you could use it."
~Laura's POV~
"Spill it girl." Tony says, as soon as we're seated on the edge of the stage. It's become our tradition to do this, just sit and chill here for about an hour before getting ready for soundcheck and everything.
"What do you mean?" I ask innocently.
He rolls his eyes. "Your cheeks are redder than Mike's when he has too much to drink. Something happened that embarassed you around Jaime. What was it?"
"He kissed me again. Forehead this time. I mean christ, Tone. The guy sure knows how to screw with a girl's head."
"Maybe that's not all he's doing." Tony chuckles.
I grab his arms, and he looks at me surprised. "You've said stuff like that before. Explain. I'm not letting you go until you do."
He just shakes his head and gets a bit of an evil grin. "My lips are sealed, princess. Besides, you and I both know that I'm way stronger than you."
"Was that a challenge, Perry?"
"It sure was." He says, quickly scooping me up in his arms and tossing me over his shoulder. I hate to say it, but the world looks so much different from up here.
I pound on his back repeatedly. "Tonyyyyyyyyyyy put me down!"
"You'll have to do better than that."
I smirk. "Put me down right now or I'll throw your toy sheepcat and turtle figurines right out the bus window while it's moving."
I'm on the ground in seconds. Vic walks in. "What exactly is going on in here?" He laughs.
"Wawa's bweing mwean!" Tony says in a baby voice, pouting.
"Aww, is baby Tony sad?" I tease him.
"Enough you two!" Vic says, faking exasperation.
I roll my eyes. "Alright, Mom. Gosh, you're so old."
Vic mocks offense. "Hey! 30 is not old, bitch!"
"Don't you call my Lala a bitch Victor Vincent Fuentes!" Tony says with false danger in his voice and we all crack up laughing and sit back on the edge of the stage, me inbetween Tony and Vic.
I rest my head on Vic's shoulder, because I can't reach Tony's, so I just hold his hand. "Thank you guys." I say quietly.
"For what, dear?"
"Everything. This, mainly. A family and friends, just enjoying life and each other."
