King For A Day

Vic’s POV
I was so happy right now. I had a baby brother. I mean he didn’t really look like my baby brother. He was very tall and well built. My dad however was an asshole and I was glad I didn’t have to grow up dealing with him. I felt bad that mike had to.

I looked at mike’s best friend Alex and smiled. Now usually I keep my sexuality under wraps but this boy was an angel. I have never wanted anyone more than I wanted this boy and I didn’t even know his name.

“Oh Vic this is my best friend alexander William Gaskarth. He is 15 years old and he goes to school with me. Alex this is my big brother victor Vincent Fuentes.” He pushed us closer to each other. I shook his hand.

“Uh hi. I really don’t like to be called by my full name. I prefer to be called vic.” Alex nodded and smiled.

“Yeah I like to be called Alex. Or Lex.” Alex. That suited him just fine. I held on to hand for a little longer before letting go. He was smiling and blushing.

“Hey why don’t you guys go and get something to eat or something. Is there anywhere to go?” my mom asked.

“Yeah mom this is New York. There’s always somewhere to eat and have coffee and stuff.
This city never sleeps.” Mike said smiling. I’m glad he’s warming up to her. She handed him and Alex a wad of cash.

“Well go on then boys. Go have fun. I will see you later. Your father and I have some things we need to discuss.” We nodded. I grabbed the car keys and headed to the car. Mike and Alex were still standing there.

“Are you guys coming or what?” I asked chuckling.

“You have your license?” mike asked skeptically. I pulled out my wallet and pulled out my license and showed it to them. They ran over to me and looked at it. They smiled.

“cool.” They both said at the same time.

“Well are we just going to stand here staring at my license or are we going to hit the streets of New York?”

“Come on then.” Mike said jumping on my back. I laughed and carried him to the car. Alex ran to the front seat knocking mike out of the way.

“Well excuse me Alex. Go on and have the front sine you so kindly asked for it.” Mike said sarcastically. He was looking at Alex with a mixture of irritation and love. I could tell they were really close. Like brothers.

We got in the car and mike and Alex directed me to a little diner a couple of blocks away called Lena’s Place. They said it had the best burgers in town. We went inside and sat down. A small girl with wide green eyes and black hair walked over to us. She looked like she could be my age.

“Hey Mikey, hey Alex, the usual?”

“Hey Lena yeah we’ll take the usual.” Mike said winking at her. He was such a flirt. She smiled and looked at me and then back at mike.

“Oh Mikey is this your baby brother. You two look just alike.” She squealed.

“Ha-ha no this is my big brother. We just met today but I love him already. He’s so cool. He’s from California. His name is victor.”

“Awe well hello victor. My name is Lena and I own this lovely little diner. It’s probably not as nice as the ones in California but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.” She said in a heavy New York accent.

“No I think it’s just lovely. I love it here. It has a lot of character and I love that it’s rock and roll themed.” I said smiling at her.

“Awe thanks baby cakes. So what can I get you? And it’s on the house guys.”

“Uh can I have a gyro and some fries?”

“Sure thing hun. Be right out with you guy’s food.” She glided into the kitchen to give the cooks our orders.

“So Mikey what school do you go to? What are you into? What do you do for fun? What do you like to read? What do you like to listen to? What are your hobbies? Fave movies and junk like that.” I asked smiling.

“well I go to Bradish High School, I love harry potter the books and the movies, I love to drum, I love slipknot, the misfits, Metallica, evanescence, atreyu, breaking Benjamin, and so many more bands, I love skateboarding and don’t tell mom and dad but I smoke. I like doing typical teenager stuff I guess. How about you Vic?”

‘Well I like singing and listening to music. I like hanging out with my friends. And don’t tell mom and dad but I drink. I go to Cardenas High School. I’m a junior and I love having fun. I like a lot of bands too and I was thinking about starting my own.”

“That’s cool. I really am glad that I met you big brother.”

“I’m glad I met you too little bro.”

“So how about you Alex?” he looked up in surprise.

“Uh what about me?” he asked blushing. I noticed he did that every time I spoke to him. It was super cute.

“What are you into?”

“Uh I like to sing as well. I play guitar, I write songs, and I love bands as well. I’m kind of a homebody. I don’t go anywhere because my parents are really…uh…really strict.”

“Well alexander I really think you are the cutest guy I have ever seen.” He choked on his drink. He looked up at me again surprised.

“Uh thank you vic. I think you’re really cute too.”

“alright guys here’s your food.” Lena said setting our food down in front of us. We ate silently. The whole time I was watching alex. The way that one piece of hair kept falling into his eye. The way he ate slowly as if savoring every bite. He had the most beautiful everything. I adored him already. The bad thing was….i’d be leaving pretty soon…without him.
