King For A Day

Vic's POV

I was in AP history listening to Mrs. Samson drone on about some war that I did not care about. all I wanted was to hurry up and get out of this class because with this being my last class of the day, and a Friday, I could finally start my weekend. and boy what a weekend it would be. me and my best friend kellin always got invites to all the biggest social events. tonight Yasmine Hernandez was having the grand opening of her teen club Rage. she was a senior and one of the hottest girls at school and also my girlfriend. we had been dating since the eighth grade and we were still going strong.

I threw a paper ball at my best friend kellin Quinn and he frowned and turned around. kellin was always trying to be the good kid and pay attention even though he didn't have to. he knew just as well as I did that we owned this school and we could breeze by on just our good names.

"kellin are you coming to Rage tonight? it's the grand opening and Yas wants you to come." I said winking,

I don't know Vic I have a lot of homework to do and I really want to get it done so I can just relax this weekend." he said softly. I rolled my eyes. that was exactly what I meant when I said he was always trying to be a good kid.

"come one kellin. you know the teachers don't care if we do our work or not. just come out and have some fun with me. invite that cute little redhead you've been talking to. what's her name Hadley?" I asked trying to remember the girl that had a crush on kellin. she wasn't what you'd call popular but she was pretty.

"her name is Hayley and I'm just not really feeling it vic. maybe some other time. but you should go and have some fun. I won't mind." I rolled my eyes.

"kellin you're going if I have to kidnap you my goddamn self. you understand?" he rolled his eyes and turned around. I knew he was going to cave. he always did. I looked up the clock. we only had five minutes before the bell rang and I grabbed my stuff and strolled out of the class. I knew Mrs. Samson wouldn't say anything. why would she? I did what I wanted when I wanted. I got into my brand new bmw and waited for kellin. he slid into the passenger seat and sighed.

"what's wrong bostwick? you're being kind of annoying today." I said rudely.

"have you ever felt there was more to life than money, sex, and parties?" he asked looking deep into my eyes. I rolled them and turned away. even though kellin hit it right on the head. I have felt that way before but I ignore and carry on.

"kellin we own the world. there's nothing we can't have. you've just had a long boring week. now it's time to cut loose and have some fun. so come with me to Rage find a girl and enjoy your youth." I slid on my ray-bans and sped off to my house. I lived three houses, or should I say mansions, down from kellin. we were always going to each others houses and having fun. along with our best friends ryan, zack, jack, and Justin. we were all inseparable.

I pulled up at my house and went inside. as usual the house was empty. my mom was the CEO and owner of a large talent agency called Glass House so she was hardly ever home. on the outside I pretended as if this didn't bother me. but on the inside it hurt. I wish my parent's were more involved in my life. well parent. I'm sure I have a father but I never met him. it's been me and my mother for years.

" where's your mom?" kellin asked. I don't know why he bothers asking me when half the time I don't know myself.

"who knows, who cares? want a beer?" he nodded and I tossed him a bottle of Guinness. he took it and started drinking.

"alright we have some time to kill before the opening so what do you want to do?" he asked frowning.

"i don't know let's invite the guys over and then go to the mall." he looked at me and raised his eyebrow.

"what are we going to do at the mall vic?"

"spend money dumb ass. what else?" I said laughing. I pulled out my phone and called the guys to come over. they arrived in fifteen minutes. we all sat on the couch laughing and having fun until it was time to go to the opening. I couldn't help but to feel like kellin was right like maybe we were missing something. but what else was there to do but laugh it off?
