I watched Vic the concerned eyes as he had gone silent silently looking at dawn as she played with the doll in her hands. It's as if he knew something and was silently praying he was wrong of the outcome.
" So Vic where and when are we meeting him?" I questioned plopping on the seat next to him. Vic turned to meet my eyes sending me a small smile, "he wants us to meet him at my parents place nothing to fancy you know." He replied shrugging his shoulder a bit. I nodded my head turning to look at dawn once more, not questioning things any further. Vic placed his arm softly over me stroking my shoulder with his hand.
"we should get going em, cause you know miss dawn here misses her father." He said teasing dawn. I laughed as she perked up at the call of Mike, she shot up jumping up and down yelling, " yay daddy daddy yay!".
"Go get your bag baby it's on your bed hurry me and too Vic will be waiting." I said standing and sending her on her way. I pulled Vic up from the couch reaching over to get my purse and keys from the table. Dawn came in a rush backpack in tow, Vic picked her up and we headed out the door.

The drive to the fuentes residence was a quiet one, except for dawns small talk with her barbies. She was currently scolding ken for not giving Barbie a kiss on the cheek like he should have. Dawn then proceded to throw ken against the window sending him to the floor or as she liked to call it "time out". Vic and I silently laughed at my daughter and his nieces antics. The fuentes house came into view and we could see that the others had already arrived probably already inside. Vic parked in the driveway shutting off the car. I got out of my side, unbuckling dawn from her seat grabbing her bag. Dawn made a beeline for the door, knocking her little hands against the door waiting for an answer. Alysha swung it open, smiling eagerly down at dawn lifting her up and placing a kiss on her cheek. Vic and I watched as dawn squirmed not really wanting the attention at the moment. We followed after the two entering the house and greeting everyone. Everyone was sat around, Mike and alysha in the love seat with dawn sat on Mike. Everything was eerily quiet, was I missing something?

"So I called you all here for a reason and I think it's about time I let you guys know." Mike said speaking up. We all looked at him. My nerves began to raise, I knew this couldn't be good. It never ended good for me.
"well as you all know me and alysha have been together for some time now and I couldn't picture myself without her." He began, "I decided to take the next big step in life with her because she is truly someone I see for a long time in my future and well I wanted you all to be a part of the news I guess what I'm trying to say is," Mike began to get down on one knee, there goes my breathe he began to pull a black velvet box from his jacket, is the room spinning? Mike pulls open the box, is my vision blurring? Alysha will you marry me? I sucked in a breathe. I think we all did, everyone's eyes were on me not the couple to be. Alysha stood up with dawn still holding her yelling a million times yes. Tears spilled from her eyes as they did mine. My throat constricted and air wasn't enough, the room began to spin it was all too much. I stood up quickly swaying a bit, I ran outside running as far as my feet could carry me. I collapsed on the side walk tears finally spilling sobs racked my body as the realization hit me like a ton of bricks. Mike asked alysha to marry him. Mike was no longer something I could look to as mine he was someone i needed to forget. He was red.
